I was fortunate to have a private conversation with his late father Dr. Norman Geisler during a break at a conference in Merrimack, New Hampshire that I attended. His father’s books helped pull me back into my faith out of agnosticism.
So... You're saying that a book the Dr. Norman Geisler wrote helped strengthen your faith... Which according to biblical scripture is the Person of Christ working and operating in you? How does that align with the scripture verse that tells us that no one comes to God except God calls us to Himself? I'd suggest that it was the Lord who personally came and found you - as per the good shepherd leaving his flock to go find the one lost sheep - and brought you back to Himself... Perhaps using a book He allowed someone to write. Unfortunately, in your comment, I find exactly what's utterly in error in this RUclips presentation... This is that human reasoning is promoted over the work of the Spirit in God's one economy for the salvation of man. The apostle Paul's speaking is simply... Look... Away... To... Jesus... Who is the Author and Finisher of our faith... The very faith that we are to walk (meaning live) by. Just over an hour of speaking and only pointing to man's reasonings and self-effort... And little to nothing about looking away to Jesus... Or "...He who has ears to hear, hear what the Spirit is saying." And this is why the one Body of Christ, the one Church that He declared He would build, is in such poor condition. Lord help us get out of this quagmire of our own making that constantly stumbles us in the working out of our salvation. Amen.
Norm Geisler is the best! His story about not being able to read as a child and how God used him in spite of all that is awe-inspiring. To God be the Glory!!
@@skatter44... How did "...verbal defence, speech in defence, a reasoned statement or argument..." become providing earthly evidence of a spiritual matter... Beyond that of being living testimonies of our faith? It's not difficult to take Greek words that have multiple grammatical applications and try and make these words fit a personal agenda. Shoot, the folly Roman Catholic religion took what the Lord's mother said of herself and used it to make an idol out of her. Likewise, with what the Lord said to Peter, regarding building His church, to make a so-called first Pope out of him. To give a reason for the hope we have, we must first be subject to the Lord's speaking regarding denying ourselves, picking up our cross, and following Him... And the reason for this is simple... The Lord Himself must be the center and source of our living and being on this earth... We are to abide in Him, and express His Person as our person... For us, to live should be Christ... And not ourselves in our natural man trying to provide some kind of "...evidence..." that proves our belief. This means that it is our living Christ that is the actual proof that we provide others with. We read in 1 Peter 3:14-16... "...But even if you suffer because of righteousness, you are blessed. And do not be afraid with fear from them, nor be troubled, . . . But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, being always ready for a defense to everyone who asks of you an account concerning the hope which is in you, . . . Yet with meekness and fear, having a good conscience, so that in the matter in which you are spoken against, those who revile your good manner of life in Christ may be put to shame." This thought of Peter tells us that if we might "...suffer..." (be persecuted in one way or another and to one degree or another) "...because of righteousness, you are blessed..." (Matt. 5:10). Okay... But how are we blessed... 1 Peter 4:14... "...If you are reproached in the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you." This very "...Spirit of glory and of God...", being the Spirit of God Himself, rests upon the suffering believers in our persecution... For the glorifying of the resurrected and exalted Christ, who is now in glory (1 Pet. 4:13). This means that the Spirit of glory is the Spirit of God, through whom Christ was glorified in His resurrection (Rom. 1:4), is upon us for the purpose of expressing the glory of the risen Christ. And how does biblical scripture tell us we glorify Christ? 1... By faith, which is the substantiation of our hope, and the evidence of the unseen that we believe into. 2 Corinthians 1:18-20... "But as God is faithful, our word toward you is not yes and no. . . . For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you through us, through me and Silvanus and Timothy, did not become yes and no, but our word has become yes in Him. . . . For as many promises of God as there are, in Him is the Yes; therefore also through Him is the Amen to God, for glory through us to God." Beginning his above-quoted thought with "...But...", a coordinating conjunction, tells us that the apostle Paul is connecting ideas that contrast. In the preceding verse, the apostle referred to the charge that he was a man - in his flesh - of yes and no. In this verse, he defended himself by saying that because God is faithful, the word of their preaching was not yes and no according to the flesh. Therefore, they were not persons of fleshly yes and no... But rather, their being was according to their preaching, meaning, they lived according to what they preached. Which is why the apostle Paul declared... "...but our word has become yes in Him...". And the reality of "...in Him..." cannot be seen/proven in a physical earthly context... Other than in and through the actual living of the person whose "...word has become yes in Him..."... Which is in and through the exercising of faith. This is also supported by Paul's speaking in Romans 4:20... "But with regard to the promise of God, he did not doubt in unbelief, but was empowered by faith, giving glory to God." 2... By believing that all that we do is for God, who is unseen, and conducting ourselves accordingly. 1 Corinthians 10:31... "Therefore whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Every aspect of our daily moment-by-moment living, big or small, must be in the Holy Spirit, serving Christ, and therefore "...is well pleasing to God and approved by men." 1 Peter 4:9-11 tells us... "Be hospitable to one another without murmuring, . . . Each one, as he has received a gift, ministering it among yourselves as good stewards of the varied grace of God. . . . If anyone speaks, as speaking oracles of God; if anyone ministers, as ministering out of the strength which God supplies; that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom is the glory and the might forever and ever. Amen." By having the disposition of bringing God glory through exercising faith, unto an outward living and being that testifies to all that we are and do being for the glory of God... We testify to the unseen God we believe in... Our actual living on this earth becomes an evidential testimony of God... Evidence that in Him we live, move, and have our being. This brings us to this wonderful speaking by Peter... 1 Peter 2:4-5... "Coming to Him, a living stone, rejected by men but with God chosen and precious, . . . You yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house into a holy priesthood to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ." Is this not what God wants His people to testify to, as evidence of who He is and what He has done/accomplished? According to biblical scripture... Of course, it is. And this is further supported by what Peter continues to say... 1 Peter 2:6-12... "For it is contained in Scripture: “Behold, I lay in Zion a cornerstone, chosen and precious; and he who believes on Him shall by no means be put to shame.” . . . To you therefore who believe is the preciousness; but to the unbelieving, “The stone which the builders rejected, this has become the head of the corner,” . . . And, “A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense”; who stumble at the word, being disobedient, to which also they were appointed. . . . But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people acquired for a possession, so that you may tell out the virtues of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; . . . Who once were not a people but now are the people of God; who had not previously been shown mercy but have now been shown mercy. . . . Beloved, I entreat you as strangers and sojourners to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul, . . . Having your manner of life excellent among the Gentiles, so that in the matter concerning which they speak against you as evildoers they may, by your good works, as they see them with their own eyes, glorify God in the day of His visitation." And I would exhort the reading of the rest of 1 Peter, which presents to us how to live the earthly life that God has given us for the purpose of gaining Him and living Him out... Giving details showing the good works of the excellent manner of life, and through this, proclaiming the victory achieved by God, which is, that through Christ's death on the cross, God destroyed Satan and his power of darkness (Heb. 2:14; Col. 2:15). The need is to provide proof/evidence that we do have the Lord in our hearts. And that even in suffering persecution we should show others that we have Christ as Lord within us. This is the way to, before man, sanctify Him - to separate Him - from thoughts of other gods, and even there possibly being no God... And not degrading Him in trying to prove that He appears in lifeless (not having the life of God) things. The true and proper Christian life/living is an absolute inward paradigm shift regarding how we see reality, and apply what we see to our earthly living and being... Which is foolishness to the world. And when we try to use the way of the world to prove God, we are simply falling into the way of the world, which is foolishness to God. God has given us His beloved Son, Christ Jesus, to believe into, abide in, and live out. And this alone is what we should testify to. Hope the above helps what 1 Peter 3:15 is actually about. Amen.
Alisa, you should consider also making 12 shorter videos; one for each of Mr. Geisler's 12 points. I think shorter videos are less daunting to many of us. And so many jargon words to kind of wade through! I had to break it up into several sessions of viewing it to get through the whole thing. I still liked the video and enjoyed it. I have seen several of your videos recently and subscribed. You do a good job. Thank you.
Thank you for these 12 points that demonstrate Christianity! Will probably have to listen to this a few times to take it all in........... Alisa, thank you for continuing to point us to truth!
Such a good podcast. Our homeschool has gone through this podcast and the corresponding booklet point by point for 4 weeks. It's been phenomenal. Thank you Alisa and David! 👍
I've been w/you from the beginning and your search for deeper understanding and articulation of Christianity as a whole has been amazing . You either share what fruit you've found or point us to other reliable sources . The war against Progressive Christianity has created an immense battlefield . It is all around us in churches we never suspected or expected , just as you identified in your own church . You spoke up in defense of Gods' word and the fight was on . Sadly though , I wonder how many went along and were eventually deceived enough to embrace this false gospel of Progressive thought , and interpretation .. God Bless and keep you safe Alisa
I like the way Ray Comfort shows you why you're not good. There's a difference between God's good & worldly good. When you come to that understanding you can be changed.
I'm currently going through the book The Historical Reliability of the New Testament by Craig Blomberg and Robert Stewart. I just recently went through Craig Blomberg's The Historical Reliability of the Gospels.
Yes! 🎉 One of the most profound questions of all time was asked of our Savior by a Roman ruler: "What is Truth?" And two of life's most challenging adventures are 1) the adventure of discovering eternal truths and 2) aligning our lives with those eternal truths, or being true to The Truth.

