@Madamemedusa1986 why not? They are immortal on television. Why can't they be together. Until you prove they can't maybe try thinking a bit more positive.
When my grandmother died this show helped me a lot. I remember her watching it and watching this show again felt like she is still here. It is one of my favorite shows to this day.
And the funny thing is that EVERYBODY watched it! Older women of course but for damn sure younger women, straight men, kids, teenagers, plenty of black folks trust me and certainly Gay men have an affinity for it as well. I remember growing up a straight black boy I was stunned how much I loved a show about four older white ladies LOL. Hell the late great DMX was a fan as well.
Watched this show with my aunties growing up as a little boy. To this day still one of the old school shows that gets me in a good mood, just like the wonder years.
I used to watch Golden Girls religiously when I was 7. I'm 37 now and looking back in my memory I never once saw them as old ladies. They were vibrant, smart, witty, hilarious, etc. even though I didn't fully understand all the humor and adult subject matter. They struck a chord with little me, and watching the show now brings back childhood nostalgia and renewed appreciation in adult me. The Golden Girls is timeless.
I love every single one of the Golden Girls episodes...I even named my daughter Rose.If I am ever sad or upset, this is my go to... Makes me smile every time!!!
There will never be another show like the Golden Girls, these women were amazing together and made it work, so much great talent on one set, bless them all, love my girls
@@mckavitt13 No way! Without Dorothy it was doomed from the get go. And it just didn't work throwing men into the equation even though it was the great Don Cheadle and Cheech Marin. The writing didn't sizzle either.
This show was epic. So important. So different. I just wish it could have lasted forever. This show actually makes me feel better about getting old. It showed me you dont have to be alone and bored. Media focuses on the young so much, and forgets about the mature woman.
I watch this show every day. Feels like I'm watching my grandma. I also have panic attacks so I just put on an episode and listen. These ladies calm me right down!!! I love them all
When the show debuted in september of 1985 I was 9. I remember my Mom taking us to my grandma and grandpa's house in Pontiac MI. We'd watch this seemingly every weekend. It was such a fun time...
R.i.p to all the golden girls , the most iconic woman ive gotten the pleasure of watching . Thank you for all the laughs and most of all thank you for being a friend ❤
I own all the Seasons on DVD. before DVD's came around we had all the episodes taped on VHS. We watched the tapes so much we wore them out. My fave show of all time. Seen them all the episodes 100's of time and they make me laugh every time.
This show reflects the times. There really was more love in the world then. People spoke face to face. I miss it. Picture it: Miami 2021: No one talks face to face anymore they all do it on their phones…
OMG Selma Diamond! loved her in Night Court! Doris Roberts, so talented. ALL of these ladies were just brilliant and wonderful!!! thank you for posting this!
I started watching at 16 when reruns were on Lifetime before Unsolved Mysteries. And I've seen every single episode, and often watch reruns when I need to feel comforted and safe lol.
My childhood favorite that's still a favorite along with The Nanny, Martin, Living Single, Frasier, Everybody Loves Raymond, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, All In The Family, The Jeffersons, Married with Children and Sanford and Son.
As a 40 year old gay man, this show has become my family. I own ten copies of The complete series of The Golden Girls. In the 2000's I would go to my local Barns & Noble store and buy the whole series all the time. I think by 2010 I stopped buying the series. I am so sad our own network Logo does not show the reruns any more. But, I am glad it is still on Hallmark network and Tv land network are still showing the program. The Golden Girls has been on Hallmark since March 2007, I am afraid as the years go by Hallmark might take the show off their network.
Love you, B. How can I miss someone who I’ve never met? Miss all three of the girls, but B most. (I know her name is Bea, I’m doing that as a term of endearment.) Bless Betty. Hope she’s around for a long time, yet. ❤️
Whats amazing about this documentary is there was no drama between these ladies. These ladies loved each other and they loved what they did. This is one of the few documentaries that didnt have any drama or issues.
Actually, Rue was already 50, when they shot the pilot in the Spring of 1985. When they returned to full season of the show in the Summer of 1985 she was 51. Rue was born in 1934 and her birthday is in late Spring.
I actually think out of them all that Rue is the most sensitive, loving and warm person of them all. Her words were heartfelt and open and she wasn't frightened to admit she cried when the producer left. Obviously Bea is an amazing lady, very expressive and powerful, and bloody attractive, my kinda woman, a one off, and her astrology chart is similar to mine, but Rue is the one I'd go to with my troubles, Bea the one for the passionate affair and Betty the sensible, pretty but funny best friend. I always liked Estelles portrayal as Sophia but somehow could never warm to her as a person but don't know why. The series was that good, I could relate to these beautiful ladies like friends and lovers. It was magic, the writing, the vibe, the sets, the clothes, the everything. I was totally mad for it as a small child when it was on UK TV and Rose was my girl, I adored her. Now I'm grown up I have fallen for Dorothy. It's still as fresh, clever, biting and sardonic as it was back in the 80s and this documentary really nails it. It's not just about the actresses it's about everyone who made the show what it was which is important. Hell I hate cheesecake but I'd even eat that in celebration of the best sitcom ever!
After Bea Arthur died, I saw an interview with Betty White where the host tried to get her to bad mouth Bea. She was so graceful and said “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I loved Bea so much!”
I’m 13 and I love this show so much lmao people are so confused why the hell I watch old shows/movies well they are just better than the stuff that’s here now.
Golden Girls is still my go to when I'm sad. I own all the seasons.
omg i own all seasons 2! btw u r gorgeous.like 2 get 2 kno u better

