EXACTLY. As someone who did not have teenage acne, but had it pretty bad as an adult, its not okay and its curable. Mine was caused by a severly damaged gut. Their are many many treatments for acne, both allopathic and natural. First step is to change what you eat and check you gut flora.

Thank you, the comment I was looking for. I get accepting yourself and loving yourself the way you are and I wished I loved myself more when I was going through this but I don't think we need to normalize acne like it's a "skin type". Acne-prone skin and oily skin are skin-types, but constantly acne-riddled skin can be an indication something isn't right.
The reason teenagers are always told "it's okay it'll go away" is because their bodies and hormones are changing so much but as an adult with more stabilized levels of hormones it shouldn't be a constant.
I get the frustration and I get how adult acne destroys your self-esteem, I have been there. It's not the kind of acne you can just "wash your face more" and be clear of it so it is annoying when people try to give you advice like you hadn't thought of it. I think the message of this channel is beautiful and we should be kind to people no matter what their skin looks like but it just may not always be correct to ignore constant inflammations of the largest organ on your body.

Was just gonna say this! Dairy caused a lot of my acne, as did a hidden autoimmune disease, I believe.
Stress and other foods can cause terrible acne as well, the trick is finding the cause and eliminating it
Edit: common food sensitivities that may cause acne (that are in general terrible for your body and gut) are gluten, dairy, sugar, processed foods, preservatives, food dyes, grains, soy, etc

Right off the bat, I'm screaming SOS. Polycystic ovarian disease causes severe acne and a lot of Dermatologists and OBGYNs miss it. Food sensitivity too. Changing soap and hair products. Getting an infrared heat face mask to kill mites that are aggravating the skin too.

when i started getting my acne in my face, my family and friends immediately judge me and blaming me for my acne, i'm suffering. fighting for my acne, fix my lifestyle, eat healthier food, and fix my skincare. and then my acne is slowly gone after months of fight almost a year. and then i realize, acne is making me live healthier and happier, acne is teaching me that nothing is useless. if you are an acne fighter, keep fighting!! don't fight for your acne, but fight for your healthiness and happiness. it all will pay off. sometimes acne is telling you that your body isn't healthy, because if you're body is healthy then your skin will do to. tips from me is don't forget to eat vegetables and fruit, do some workout, and skincare is less is more! sending love for y'all acne fighter ❤❤❤

I’m 35 and my acne didn’t go away until I was 31. I was convinced that it was never going away. I ended up dropping out of college because my acne was so bad and I was embarrassed to go to class. There were a handful of times where my acne cleared up for probably a week in my 20’s and I remember being so happy and absolutely heartbroken when it would return. One time in particular when I had a clear skin week a modeling scout approached me and gave me her card to connect on modeling for a major agency. My acne returned like 3 days later so I threw away the card. Acne truly ruins lives.

When you wash your face use hot water and a loofa scrub gently and then apply your soap or whatever your using. Scrub gently one more time to get the soap lathered on your face. Rinse all that off and then blast your face with cold water. As cold as your shower goes. Then take a microfiber rag, wet it with cold water and dab your face with it a few times to reduce inflammation. Do this three times a day and say goodbye to acne. Once in the morning, once when you get home from work/school/midday, and once before you go to bed. Also, you could avoid eating foods with an absorbent amount of sugar. Oh and drink lots of water. You could even ice your face once or twice a week if you feel that, or use acne cream once every other day.

You can treat both cystic acne and psoriasis with your diet.
Go on an elimination diet with beef and water for 30 days... You'll see crazy improvement in both conditions.
Then slowly add back in foods to find out which ones trigger your psoriasis and your acne.
I did this with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, and I've got both in complete remission with my diet. My diet does contain some carbs, and some occasional fruit and veg, but is MOSTLY beef, egg yolks, and hard cheeses.

Acne should be normalized. Nobody else should go through *name calling, being made fun of for having acne, being jealous because your friends or family have perfect skin*
Because it is perfectly normal. I got so insecure because of mine to the point where I enjoyed wearing the mask, and started to cover my mouth whenever I smile or laugh. Even with the mask, I'd cover my face unconsciously. I still though just so I don't get sick, and I'm still a bit insecure. But this made me feel a lot better, because I've never seen somebody else with a lot of chin acne like me.

This is very relatable I I loved having a mask on during COVID and had severe acne. I still have a lot of acne scarring. The product that I use is called emuaid and if your family can afford it, it really helps. I noticed results within a week, and it didn't take long for the results to get really good. My pimples reduced in severity drastically. I still get acne but you can't really tell from a distance anymore! But regardless, once when I was in 6th grade, someone asked me what it was on my face and having to explain that because I was basically the only one in the grade with severe acne was so embarrassing. Also had tons of looks and judgement. You are beautiful and don't let anyone make you feel otherwise. Anyone who bullies you about acne it shows they are a disgusting human being, not you

It also gave me an artificial tan basically otherwise I would be a lot more pale lol...