The cosmological argument is not logic. It's complete, undemonstrated, assertion. We have no idea how universes get created. No idea at all. We can presume a pile of self-serving assertions if we want to, but this will only be convincing to people who either don't understand what a non-sequitur looks like or are already Christian and don't want to look to hard at it.

Such a great interview and the idea of pre-evangelism is great. That confirmed my personal understanding that if we add new methods to evangelism, dictated by the post-modern times (he mentions Gene Veith - book Post Modern times), that is OK, we are not compromising the Gospel as long as the end goal and core message of the Gospel remains "Jesus Christ and him crucified" because only this Gospel has the power to save / forgive people of their sins. I make this crucial distinction because many modern day Western evangelical churches, they modernize the Christian message by REPLACING the offensiveness of the Gospel (we are all sinners in need of Salvation and thank God there is salvation in Jessu Christ and Him crucified) with psychotherapy and life-coaching sprinkled in with heavy doses of entertainment.

i want to say Norm Geslier’s points are good and effective with some people, usually more with the intellectual crowd, and I have used them from time to time, but if you had tried to tell them to me before I came to know Jesus, I would have totally wrote you off, you see I was raised Catholic I was an alter boy heading in the direction of the priesthood, but I had a major problem, I also was a good sinner I kept the priest busy with my sins, I knew I was guilty, I did all my are fathers and hail Mary’s and I prayed to the dead, sorry I should have said the saints, but of course their all dead, so I left Catholicism saying God is dead, and your nothing but a bunch of liars, but why would I say that? because the guilt of my sins was not removed that dead Jesus on the crucifix nailed through the palm of the hands was useless, and anyone who thinks about it would to be truthful would say that is correct because their is no bones in the palm of the hand to hold a body on the cross, it would just fall off, the truth was that in the Greek the hand went from the finger tips to 1/2 way up the arm we now call the wrist , so i was sick and tired of being lied to, what happened to me was I got to the point of smoking at least 3 pkg. cigarettes a day, coughing up blood, I knew I was at deaths door I tried slowing down for a hour then smoke 3 in a row to make up for it, I tried cold turkey, put on 20 lbs. went back to smoking to get rid of the weight, I tried nicoban the chewing gum I smoked with it, I was invited to these christian’s house at 9 PM. on a Sunday night, I didn’t want to go but the wife babysat for us so to not get into a huge argument I reluctantly went putting 12 cigarettes in the ash tray in 2 hrs. I listened to them not believing what they were saying ,that Jesus was God he was alive and he had power, but I left there and I challenged God I said God IF your real take this smoking habit away from me, he did, I went a whole week with the 13 side of my export A pkg. in my pocket and my lighter and never thought of having a cigarette, the next week I went to church because their son had been asking me for a long time as he would get points in Sunday school, I asked Jesus into my heart to forgive me, he did what no priest, bishop, not even the pope himself could do, Jesus removed the guilt of my sins, there is much more, I am a walking miracle, more another time, but I said all this to say, a couple of things, one christianity is not a religion it is a relationship, two doing evangelism basically from the tine I was saved, at times i would get into various methods that work on some people some times, but not always, I have discovered evangelism is listening to The Holy Spirit example I am in a city I have never been in The waitress about 20 yrs. old, comes. to serve us, the Holy spirit says don’t marry the guy you are with, I. told her I had no idea she was getting she was getting married within a few weeks, which this started a great. conversation about who Jesus is, who’s is just one incident there has been. many others, as each person is different, at times. it’’s been proving God exist which is no problem,, or buying a person a meal, or. just listening, I. thought i. would say. That Jesus. said. many. more times. than 3. that. he. was God. example. when. he said, I am. the. bread of. life,,”. in the Greek. this is. If you read this, please pray for my husband, John, to stop smoking cigarettes. He has tried to stop many times. He had a heart attack last year and bypass surgery and stopped smoking for awhile, but has started again. Oh my gosh. He knows how much I hate it that he smokes, but nagging doesn't work, so I don't. He knows it's not healthy, of course, but it's a powerful addiction. I worry about him , but there's nothing I can do. I cannot make him stop smoking, but G-d can. So I just pray. Thanks and blessings.
Jesus has the power but the ? is do i want the freedom after only week of total freedom not even a thought nor having a cigarette,I had to learn to resist satan, I prayed a simple prayer “Lord take the urge away” I prayed every time I had the urge it took for me eight months of resisting the devil, until he gave up and left me alone, he has no power over us unless we give him the power, that’s why God says resist the devil and he will flee from us, so it is simply obedience to Jesus, just do as he says, and you will have the victory
in point # 7 about Jesus claiming to be God, He said he was God many more times than many recognize, example when he said “ I am ‘ in the english it is simply as I would say “ I am roy” but this is not so in the Greek it is unemphatic form of the greek word “ eimi “ = I Am the greek word for “ I “ is “ego” so the Greek would be in english “ I, I am,” so when Jesus says I am the bread of life, good Shepard, the resurrection, etc. the Jews knew exactly what he was saying, the prime example ( although there are others ) is John 8:58…”Jesus answered before Abraham was born I am” in Greek “ I, I am,” a reference back to Exodus 3:14 God speaks to Moses at the burning bush that is not consumed, the Jews picked up stones to stone him, I have often said especially to muslim’s “ if I said I was God you would burst out laughing, so would the Jews, but the Jews knew what Jesus was saying was true, but they didn’t want a suffering servant, coming gentle and meek, on the colt of a donkey, they wanted a conquering hero on a white horse to destroy the roman’s, if you think of scr. from this point, The Jews knew the scriptures like the back of their hand, they knew the 330 prophesies of the messiah on their part it wasn’t, a knot knowing but rather a rejection, he didn’t fit what they wanted,
At about the 16:22 mark, he talks about how his sister committed suicide and he didn’t understand how he could be happy in heaven without his sister there. This is implying that people who commit suicide don’t go to heaven. I don’t believe that’s biblical at all. Alisa can you comment on this?
Not Biblical at all. Jesus himself committed suicide when you get right down to it. It totally depends on the mindset and motivation of the person at the time.
@@skippy675 I don't think its biblical but i don't think Jesus committed suicide either. Suicide is the taking of your own life because you don't want to live anymore. Jesus took on the punishment of death for us that we deserved. John 15:13 “Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends." It's like if a man was about to be killed in a tribe somewhere by their leaders because he broke the law. But the man's father, because of his love for his son, said he will take the place of the son and be killed instead. Would you say that suicide? Or if a soldier dives on a grenade to save his friends from being killed. Would you call that suicide? Of course not. Also we know that Jesus didn't want to physically die, but he knew it was the Father's will and he was here to do the fathers will. Luke 22:42 "Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done."
@@TheHedgemo60 we can argue semantics all day. Of course a soldier jumping on a grenade or Jesus are more commonly called marytrs since they give their life for a cause they believe in. The bigger points is that any of the teaching crap attributed to Jesus is very much secondary. He said nothing revolutionary that has not been said by others in cultures before his arrival. The main purpose of Jesus was to be the pound of flesh for the slaughter. The whipping boy for the wrath of God. The scapegoat. You get the idea.
M daughter committed suicide, and I am looking forward to seeing her again in Heaven. Jesus said There is only ONE unforgivable sin. And it’s not suicide.
Alisa, I have heard you say in this video around 40:00 that angels saw God create the world out of nothing, and Allen Parr say that angels were created before Gen 1:1. Now I appreciate all you both do, but i think a friendly reminder that before Gen 1:1 there was nothing...no space , matter, time and energy relating between them. There was no person or realm of spirituality except for God. The moment of infinite existence before God's work of creation is defined as solely God with no other thing but him. He was no where with no thing because there was no 'was' (time), no 'where' (space) and no 'thing' (matter). Therefore any inference that angels saw his creation from nothing (ex nihlo) or that angels existed prior to any creative work of God seems a dangerous statement to make. While God did call many things into existence (let there be; let the waters bring forth) it would be a stretch to say that that is the same as created out of nothing since there was a lot of something when those events took place. Also the foundation of the world/earth (אֶדֶן - Job 38:6) is a practical description of how God planted the earth in its place (as contrasted against all the heavens of 1:1), even as a formless unenergized chaotic void (1:2a) or even a rotating mass of mud/water/dirt (1:2b). While there is light, rotation, morning and evening, an expanse, land, water, and greenery...there would seem to no orbital place/base/pedistal/foundation until day four...but the earth has its place for 3 days with evening and morning. At best the angels were created in day one or by day 4...but certainly not prior to 1:1. Just a thought for you to consider as you study and speak on these things. God bless.
Thanks for this. Could you spend a little time addressing your reasons for not sticking to presuppositional apologetics. I really think presupposionalists are going in with their hands tied behind their backs. But they use a lot of scripture (out of context) to say that we can’t use arguments from outside the Bible.
@@downenout8705 but ethics are a "thing." I knew some wonderful people of faith; I know more who are ghastly humans. I do not know one unbeliever who is a ghastly human. Granted this is anecdotal, but if one needs "god" to be good, then one is not truly good.
The biggest threat to Christianity isn’t "post modernism“ where truth is subjective. at 39:00 you go from laughing at people who believe you can get something from nothing, then say its fine to bel;ieve that jesus can make something from nothing..... you also believe that god created the universe out of nothing. Im not sure that you realise its you that believes in something from nothing, so when you say thats a ridiculous belief, you are talking about yourself.
Hello all, I'll just say straight away that I am unconvinced by the claims of the supernatural world. I find the evidence presented to be insufficient to allow me to become convinced to then believe. Many thanks Alice
Unfortunately, there is no evidence a naturalist would count as evidence for the existence of a creator. Proof: Name anything that could possibly count as evidence of a creator aside from the standard cop out of "God would know".
Praise the Lord for your unbelief... According to the biblical scripture that you, understandably, don't believe (because according to it, you can't)... It is God who has blinded you to Himself... And will keep you blind to Himself until He is ready to open your eyes. It really isn't rocket science. If there is a God of all creation... Then even your unbelief is of this God. Yet... You will die one day... Death awaits you... Of that, I'm sure you know. And when you die... Who knows what happens... Not even science. Maybe we should all just say, "...Good luck..." to one another. Or we could just... Hope. What does it cost us... Our vanity? The etymology of vanity... Nothingness. What's nothingness worth? Amen.
@@aboveandbeyond9844 Thanks for your reply 'Above' you asked what does it cost to believe? I've been thinking about this. Believing in Jesus or Allah for that matter is not without costs. For a start, many Christians are required to pay 10% of the wages to people in their church. So there is a financial cost for a start. This is a direct cost of 10% each week for your life and is actually a serious amount of money for some people. Next, there is the time spent in your church. Not only Sunday mornings but often other times in the week. Time is precious as we only have a limited amount. You 'might' think that the Muslims being called to pray 5 times a day is a waste of their time because you will only believe that your god is the correct one. Next beliefs inform actions and you may vote for a government official that is also of the same religion rather than say an atheist. That is regardless of their policies. For example, 50% of the people in the US have lost access to medical healthcare t the moment because voters have picked religious candidates over science and humanity. Sorry, but I think there is a cost to believing and it's certainly not harmless. If you are unconvinced what would you think to say Muslims being in power in the US and running the country as a religious state-controlled country like Iraq is at the moment. Where women are controlled and men are in power. Would you think that society has no costs and is good for all? Just asking you to think about what you've heard other people tell you. Trying to be respectful at the same time and I am very open to any comments and pushback you may have. Thanks, Alice