KG2018 I’m asking for all 8 for Christmas this year!!!

RIP to all four of them! They’re all reunited with each other now! They all had their place in television! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🕊🕊
They are Dead not reunited they are dead as in no more of them it's the end of them
Why does everyone say that! No they are not
Rest in peace

I know the Golden Girls was made, really, for an 'older' audience, but my family can't help but watch it to this day, the youngest of us being 5!
And the funny thing is that EVERYBODY watched it! I’m the same age as you and I don’t think they are even Old… only Sophia at 80 is old yet she’s sprightly and lovely!
I love every single one of the Golden Girls episodes...I even named my daughter Rose.If I am ever sad or upset, this is my go to... Makes me smile every time!!!
My moms name was Rose but she thought she was blanche
Lol
They all have sadly passed!!!
@@jacobmaldonado6406 not Betty White...she’s 99 years young 🙌🏽

Same. Every night.
OMG that's why I watch them too.
Same!!

This show actually makes me feel better about getting old. It showed me you dont have to be alone and bored.
Media focuses on the young so much, and forgets about the mature woman.
Or mature man. Older people are so disregarded yet are far more rich in personality, substance and character. Golden Girls proved that.
I watch this show every day. Feels like I'm watching my grandma. I also have panic attacks so I just put on an episode and listen. These ladies calm me right down!!! I love them all
agree............ i wish i lived in thier house with them....happy new year 2023

Betty makes royalties with me alone. I watch this show on repeat everyday! It's so good. My favorite ❤️
im 19 and I love this show!
I was born the year the show ended, but I still love the Golden Girls. Thank you for being a friend.
Me too
Those Saint Olaf stories were amazing and crazy. I still crack up when I hear them.
CARLPERU i would've loved a series set in St. Olaf
It was the expression on Roses face of pure earnestness whilst telling the stories that made me laugh!
R.i.p to all the golden girls , the most iconic woman ive gotten the pleasure of watching . Thank you for all the laughs and most of all thank you for being a friend ❤
All of them together again! Rest easy Ms. Betty❤️
This show is still FIRE 🔥 today 2019! I grew up watching it and I love....love.... LOVE IT STILL
My absolute most favorite show of all time, and I can't imagine the roles any other way.
I’m so glad they had Betty & Rue switch. I can’t imagine their characters played by anyone else lol they were born for those roles.
"The Golden Girls" is one of my favorite shows next to "I Love Lucy." I have the DVD's. I watch them every weekend.
Robert Preston Ditto
I was born in 1998. Totally missed out on the good movies, shows, and music. Love this show so much
It's kinda strange hearing Rue without a heavy Southern accent.
True!
RIP all those beautiful ladies.. 💔💔😢😢
Thanks for posting this. The Golden Girls is a superb show.

who likes the golden girls
I used to watch this all the time after school with my Grandma!
I'm watching them for the very first time, , Im on the 13th episode of the 1st season and I still have 167 more to watch, and I'm loving it!
before there were Sex and the City... Desperate Housewives etc... there was the golden girls!! i love them!
+Ross Idris So right! Dorothee is same as Miranda in sex and the city! Rose would be Charlotte and Ruth well Samantha!!!
Am still watching it in 2019
I was an elementary kid when I enjoyed this show. So it not only entertained the older viewers, but the young ones too.
I started watching at 16 when reruns were on Lifetime before Unsolved Mysteries. And I've seen every single episode, and often watch reruns when I need to feel comforted and safe lol.

...Susan Harris has a proper 1980's hairstyle, you don't see people out in the streets looking like that anymore (maybe the odd one)

10 years late....too many losses but I still want to live with them😚
I wish they would have continued that show. A favorite.
Great show, still watch it from time to time!
She did have a mild Southern accent in real life, she just exaggerated it for the show because of what her character called for....
Jonathon Woodgate I thought I’d detected it too.
My Go To when I’m down or sick 😍🥰

Aww! Lovely comments! I love em all. I see them as my family somehow. They’re all gorgeous ladies.
I hope if I watch this part 1 of 9, there is in fact 8 more parts posted and not just a few of them are posted. :)
