- Praised by the critics for its gripping plotlines and historical drama, Showtime’s Fellow Travelers is the decades-long chronicle of the risky, volatile and steamy relationship between the charismatic and ambitious Hawk and the pious and idealistic Tim, two political staffers who fall in love at the height of the 1950s Lavender scare. Through the subsequent decades, the two men’s affair only intensifies despite the constant threat of being exposed and losing everything. Stars Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey converse with Tommy DiDario as they discuss the making of the show. Recorded August 15, 2024 at the Trevor Day School.

Jonathan Bailey pouring Matt Bomer’s water first is everything I ever needed to see 💜
IKR!🫠🫠🫠
Ditto! It was a move sexier than an actual s3x scene for me !
I want to express my deep gratitude to Jonathan Bailey and Matt Bomer for using their remarkable talent to document such an important chapter of gay history. Their portrayal not only beautifully captures the resilience of love in the face of oppression but also powerfully conveys the heartbreaking consequences faced by both gays and the straight people who love them. Their performances resonated deeply, reminding us of the courage and tragedy inherent in that experience.
Jonathan Bailey is such a dream!!
I was really moved when Jonathan poured Matt's water into a cup FIRST before he poured his own. The respect and familiarity shown MONTHS after the filmed together was amazing.
It was beautiful to see the love between these two characters. When you truly love someone & must remain apart, it is heartbreaking no matter who you are.
One of my favorite pieces of art! I can’t get enough of these two and the whole cast!!
So much prettiness on that stage!
@@RonaldElardo-tl1zh So?
This is one of my fave interviews. No copy & paste questions that have been asked by other outlets.

OMG...Jonny still gets choked up. Tim really is in his core... 23:38 42:52
So much “good “ came out for so many reasons because of this dynamic series..
A long time coming and a big act to follow ❤❤❤❤❤❤
love them
Showtime's Queer As Folk really opened my eyes to this intriguing other world.
And now this. ❤
Matt Bomer !!! 💖🔥
could you guys pleaseeeeeee repeat this event in the end of the year/ begning of 2025??????????
Did anyone else notice that Bomer couldn’t take his eyes off of Bailey?
It's mutual! Jonny absorbs Matt when he's talking...the chemistry is real, such love and appreciation for each other.
He really can't help himself, bless him.
I want to respect Matt's marriage but I have to admit part of me wishes it was REAL between these two.
Well it’s not so get over it.
@@ilabach Get a grip!
They aren't together of course, but I think the love between them IS real nonetheless.
In a way, Matt IS Hawk and Jonny IS Tim. One can be Neil or Jamie or Donovan or other, & the other Fiyero or Anthony or Dr. Loomis or other, but for me, their BEST roles, so far, have been HAWK AND TIM. They've made HISTORY because they FELT it. God bless them both!♥♥
Give them the Emmy👏👏👏👏🏳️🌈🏳️🌈
Tracy/Hepburn; Streisand/Redford; Bomer/Bailey
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
We need to see the candle wax version too... Just for comparison...
MEGA THROUPLE ON STAGE!
I can't with these two....Kindness!
Jonny pouring Matt's water FIRST is everything...1:32
SO Skippy! Caring for his Hawk...😢🫠🥰😍👬
A drama queen interviews two dramatic actors
16:39 so neglecting someone’s emotion not understanding the weigh of Tim’s word, undermining and belittling his words/beliefs especially when his crying is a ‘survival technique’ ?!. Why are they sugar coating Hawks behaviour in every interview ? It was mean and selfish for Hawk to say that and got nothing to do with survival Hawk lacks empathy as obviously shown him misleading and manipulating Tim. Which he changed in the 80s where he was so concerned just because Tim made some noise while sleeping imagine if he cried.
Don't think it's sugarcoating...just acknowledging the source of Hawk’s limitations...the fear and determination that drives him...without judgment. Actor's empathy
@@MaggieHarris-w3f ‘Actors empathy’ what does that mean ? Different way of empathising? Maybe I misunderstood? if Hawk slapped Tim’s face while he was crying will they say the same thing that it’s a survival technique? Because neglecting Tim’s emotion and calling the religion Tim have been believing for his entire life and been devoted an illusion can cause so much pain and confusion. Hawk was harsh to Tim and not considering of his feeling at all at that moment and I think they’re not speaking about it sugarcoating his behaviour. You can acknowledge the source of his limitation and empathise but also with not denying the damage he’s doing, sugarcoating. What he did was selfish and not right in that scene.
The characters are apart of the silent generation. The generation who fought in WWII, whose fathers fought in WWI, survived the Great Depression, etc. They're the generation of endurance, not feelings. You can't apply present day understanding to that level of survival.
@@ShelbyBaby27 being apart of the Silent Generation means people conforming to the system for safety and not fighting back , How is this related to Hawk not consoling Tim and not empathising in fact he was being mean, Hawk consoled Lucy when she was crying why he can’t do the same to Tim? Hawk was traumatised and was emotionally unavailable and was narcissistic and treated Tim really bad.
Bla bla bla....