@@EclecticHottie Hello EclecticH, thanks for your message. Please may I ask when you say you were angry at god and searching for him, to me this assumes that you already believed in your god. I mean you are probably not angry at Allah or Brahama because you don't think they are real do you. This is not what you are telling me. You believed in your god and were angry at him so I am not sure how you then found the truth of your god. I mean being unconvinced that the supernatural is real to being convinced so you can then believe it. Everyone needs to be convinced of any claim first before they can then believe it. Does that make sense? Maybe could you tell me do you remember when you first learned of your god, please? How old were you and who told you. I remember being very young and my family told me of Jesus, then my school, community, and really it was everywhere. What experience did you have to know that god was real when you were 21 to be searching for him. Again you were not searching for Thor or Zeus, were you? Many thanks, Alice
@@alicedeen720... And thank you for your thoughtful response. First of all, let me say that there is nothing in the New Testament biblical scripture that tells us that we are required to pay a 10% tithe/offering... That is only error taught by many so-called church leaderships. So there is no financial cost. Regarding "...time spent in church..."... This is a choice, not a requirement... And it is when carried out in a proper biblical manner, an enjoyment for the believer and therefore a profit, not a cost. Regarding "...beliefs inform actions..."... This is normal for all properly functioning humans... It doesn't matter if you believe there is a God, or don't believe there is a God... Both are beliefs and therefore "...inform actions..." An atheist votes according to what they believe. Regarding "...there is a cost to believing and it's certainly not harmless..."... There is a cost for being a living human... We consume food, we live in homes, we wear clothes, we work jobs... All of our living has a cost attached to it... And as we are finding out... Our living is certainly harmful. And in relation to our human living... If we actually follow what biblical scripture tells us regarding what our human living should be... People who claim to be Christian should be living small, humble lives. And if you're not... Then you're not living a true Christian living. Regarding "...Muslims being in power in the US and running the country as a religious state..."... I'd just say praise the Lord, because according to biblical scripture, it is God who places certain people in government... And as such... God being righteous, just, and good... It would be "...good for all...". See, Alice... According to biblical scripture... God's ways are not our ways... God's thoughts are not our thoughts... And so we will always struggle to see seemingly negative things that we encounter in our life as being good for us because God knows what's good for us. And this is really the crux of the matter regarding our view of God... If there is a God, as presented in biblical scripture... In the areas that this God doesn't meet our personal preferences... We will have a problem with God. Which is to say... As long as God meets our requirements, we'd be good with God... Which really means... We want to be the God of God. And there can't be two Gods. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to respond to your considerations. Amen.
So... he's saying people that commit sue-ci-de go to hell? I think people that do that are mentally unwell. Please show in the Bible that says this. The same is true for the try... other is no try. There is ONLY do or do not.
My Christian faith has an abundance of evidence from science, history, archeology, prophecy, and Jesus' words. His words strike me as so Divine! Thank-you Alisa for your apologetic podcasts, they have strengthened my faith.
Oh for goodness sake, there, absolutely, is not "an abundance of evidence from science" that 1 Corinthians 15: 14 is true. Science tells us that 37.2 trillion dead and rotting eucaryotic cells stay dead and rotting and they absolutely do not magically come back to life. No history, no archeology, no prophecy just a few hundred words in a collection stories written by anonymous authors decades after the supposed event and a few sentences in some letters from a man named Paul.
@@soaringeagle5227 What a vacuous reply, why don't you cite a source that provides evidence in support of the biblical resurrection claim other than what I cite. I guarantee that you won't, because you can't, because there is none. I guess the truth is just relative to you.
Nobody can completely understand the Bible unless they understand the relationship between the Old Covenant given to Moses at Mount Sinai and the New Covenant fulfilled in blood at Calvary. What brings all local churches together into one Body under the blood of Christ? The answer is found below. New Covenant Whole Gospel: Let us now share the Old Testament Gospel found below with the whole world. On the road to Emmaus He said the Old Testament is about Him. He is the very Word of God in John 1:1, 14. Awaken Church to this truth. Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by husband unto them, saith the LORD: Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Is the most important genealogy in the Bible found in Matthew 1:1 (Gal. 3:16)? Is God's Son the ultimate fulfillment of Israel (John 1:49)? Why has the modern Church done a pitiful job of sharing the Gospel with modern Orthodox Jews? Why would someone tell them they are God's chosen people and then fail to share the Gospel with them? Who is the seed of the woman promised in Genesis 3:15? Who is the "son" in Psalm 2? Who is the "suffering servant" of Isaiah 53? Who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34? Who would fulfill the timeline of Daniel chapter 9 before the second temple was destroyed? Why have we not heard this simple Old Testament Gospel preached on Christian television in the United States on a regular basis? Once a person comes to understand the New Covenant promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34, which is found fulfilled by Christ during the first century in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:16-18, and specifically applied to the Church in 2 Corinthians 3:6-8, and Hebrews 12:22-24, man-made Bible doctrines fall apart. Let us now learn to preach the whole Gospel until He comes back. The King of Israel is risen from the dead! (John 1:49, Acts 2:36) We are not come to Mount Sinai in Hebrews 12:18. We are come instead to the New Covenant church of Mount Zion and the blood in Hebrews 12:22-24. 1Jn 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. 1Jn 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. 1Jn 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. Watch the RUclips videos “The New Covenant” by David Wilkerson, or Bob George, and David H.J. Gay.
@Genesis 12:3 = Matthew 25:31-46 Christians speak of scriptures as being this or that as a salvation issue, here Jesus made this a salvation issue Himself in Matthew 25:31-46 No teasing out scriptures or extrapolations needed, it's as plain as the Sun shine. Jesus made this a salvation issue in Matthew 25:31-46, and before He returns I'd recommend the same. God bless you on your journey ❤️
To honour the truth and change the world for the better would you admit atheism is a logical fallacy that assumes God is the religious idea of the creator of the creation to conclude wrongly that no creator exists because a particular idea of God doesn’t exist? An example of the atheist logical fallacy is the quote by Epicurus “Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?”. With the arguments presented Epicurus can only conclude that an omnipotent and benevolent God doesn’t exist, never that God doesn't exist. Atheism defends an idea without any arguments and the result are nonsensical remarks like "who created God?" and many others. God is necessary for existence because nothing can be created from nothing because nothing is absence of existence. To defeat atheism you don't have to defend your particular idea of God. The discovery that atheism is a logical fallacy, a deceitful reasoning, a lie that is taught to beautiful, innocent and vulnerable children, needs to be news.
Alisa, Your discussion with David was based on human understanding, without divine knowledge. The 12 points are replete with holes, baseless assertions and certainly do not demonstrate that Christianity is true. Even the devil can perform miracles, and speak to one's mind or be an agent of light to exilarate a distracted soul. What I must address here is critical - it's a matter of life or death, to you, to me and to all who are reading. I start by making a divide: ▪︎You are Christian; you embrace the doctrine "Salvation is free, by faith and by God's grace". ▪︎I am a disciple (student and servant) of Jesus Christ; I have followed the Way of Jesus. Now I make the following statements: ▪︎I say to you that Christians do not follow the Way Jesus Christ, but they do act and speak as if they do. ▪︎Jesus was never a "Christian" - for the disciples of Paul were first called "Christians" in Antioch (Act 11:26) ▪︎Christians enter a wide gate and walk on the broad road, with others in merriment, even love-feasting, but all that leads to Hell. Mt 7:13b ▪︎Disciples of Jesus enter through a narrow gate, walk on the narrow road with considerable difficulties and pain, that leads to Life. Mt 7:14 Therefore, Alisa, the situation now is this: either (a) you are saved and will have life, and I am lost and will go to Hell; or (b) I am saved and will have life, and you are lost and will go to Hell. I tell you in truth, with much sadness that (b) is the final verdict on Judgement Day. But now, I have to prove to you, lest I'ld be just talking gusts of hot air. A °°°°°°°°° What is the Way of Jesus? ¤ Consider these words of Jesus: Jn 3:16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life." Jn 14:6 “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." ¤ Concerning the "Way", one needs to find a gate to enter, then to walk on the road in search of everlasting life. Jn 7:13 "You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate." Jn 10:7-8 “I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. All who came before me were thieves and robbers. But the true sheep did not listen to them." Jn 7:14 "But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it." ¤ Now say that we have entered the narrow gate, we need now to traverse on that difficult road: Jn 1:43 "Come, follow me." Jn 10:27 "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me." Mat 16:24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me." Luk 14:26 “If you want to be my disciple, you must, by comparison, hate everyone else-your father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters-yes, even your own life. Otherwise, you cannot be my disciple." Mat 10:22 "And all nations will hate you because you are my followers. But everyone who endures to the end will be saved." Mat 5:11 “God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers." ¤ After we have completed journeying the Way of Jesus: Jn 14:6 “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." ▪︎ we have completed our discipleship training ▪︎ we have received the truth - understanding and knowledge about the Kingdom of Heaven. Mt 11:13 ▪︎ we have been given eternal life. Jn 3:36 Jn 17:3 "And this is the way to have eternal life-to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth." Jn 17:7 "I have revealed you to the ones you gave me from this world." Jn 17:19 "And I give myself as a holy sacrifice for them so they can be made holy by your truth." Jesus's way: • sanctifying the sinner through discipleship training (taking one's cross daily to die to one's sin nature) • imbuing in the disciple understanding of all things, and righteousness (knowledge of good and of evil) • cleansing of one's past sins by Jesus’s holy sacrifice of himself. Jesus says his Way - Jesus's Way is THE only way to salvation. Those who have made a start on the "Way", by receiving the Holy Spirit, they will already receive eternal life. B°°°°°°°°° What is the Way of Paul? ¤ Consider these words of Paul: Eph 2:8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Rom 10:9 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Rom 10:10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. Rom 4:16 So the promise is received by faith. It is given as a free gift. And we are all certain to receive it, whether or not we live according to the law of Moses, if we have faith like Abraham’s. For Abraham is the father of all who believe. Rom 5:20 God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant. So, the Christian's way to salvation is premised on Paul’s teachings: • you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and • you believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, • then you will be saved. • even if you sin again and again, don't fret because God will simply increase His grace to match your increased sins. This gospel is the foundation of practically all churches of man. It is the wide church "gate" that is opened wide, for many to enter to walk on the broad road that leads to Hell. Mt 7:13b "The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way." Elisa, are you going to deny that you have followed Paul, but not Jesus? And now can you see why (b) is correct - I am saved and will have life, and you are lost and will go to Hell. Can you not see that you have been deceived? See how slimily tricky the devil is: ¤ you are standing on a stage, where all things on the stage appear to be paraphernalia of the genuine Gospel of Jesus Christ. ¤ but unbeknown to you, the stage on which the puppeteer set you on is built on a lie - the false gospel of Paul. Didn't Jesus say all who came before him are thieves and robbers? Jn 10:7-8 If you put Paul or your church before Jesus in your pursuit of life, then know this: Paul and your church are the thieves and robbers! Instead, go learn from the Teacher - the only true Teacher, Jesus. If you faithfully follow him, he will ask the Father to send you the Holy Spirit. Jn 14:16 "And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you." Jn 14:26 "But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative-that is, the Holy Spirit-he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you." Are you the sheep that will hear his voice and follow him? Jn 10:3 Or, are you a goat, bleating away like sheep but cannot hear his calling?
one point: my faith in God (Heb 11.1), given by God (Phil 1.29). apologetics by definition undermines faith by placing science and reason between God and men and by elevating the authority of science and reason above that of scripture.