My face used to look like yours when I was a freshman in high school. I tried literally everything, and then I got on Acutane, or isotretinoin for the medical community. My face cleared up after nine months and, let me tell you, it was a massive relief! What I had was cystic acne, and isotretinoin is basically super-concentrated vitamin A.

I always felt so dismissed when people would tell me “it will go away when you’re older.” I was already 19-20 at the time, not 14 and having occasional typical breakouts. It was severe, cystic adult acne. It was hard on me mentally and emotionally and I always felt like no one understood. If you have acne, just know I understand!! ❤
My acne did eventually get better due to finding the right meds (and going off hormonal birth control actually) and getting older. But I still have more acne than most late-20s adults.

Acne, often stigmatized as ugly and bad, deserves a nuanced perspective that appreciates its complexity and the individuals it affects. While society often portrays clear skin as the epitome of beauty, it's crucial to challenge this notion and embrace the diversity of human appearances.
Firstly, acne is a common skin condition affecting millions worldwide, irrespective of age, gender, or ethnicity. Its prevalence underscores the need to normalize it rather than stigmatize those who experience it. By acknowledging acne as a normal part of the human experience, we can foster empathy and understanding rather than judgment and shame.
Furthermore, acne does not define a person's worth or beauty. Beauty is multifaceted, encompassing not only physical appearance but also character, kindness, and resilience. Those with acne often demonstrate remarkable strength in navigating societal pressures and embracing self-love despite external judgments.
Moreover, the portrayal of clear skin as the ideal is not only unrealistic but also harmful. It perpetuates unrealistic beauty standards that can lead to low self-esteem, anxiety, and even mental health issues. By challenging these standards and celebrating diversity in appearance, we promote inclusivity and acceptance.
Additionally, acne should be viewed through a lens of health rather than aesthetics. While it can be frustrating and uncomfortable, it is primarily a medical condition that requires understanding and support. By prioritizing skincare education, access to treatment, and destigmatizing conversations about acne, we empower individuals to take control of their health and well-being.
In conclusion, acne is not inherently ugly or bad. It is a common, treatable skin condition that should be met with empathy, understanding, and support. By challenging societal beauty standards and embracing diversity, we can create a more inclusive and compassionate world for all.

To anyone who this might help, I did about 10 liver flushes (adreas moritz versions) and cleared my acne for life when I was 21. As a teenager we develop acne in part because of hormonal overload which the liver cannot keep up with and some people have lower functioning livers to begin with, as well as livers that are overwhelmed by the other toxins present in the food supply and other modern day things.
For some the lessened load of hormones in adulthood is enough to give their liver the upper hand, for others (like myself) this wasn’t the case.
For those who are open to it I’d highly recommend addressing your acne from the inside out. The REAL way to clean your liver is the liver flush, not some pill you can buy at the store.
P.S. You can test run if clearing your liver would help by taking milk thistle (take a standardized extract like Nature’s way) and seeing if it clears your skin a bit, before diving into and committing to the liver flush!

I had bad acne for a long time and now that I'm 17, its really cleared up now because I simply ate less sugary foods, exercised every day, and most important of all, drank lots and lots of apple cider vinegar and lemon water. Some people have acne for a long time and i feel lucky it didn't last long.

Something that really helped me to start loving my skin type was when I started having art lessons in school and we were learning about the fundamentals of art, one of these fundamentals being texture. I started to realise that my body is a work of art and that it is perfectly okay not to have smooth skin - the acne on my skin simply added texture and interest to the art piece of my body. I hope that makes sense and that I am explaining it well enough😅.
Anyways here's just a little reminder that every bit of acne, every stretch mark, every scar and every blemish on your body ENHANCES your beauty and is simply another unique addition to the art piece that is your body❤❤❤! YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL AND DON'T YOU EVER FORGET IT❤❤❤!!

you’re so beautiful! also my advice for the comment watchers is if your acne doesn’t go away it’s helpful to cut gluten, milk and eggs out of your diet for a month and see how it affects your skin. if you’re past puberty and you don’t take any medication that changes your hormones or you don’t have a skin condition, your acne could be caused by food intolerance or allergies. acne was always okay and it always will be, people just need to mind their own business and stop commenting on other people’s skin!❤
edit: you can also take one at a time for example you can cut out gluten for three weeks then diary products for three weeks then eggs for three weeks. that’s what i did and turns out my body hates diary. you can also do this when you’re still in puberty, you can never start treating your well too soon💗

Acne is hormonal. Most of the time if you have acne/hormonal imbalance, it won’t go away until the problem is corrected. If you have it as a teen, the hormone imbalance will continue in your adult years, until it’s fixed. No amount of products, or waiting for it to clear, will work. Well, except retinoid creams will work.

It’s up to someone’s choice if they want to get rid of their acne. I never struggled with acne but I hav eczema. Any skin condition shouldn’t be like “oh it’s ok” it’s good to check if it’s under your control, that’s up to you if you wanna keep it that way or actually work on it. Yes it will take effort and yes acne can go away. You just have to try. My friend has acne and she’s been working on it and her skin is definitely improving. But at the end of the day, it’s your decision.