Lord help us... Not one word regarding looking away to Jesus, or having ears to hear what the Spirit is saying... Just, over and over... The uplifting of natural man's capacity to reason things out by our own natural human intellect. This is just more exposing of the foolishness of so-called "...apologetics...". KISS... Keep it simple, stupid. Present Jesus... Just present Jesus... That's it... That's all that is needed... Just as scripture tells us. DON'T GIVE WAY TO YOUR FALLEN NATURAL HUMAN VANITY SO THAT IT GETS INVOLVED. Why is this so hard for us to do? Jesus' declaration was absolutely clear... DENY YOURSELF... DENY YOUR SOUL LIFE... Not affirm your natural man reasoning ability and prowess. Luke 12: 11-12... "And when they bring you before the synagogues and the rulers and the authorities, do not be anxious about how or what you should reply in defense, or what you should say; . . . For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that hour what should be said." Do you see that? "...For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that hour what should be said." And yet not one word was spoken in this hour-long RUclips presentation was said about having an ear to hear what the Spirit is saying... So that you will know what to say. Are folks here utterly ignorant about, or simply choose to ignore, the following scripture... John 7:37-39... "Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. . . . He who believes into Me, as the Scripture said, out of his innermost being shall flow rivers of living water. . . . But this He said concerning the Spirit, whom those who believed into Him were about to receive; for the Spirit was not yet, because Jesus had not yet been glorified." What is there that you don't get regarding people needing to come to Jesus... Yes... Jesus... Not you or me... Jesus... That they may drink of Jesus. Having them drink from our own natural human reasoning is just death that we are giving them to drink. Wake up, folks... And how do people come to Jesus and drink Him? He told us... "...He who believes into Me, as the Scripture said, out of his innermost being shall flow rivers of living water." We need to trust - believe into - Jesus at all times... Including when He brings us in contact with someone... Anyone... And not believe into some kind of contrived "...apologetics..." training that we've read about or listened to. Away with that foolishness that only produces more death. Jesus declared... Listen to Him... John 10:10... "...The thief does not come except to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and may have it abundantly." That's Jesus declaring that He came so that we all may have "...ZOE..."... Divine life... Resurrection life... The life that is given to us by the Spirit of life... John 6:63... "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words which I have spoken to you are spirit and are life." These "...words which I have spoken to you are spirit and are life...", are the very same words that the Spirit is speaking to those who have ears to hear what the Spirit is saying... They are the very same words that the Spirit will give teach us "...in that hour..."... They are the very words from our "...innermost being..." out of which "...shall flow rivers of living water." Do you not trust what biblical scripture ACTUALLY tells you? Or do you think it more prudent to listen and receive what some person is speaking in and out of their natural man... Which is to say, speaking in and out of death. Come out of this folly, saints... Enough is enough. Or do you not want the Lord to return? Perhaps you're all having too good a time in your earthly/worldly pursuits... Too much fun living to good ol' earthly/worldly life to bother any about bringing the Lord back... Even hastening His return. Yeh... That's right... Or don't you know that scripture tells us we can hasten the Lord's return... 2 Peter 3:11-18... "Since all these things are to be thus dissolved, what kind of persons ought you to be in holy manner of life and godliness, . . . Expecting and hastening the coming of the day of God, on account of which the heavens, being on fire, will be dissolved, and the elements, burning with intense heat, are to be melted away? . . . But according to His promise, we are expecting new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness wells. . . . Therefore, beloved, since you expect these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace without spot and without blemish; . . . And count the long-suffering of our Lord to be salvation, even as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, wrote to you, . . . As also in all his letters, speaking in them concerning these things, in which some things are hard to understand, which the unlearned and unstable twist, as also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction. . . . You therefore, beloved, since you know these things beforehand, be on your guard lest being carried away by the error of the lawless, you fall from your own steadfastness. . . . But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and unto the day of eternity. Amen." Did you catch it? Hidden right near the beginning of the above-quoted scripture... This... "...Expecting and hastening the coming of the day of God...". Yep... We ought "...to be in [a] holy manner of life and godliness,..."... Which includes our "...Expecting and hastening the coming of the day of God...". And do you think that having a disposition of confidence in our natural man - what is often referred to as our "...flesh..." - is the way to be found in a "...holy manner of life and godliness..."? No... It isn't... Here's what the apostle Peter said is needed... "...But according to His promise, we are expecting new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness wells. . . . Therefore, beloved, since you expect these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace without spot and without blemish;...". How much are you giving yourself to hasten the coming day of the Lord? Are you giving your every moment of every day to hasten the Lord's return? Are you, Alisa... As you sit making these video presentations... Or work on your upcoming stage performances... Are you desperately considering the hastening of the Lord's coming? Or are you just thinking about how successful you'll be in your earthly endeavors (and just what constitutes success is another matter... let's hope it isn't mammon and/or human vanity)... Albeit in the guise of serving God. And no... I'm not judging anyone... I'm just hopefully speaking what the Spirit has given me to speak... Isaiah 40:3... "The voice of one who cries in the wilderness: Make clear the way of Jehovah; make straight in the desert a highway for our God." This is how we ought to be "...Expecting and hastening the coming of the day of God...". It is the proper disposition of a Christian believer... A believer of the Way. And what is the "...Way...", if not the High Way prepared for our God... Christ Jesus. May the Lord have mercy on us... And supply us with the measure of grace we need to cause us all to come back to this "...Way..."... Which is just the Lord as the way of our daily, moment-by-moment living and being on this earth as we live out the time God has given us for this purpose only. Amen.
You do realize what apologetics is, correct? It’s Biblical? We have to know how to give an answer for our faith? That’s what we’re doing here. It’s the “how to and why” video. You missed the entire point of this. That’s too bad.
@@kellyanne7225 says... "You do realize what apologetics is, correct?" Sure do... Quite clearly actually... Perhaps, given Alisa's and David Geisler's speaking in this video, more so than either of them... And possible, it seems, also than yourself. Moving on... You continued... "It’s Biblical?" Well... Yes... The English word "... apologetics..." is the translation of a Greek word used in New Testament scripture... But according to New Testament scripture, the Greek word "...ἀπολογέομαι..." (transliterated as "apologeomai", and from which we get the word "apologetics"), translated into English as "...answered for himself..." or sometimes as "... defense...", means "...to give an account (legal plea) of oneself, i.e. exculpate (self):-answer (for self), make defense, excuse (self), speak for self." So here we see that the specific meaning and use of the word from which we get "...apologetics...", is that of defending yourself... Which in this context, would be related to your "...Christian belief...", meaning, make a spoken defense for our Christian belief. For a quick definition of the matter of "...apologetics..." let's take a look at what's written on Wikipedia (yes, I know, but it was quick to look up)... Wikipedia says, "...Christian apologetics combines Christian theology, natural theology, and philosophy to present a rational basis for the Christian faith, to defend the faith against objections and misrepresentation, and that the Christian doctrine is the only world view that is faultless and consistent with all fundamental knowledge and questions. Sounds wonderful to the natural human ear... But there's more... Wikipedia also says... "...Christian apologists employ a variety of philosophical and formal approaches, including ontological, cosmological, and teleological arguments. The Christian presuppositionalist approach to apologetics utilizes the transcendental argument for the existence of God." Again... Fairly reasonable to the natural human ear. But the above is actually the antithesis to what biblical scripture says regarding the matter of a Christian believer giving a defense for our belief. And here we encounter the phrase, "...our belief..."... Which is the English translation of the Greek word "...πίστις..." (transliteration "pistis"), which defines "...conviction of the truth of anything, belief; in the NT of a conviction or belief respecting man's relationship to God and divine things, generally with the included idea of trust and holy fervour born of faith and joined with it...". See that word, "...conviction..."... It is speaking to the inward being of a human... It is speaking about a "...mental state of being convinced or fully persuaded..." about something. Therefore, when speaking about the matter of "...apologetics...", we are - or should be - speaking about giving a verbal defense for our inward "...mental state of being..." regarding our being "...convinced or fully persuaded..." of the matter of Christ Jesus, as presented in biblical scripture. Good... But what is typical of accepted apologetics in Christianity, is a reliance on defending our belief by pointing to outward things (seen things as opposed to unseen things) that many believe can be used along with "...Christian theology, natural theology, and philosophy... including ontological, cosmological, and teleological arguments...", to prove the God who is presented in biblical scripture. This though, is not "...Biblical..."... It is the contrive of natural man... Natural-man who, let's not forget, is fallen. Biblical scripture is very clear in its simplicity regarding how we who are born again of God should speak to whomever God brings us in contact with... Even specifically speaking in regards to defending our Christian belief... Luke 12:11-12... "And when they bring you before the synagogues and the rulers and the authorities, do not be anxious about how or what you should reply in defense, or what you should say; . . . For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that hour what should be said." See this... "...do not be anxious about how or what you should reply in defense, or what you should say..."... The Lord is speaking about, in Greek, "...apologeomai...", or, in English, "...apologetics...". So please allow me to repeat verse 11... "...And when they bring you before the synagogues and the rulers and the authorities, do not be anxious about how or what you should reply in defense, or what you should say;...". And why should we "...not be anxious..."? Is it because we have honed our skills at debating in defense of our belief... Is that what the Lord, whom we should listen to in order that we might be good servants to His will/need, said in the above-quoted verse? No... It certainly isn't, right. What the Lord said is, don't be anxious, because... "...For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that hour what should be said." Very clear. Unfortunately... Humans prefer not to listen to, and take the way of, the Lord... Even Christian believers. Perhaps it's just not as exciting as puffing up ourselves with various levels of acquired "...knowledge..." in order to prove that we are something extraordinary. And yet, we know from biblical scripture that God hates the puffed-up being of fallen natural man. Cont' in my following comment...
Continued from above... See this video presentation... It was all about the puffed-up being of Alisa's and Shane's fallen man... And therefore was nothing of Christ Jesus... Meaning... Was all anti-Christ in its substance... And before anyone gets bent out of shape... Please remember the Lord's own words... Matthew 12:30... "He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters." Nothing that either presenter said was in or of the Lord. Sure... There may have been lots of references to the Lord... But we know that even in the folly religion of Catholicism you can hear lots of references to the Lord. The thing is... God accepts no mixture... He accepts only Christ Jesus, and nothing else, even if it is just a little of something else... Because we know from scripture that a little leaven leavens the whole batch. The Lord doesn't need natural-man to fill in any areas natural man feels he can fill in using his knowledge and reasoning skills... All the Lord needs is that we have ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to us (teaching us) "...in that hour...", so that we know "...what should be said." Which brings us to this that you said... "We have to know how to give an answer for our faith? That’s what we’re doing here. It’s the “how to and why” video." Well... Unfortunately, Kelly Anne... It's NOT what was done here in this video presentation. Now it might have been the seemingly good intention behind the speaking in this video presentation... But I'm sure you know the old adage... "The way the hell is paved with man's good intentions." Many, many years ago, while I was struggling with how to pray to the Lord about a matter, He revealed to me a very simple solution to overcoming my struggle... He said... "Just pray what God is speaking to you... What prayer is more powerful than God's own words spoken back to Him... Just remind God of what He has said...". This simple correcting word from the Lord completely revolutionized my relationship with God. John 6:63... "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words which I have spoken to you are spirit and are life." What is better than speaking "...spirit and life..."? And those "...words..." that the Lord was referring to... Well, scripture tells us they come straight out of God the Father... John 12:49-50... "For I have not spoken from Myself; but the Father who sent Me, He Himself has given Me commandment, what to say and what to speak. . . . And I know that His commandment is eternal life. The things therefore that I speak, even as the Father has said to Me, so I speak." Now tell me, Kelly Ann... If it was the proper way for Jesus to take... Shouldn't it be the proper way for us? You continued... "You missed the entire point of this. That’s too bad." Well... The Lord knows... And that's all that really matters. But what is "...bad..." is when a born-again of God believer misses the mark and God sends one of His servants to correct them... And they reject God's correction that the servant is speaking. And how can someone know that what is being said is of God? If it is one with what is being presented in God's breathed-out word, which tells us... 2 Timothy 3:16-17... "All Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for conviction, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, . . . That the man of God may be complete, fully equipped for every good work." And my only desire regarding my speaking here, and in all places and at all times, is that it helps "...the man of God may be complete, fully equipped for every good work." Now I believe you work with Alisa, Kelly Ann... And if this is correct, she has my email address and, if the lord leads her to, can contact me about this or any other matter I've addressed on her RUclips video presentations, or about other things pertaining to God's economy for the full salvation of man. I'm happy to fellowship with her about the things of God... As it is an intrinsic part of the building up of the one Body of Christ, the one Church that He declared He would build. There's a reason why God had you contact me with a response, Kelly Ann... And I don't believe it was to tell me that I "...missed the entire point of this..." video, and that's "...too bad...". May the Lord gain what He desires to gain in this, and all matters. Amen.
Continuing from my comment just above... You said... "While I agree with most of what you have said, this statement “…trying to provide some kind of "...evidence..." that proves our belief.” shows that you don’t understand what role apologetics should play in a follower of Jesus. It’s not about “proving” anything. We are to give answers that are reasonable, but that still leave room for the person to reject it." Sean... I am very clear regarding what apologetics is and is for. But from your own words, it doesn't seem that you are. And "...answers..." that we give someone who is questioning our faith should only declare Christ Jesus by being out of Christ Jesus, and pointing to Christ Jesus... And not by pointing people to our skill of presenting our reasoning about this or that. And we should do so according to the leading of the Spirit at that moment... Luke 12:11-12... "And when they bring you before the synagogues and the rulers and the authorities, do not be anxious about how or what you should reply in defense, or what you should say; . . . For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that hour what should be said." For you to say... "It’s not about “proving” anything. We are to give answers that are reasonable, but that still leave room for the person to reject it."... Is meaningless. Why? Because biblical scripture clearly tells us that we can only plant or water... And that it is God alone who gives the growth (think of proving something to someone as them growing with the growth of God). In other words... It's not about us giving "...answers that are reasonable, but that still leave room for the person to reject it."... It's about us opening our mouths and allowing rivers of living water to flow out of us, in the hope of a seed being planted, or an already planted seed being watered... And God giving growth. Scripture is clear... All things, which includes all people, are subject to God... And when we speak we should have the disposition that declares this truth. I'm not here trying to convince anyone of anything... I'm here speaking God, in the hope that He has prepared the hearts of those who read what I write, that they might receive it as seed, or watering, and that He is faithful to cause growth. My "...apologeomai..." is to be Christ... In both my speaking and my living and being... And this is the only "...apologeomai..." there is before God... Anything else is just natural man's vanity. Christ alone... Expressed and received... Is the defense of my faith... Because He is my faith. You continued... "The whole rant about living our lives in such a way as to show that we are true disciples of Jesus is obviously true, but is not antithetical to apologetics. Of course we should live our lives in submission to him and deny ourselves and take up our cross. However, apologetics is a separate issue." No, Sean... Apologetics is NOT a separate issue from living our lives in submission to Christ, by denying ourselves, picking up our cross, and following Him. Apologetics... Proper apologetics... Is exactly that... Abiding in and living out Christ. And you thinking that it is "...a separate issue...", only exposes your poor understanding of the matter of Christ being everything to us regarding our "...Christian belief..." Amen.

@@sanjeevgig8918 No I wouldn't call it magic. It just seems like magic because an entity powerful enough to do it is unfathomable. Anyway hasn't it widely accepted now that the universe has a beginning? Something which has a beginning must have a cause. Why is it such a hard thing to believe that that cause is a powerful being(God)? There was a time people thought the universe always existed. So also the idea of something being eternal isn't out of the question. It's not that there's nothing that exists without a beginning. Just our universe and anything in it must have a beginning. A god wouldn't be in the universe but outside of it. As the creator of it they would be outside of and separate from it and it's rules would not govern or apply to them.

@@celiasleigh2805 So why can't you have something natural also existing outside of time and space that creates universes? On what basis are you claiming only God can create universes and nothing else? Its not based on anything. So if God can exist without a cause because he's outside of time and space then why couldn't the universe...? It just seems like a bunch of arbitrary exceptions where you say nature can't do something and only God can, but on closer inspection there's no good reason to think so
- Adam and eve came to existance without being born. Why weren't they children of god? - Moses did miracles. That didn't make him god... - How can the NT is the gospel from god when Jesus never read any of the gospel in the NT?
I get the impression these two dont talk with many atheists. If they do, they must not listen. Simply demonstrate that God exists. Without that, you have nothing. This excuse that God give only enough information for those who want to know him is wrong. It promotes the idea of a God who wants us to be willfully ignorant, accepting things without any way to demonstrate or prove them to be true.
The Problem is: Many Christians ARE comforted by some good Apologetics books, Until . . . they Read: 1. Robert M. Price's "the Case Against the Case For Christ" or 2. Bertand Russell's "Why I Am Not a Christian" because . . . Christian Apologists don't write any books or any Comebacks to what's in those books! WHY NOT?!? Then, because they don't, people think the Skeptics have won, and still more people leave the Church. It's not enough to simply write yet another Apologetics book, saying how it's all true, all over again, simply "re-stating your case" WITHOUT engaging and disproving things like in the books mentioned above! Which Apologist will write the Comebacks? Christians need that. Avoidance isn't an answer.

All these "points" are easily and have been roundly debunked as illogical or without evidence. This type of video is clearly more to make Christians feel better than to actually address any nonbeliever. It's the goods you already bought so they're trying to help you not feel any buyers regret.
Ok…you made the claim that all of these points are easily and have been roundly debunked. Please show us the easy debunking of the cosmological argument. Please also show the evidence against the resurrection of Christ other than the tired and intellectually dishonest David Hume argument against miracles
Jenna: I've spent decades studying the "illogical" evidence. I'm a man of faith, and an evidence based; very well educated Christian. I can assure you; the evidence is on solid ground. It comes from multiple disciplines, and has withstood the blows of all its detractors. It has been critically studied, and lived out--for millennia The Bible alone tells us why we are here; Why there is "something" and not "nothing." It alone tells us straight-up how we came into being, (The "uncaused first cause" and why we are here.) It tells us why the world is so messed up; how to live; the reality--and reason--for birth--and for death/Love/anger/sorrow/grief/the source of truth/reality/the sense of eternity in every person/the reason for beauty/order/the laws of logic/mathematics/breathtaking complexity/diversity/moral law/physical laws/justice/goodness/evil/light/darkness/health/sickness. Science cannot answer the deepest questions about your personal existence. It is mute. The Bible speaks; to those who will listen. Are you here b/c of "time and chance"? A speck of dust; here today; out of existence tomorrow? "Living" a purposeless; meaningless existence? No; your life has value, and worth. In the eyes of God you are loved, and have inestimable worth. To all those put down their weapons against God--The Bible takes on new meaning. It is a very real message of hope. Not "wishing it is so" hope; but a living; real hope--An offer of full forgiveness, and a new life. A life lived for God; not against him. No matter how bad; or messed up we think we are--He comes to each of us as we are, and promises us fulness of live...and an eternity with him.
Christians are required to proclaim and confess Christ and not deny him. Before God came to Earth in the form of a man, God’s existence, power & glory was proclaimed through Creation - as is stated in the Bible. None of the faithful characters in the Old Testament had to “believe in Jesus”, or knew that the Son of God, Jesus, son of Joseph, from the line of David, would be crucified during a Roman occupation of the Land of Israel for the redemption of sins of those who believed in Him. But they had faith and belief in the God they referred to as “YHWH”. During Christ’s time on the Earth, He recognised that even those who witnessed both His unprecedented knowledge of the Torah and the miracles He performed would actively choose to deny the nature of His being. He also said few would end up being His followers, and Paul and Peter referred to the latter days when there would be a falling away and growth of false teachings within the Church - those who will say “Lord, Lord” but to whom He will say “I never knew you”. So - I’ll agree with you that Christians shouldn’t need any of the humanistic philosophical arguments to justify and rationalise the existence of the Trinitarian God of the Bible, of Jesus’ message and purpose, and how all of everything that has ever existed, and it’s fate, is a consequence of the utterly sovereign will of God. The earliest Christians didn’t have any of that epistemological information we have at their fingertips. In our modern era it’s become even less forgivable to deny all the above, because the more we learn of the wonders of Creation, the utterly limitless expanse of the Universe, the fantastical complexity of life at the nano scale, the more we see the greatest minds left grasping at straws of nonsense (and non-science) to explain. We also cannot deny that left to our own devices, humanity is capable of the most depraved acts. Why do we need a police force if by nature we’re “good”? We are clearly not good - as the Gospel clearly outlines, and haven’t been since Adam took the forbidden fruit from Eve. If you like being in the majority on an issue - part of a wide consensus - then you’ll be perfectly comfortable in your attitude towards all those above points. No human, or humanistic, argument will sway you from your viewpoint. The only thing that will sway you is if you are amongst those who the Holy Spirit will grant grace to read and understand Holy Scripture as a Christian does. If you’re not worried about not being in that number, then perhaps you never will be. Us Christians pray that many will have their eyes opened by the Holy Spirit, but at the same time, we know from the Scriptures our numbers will be few, and we’ll be criticised as bigots and persecuted as enemies of the State or other religious traditions for holding such beliefs. Whatever your response to this reply might be, it will be God’s will. “Seek, and you shall find”. I don’t need a video such as this to make me “feel better”. What a strange and faintly amusing viewpoint! And as a Christians I believe we should NOT rely on the philosophical and meta-physical arguments referred to in this video. Those arguments are not the Gospel. The Gospel is perfectly adequate to present to non-Christians, and basically, they can take it or leave it. Being able to demonstrate the validity of the Gospel even through the filter of humanistic philosophy is intellectually entertaining, but not something that the Bible teaches us to rely on. In fact the Bible tells us to rely on the Gospel alone, but obviously the Gospel does not directly present its message using post “Enlightenment” epistemological theories or philosophical traditions, because it pre-dates them. Hopefully even if you won’t appreciate what I’ve written, someone else might - so thanks for your comment that prompted my contribution!
Really? Who debunked it? What was their evidence? How did they come to their conclusions? Nice try. 😂 Clearly, Christianity threatens you so you felt the need to lie about it.
I hear what you are saying but its not entirely false. Jesus did affirm the Old testament was the word of God and then he said in John 14:26 " But the Helper, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and remind you of all that I said to you." So Jesus knew they would record accurately what He said and also Jesus appeared to Paul and chose him as his instrument in Act 9 so we can conclude Jesus, as God, was in agreement with the Holy Spirit and affirmed the collection of books that are known as the Bible. Point 12 goes along for the ride since all scripture is God breathed and the disciples confirmed they were writing scripture (2 Pet 3:16, 2 Pet. 1:20-21).

The burden of sin was bore upon the cross by the Lord Jesus Christ. Anyone who places the burden of sin upon a sinner to be saved is propagating a false gospel of self-righteousness. Jesus paid it all... and He died in our place taking the punishment we all deserve... Salvation is not doing your best, it is having Christ's best put to your account through repentance and faith. God will not save anyone who is trying to be saved of themselves, He will only save those who know they need a savior and are trusting Him to be saved. The only requirement to be saved is to admit that you are a guilty sinner in God's sight (Romans 3:19-26) and to turn to Jesus Christ in faith trusting in His death burrial and Ressurection (Romans 10:9-13). You must come as an ungodly sinner to be saved. No one has ever been saved except the UNGODLY (Romans 4:5-8). God doesn't save the self-righteous, who are going about to establish their own righteousness (Matthew 7:21-23). We can only be saved by God's righteousness, which is through faith in Christ. Philippians 3:9 says, “And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith.”
Though, "burden of sin" requires there to be sin. I don't believe that Jesus died for our sins, as I don't believe in any sins in the first place. So, the argument of Jesus died for me I deny, since what he died for I believe doesn't exist. So, essentially, you could say Jesus died so I could ride unicorns. It would be as valuable. Much like I believe there is no devil, so those who say Satan does this or that ..... well, no, no such being. That's the problem with your argument - it rests on one point that requires belief.
@Templates of Myth and Religions Hmmm you also said: "True seeking and knocking is for the few chosen and science" .. what is your reference here to Science?
Once an objective person realises that Emperor Constantine exploited Christianity for his own ambitions we begin to see the contrast between the Jesus Christ who is God's beloved Son and the false 'orthodox' teachings that include the 'trinity' 'immortality of the soul' the 'succession of saints' hellfire' e.t.c none of which are mentioned in the words of Jesus or his apostles! Just read the Holy bible. Compare various translations ( They too have been contaminated with church doctrine!) And you will find the truth!
Nope! Just because a human made a mistake, this in no way means that he sabotaged God’s church, His Word, or His plan for humanity. The only thing you have proven with your comment is that you know nothing about real church history and even less about Biblical translation. No human can override God. He has preserved and protected His Word. When they discovered the Dead Sea Scrolls, they compared it with the most recent translations. The only errors were some punctuation or slight grammatical errors that in no way changed the context or the meaning of the verses. This is pretty darn amazing! It’s so wrong when we mere, erroneous humans think we know better than God or that God isn’t in control. Basic Christianity still exists and knowing what the contaminants are isn’t difficult if you understand God’s untainted, perfect Word. You didn’t write the Bible, so how could you possibly know if it’s been messed with?
Christianity starts with the book of Genesis and the very sin of Adam and Eve. Those two imaginary people didn't exist. Paul and Jesus believed they existed and made a religion upon the funny story. You can believe Gospels and the resurrection etc. but it's very hard for you to believe Genesis stories (Creatio ex mud, the talking serpent and the tree of life...) That's why many people leave Christianity.
@@CarolSpen4000... This is because in the religion of Christianity, there is a shortage of teaching Christ Jesus as Lord... 1 Corinthians 15: 14 is the foundation of Christianity. Taking each point in turn. 1. Non sequitur, it tells you nothing about the truth of the resurrection. 2. Non sequitur, it tells you nothing about if the resurrection is false. As an aside there is not a single peer review and published scientific paper that proposes that "something comes from nothing". 3. Non sequitur, the existence of a god tells you nothing about the properties of that god and is not evidence of the biblical resurrection claim. 4. Non sequitur, obviously a god can do "magic" this is not evidence that god magic exists. 5. Non sequitur, obviously confimed god magic can be seen as a message from that god. 6. There is not a single document that supports the claim that any of the disciples, having been given the opportunity to recant were then killed for their beliefs. 6. Stories about Jesus miracles is not evidence of Jesus miracles. 7. Saying that you are a god is not evidence that you are a god. 8. Sorry but I just couldn't follow this point. It seemed little more than "it's true because the Bible says it's so", a strange version of Pascal's Wager, and a failure to recognise the literary device of foreshadowing within the gospel narratives. 9. 10. 11 and 12 This seemed to be little more than "if it's true, then it's true". Wow Geisler might not have agreed with T Jump but to call his position "dishonest" is an absolute disgrace. Sorry but these 12 points don't come remotely close to being sufficient evidence to justify a belief that 37.2 trillion dead and rotting eucaryotic cells magically came back to life in the Levant some two thousand years ago.
And yet... Here we are... Still exercising faith, which Paul found out is the evidence of our hope. Now... @@aboveandbeyond9844 The problem is that simply saying a phrase like "the wonderful simplicity of god's etc etc" doesn't defacto make it true nor does it offer a mechanism for differentiating similar phrases made by Muslims and Hindus. A response was made to something I said in another comment on this forum, and it specifically referenced 1 Peter 3:15... I'll copy and paste my response here, as I think it might provide an answer to your question... @Sean Patterson ... Amen. Note... I'll continue in my following comment...
You’d have to already be a Christian to find any of these “points” compelling. This is embarrassing. But I guess that’s the point of apologetics - to bolster and salve the believing.
Yeah, customer retention is spot on. Christianity is a mature product, it's already reached its saturation point in the faith market. Islam is growing, not super fast but growing. Neither brand is super sexy, but there is a bit more of a novelty factor with Islam.
@@kellyanne7225hat is it that I don’t understand? Miracles are by definition unverifiable and therefore the following points are unreasonable. The new testament is certainly not historically reliable. Yes, it is an historical document, but so is the epic of Gilgamesh. Saying that a document is indeed a record of people written a long time ago does not mean the events WITHIN the document are themselves historically accurate. It tells us a lot about the people who wrote it and the world they lived in, but it can’t be treated as an unbiased record of what happened. Historicity and historical reliability are different things. I just wish Christians would have the nerve and courage to admit that they believe things on faith that in any other circumstances would be seen as irrational and unreasonable - that’s literally the definition of faith. Trying to convince everyone that your religion is self evidently true just gives me the impression that your belief is insecure, or else you wouldn’t need to so desperately convince other people. Hence my comment that apologetics is meant to serve the already believing so that they feel better about their faith, and not a really convince anyone else.
@@patrickcate1070 The NT is 100% verifiable. The reason you’re saying that it isn’t only proves that you’re too lazy to look at the evidence. You know absolutely nothing about Christianity because you have our faith exactly wrong! Apologetics and defending the faith doesn’t come from insecurity, but just the opposite. Do evangelists preach the gospel out of insecurity? Do missionaries go into dangerous parts of the words to spread the gospel out of insecurity? Especially when they could be killed for their faith? Again, proving how little you know. Every word you typed was opinion and very ill informed at that. We are told by Jesus to go and teach the Gospel, this means apologetics because there are scoffers such as you who think they’re so almighty intelligent, yet they’re actually unbelievably foolish in their own thinking. I’m not the least bit insecure in my faith and you saying that is only a tactic to bait. It won’t work. Besides, could I not say the same about you? You’re on here, trolling on a Christian site, with no intention of truth to tell. This sounds like hypocrisy to me. Clearly, Christianity is very threatening to you, isn’t it? It’s not my job to convince anyone of anything, it’s God’s. I love talking about my faith. I love talking about why I’m a “Jesus Freak”. I don’t hide behind the world’s lies, I’m not afraid of the truth. There is freedom in truth because you never have to remember or cover up any lies. Bart Ehrman, I’m sure you’ve heard of him, is an atheist who cannot deny the existence of Jesus based on the NT historical evidence. The OT and NT cities, artifacts, and continuous evidence, keep revealing themselves. Little by little, people are finding the Bible is true. It is historically sound despite your claim, which is only your claim, not proven. Just repeated scripts. Fact is that the more people try to disprove the Bible, the more truth they discover. Lee Stroebel is notorious for his faith conversion after starting out to annihilate everything about God. In a nutshell, you have everything exactly backwards. The Bible proves it too. I’m not new to Christianity, and I’ve had many of these RUclips debates, you’re not the first. So don’t think for a second that you’ve convinced me of something or shown me something new that I’ve never heard of before. Your arguments are the same old, same old. They’re weak. They’re foolish. They’re empty. We can’t both be correct. If I’m wrong, so what? What do you care? I’ve lost nothing. If you’re wrong, you’ve lost your entire soul as you will face God on the day He decides you die, and He rejects you because of your vehement rejection of Him. While I get to spend eternity with Him! Your opinion doesn’t matter to me, and you have no evidence to prove you’re right.

These are claims, bold fuc*ing claims that state the ultimate truth, that best describes the universe we live in, sounds like absolutely lunacy. There is nothing in the legend of Jesus that can’t be explained by myth and cultural understanding, and the most important part of this fact is that it can be explained without magic. These claims are literally impossible, and without any real hard evidence. Therefore, as hitch would say, dismiss it just as quickly without evidence
I was fortunate to have a private conversation with his late father Dr. Norman Geisler during a break at a conference in Merrimack, New Hampshire that I attended. His father’s books helped pull me back into my faith out of agnosticism.
I've read "I don' have enough faith to be an atheist" by Norm and Frank Turek. Excellent apologetics.
Or "...He who has ears to hear, hear what the Spirit is saying."
And this is why the one Body of Christ, the one Church that He declared He would build, is in such poor condition.
Lord help us get out of this quagmire of our own making that constantly stumbles us in the working out of our salvation.
Amen.
God commands us through Peter that we are to give a reason (apologia) for the hope that we have. 1 Peter 3:15
And do not be afraid with fear from them, nor be troubled, . . . But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, being always ready for a defense to everyone who asks of you an account concerning the hope which is in you, . . . Yet with meekness and fear, having a good conscience, so that in the matter in which you are spoken against, those who revile your good manner of life in Christ may be put to shame."
This thought of Peter tells us that if we might "...suffer..." (be persecuted in one way or another and to one degree or another) "...because of righteousness, you are blessed..." (Matt. 5:10).
Okay... But how are we blessed...
1 Peter 4:14... "...If you are reproached in the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you."
This very "...Spirit of glory and of God...", being the Spirit of God Himself, rests upon the suffering believers in our persecution...
"But as God is faithful, our word toward you is not yes and no. . . . For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you through us, through me and Silvanus and Timothy, did not become yes and no, but our word has become yes in Him. . . . For as many promises of God as there are, in Him is the Yes; therefore also through Him is the Amen to God, for glory through us to God."
Beginning his above-quoted thought with "...But...", a coordinating conjunction, tells us that the apostle Paul is connecting ideas that contrast.
"But with regard to the promise of God, he did not doubt in unbelief, but was empowered by faith, giving glory to God."
2... By believing that all that we do is for God, who is unseen, and conducting ourselves accordingly.
1 Corinthians 10:31... "Therefore whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
Every aspect of our daily moment-by-moment living, big or small, must be in the Holy Spirit, serving Christ, and therefore "...is well pleasing to God and approved by men."
1 Peter 4:9-11 tells us... Amen."
By having the disposition of bringing God glory through exercising faith, unto an outward living and being that testifies to all that we are and do being for the glory of God... We testify to the unseen God we believe in... Our actual living on this earth becomes an evidential testimony of God... Evidence that in Him we live, move, and have our being.
This brings us to this wonderful speaking by Peter...
1 Peter 2:4-5... "Coming to Him, a living stone, rejected by men but with God chosen and precious, . . . You yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house into a holy priesthood to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ."
Is this not what God wants His people to testify to, as evidence of who He is and what He has done/accomplished?
According to biblical scripture... Of course, it is.
And this is further supported by what Peter continues to say...
1 Peter 2:6-12... "For it is contained in Scripture: “Behold, I lay in Zion a cornerstone, chosen and precious; and he who believes on Him shall by no means be put to shame.” . . . To you therefore who believe is the preciousness; but to the unbelieving, “The stone which the builders rejected, this has become the head of the corner,” . . . And, “A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense”; who stumble at the word, being disobedient, to which also they were appointed. . . . But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people acquired for a possession, so that you may tell out the virtues of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; . . . Who once were not a people but now are the people of God; who had not previously been shown mercy but have now been shown mercy. . . . Beloved, I entreat you as strangers and sojourners to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul, . . . Having your manner of life excellent among the Gentiles, so that in the matter concerning which they speak against you as evildoers they may, by your good works, as they see them with their own eyes, glorify God in the day of His visitation."
And I would exhort the reading of the rest of 1 Peter, which presents to us how to live the earthly life that God has given us for the purpose of gaining Him and living Him out...

Thank you.

That’s a great idea! There is SO much here. It needs to be dissected a bit more. 😎
Thank you for these 12 points that demonstrate Christianity! Will probably have to listen to this a few times to take it all in........... Alisa, thank you for continuing to point us to truth!
It does make your brain feel small when you listen to this. 😊

Soooo many notes taken on this today!!
I like the way Ray Comfort shows you why you're not good. There's a difference between God's good & worldly good. When you come to that understanding you can be changed.
Very encouraging conversation ❤

Yes! 🎉 One of the most profound questions of all time was asked of our Savior by a Roman ruler:
"What is Truth?"
And two of life's most challenging adventures are 1) the adventure of discovering eternal truths and 2) aligning our lives with those eternal truths, or being true to The Truth.

Many people (Christians included) go through their whole life not knowing God or Who He is or having a relationship with Him. That makes me sad ♡♡♡

Those who claim “truth is relative” contradict themselves. Why should we listen to their assertion if there are no absolutes?
If you do a little research on the subject, I think you will find that "those" people are very few and far between.

I listened to them not believing what they were saying ,that Jesus was God he was alive and he had power, but I left there and I challenged God I said God IF your real take this smoking habit away from me, he did, I went a whole week with the 13 side of my export A pkg. in my pocket and my lighter and never thought of having a cigarette, the next week I went to church because their son had been asking me for a long time as he would get points in Sunday school, I asked Jesus into my heart to forgive me, he did what no priest, bishop, not even the pope himself could do, Jesus removed the guilt of my sins, there is much more, I am a walking miracle, more another time, but I said all this to say, a couple of things, one christianity is not a religion it is a relationship, two doing evangelism basically from the tine I was saved, at times i would get into various methods that work on some people some times, but not always, I have discovered evangelism is listening to The Holy Spirit example I am in a city I have never been in The waitress about 20 yrs. old, comes. to serve us, the Holy spirit says don’t marry the guy you are with, I. told her I had no idea she was getting she was getting married within a few weeks, which this started a great. conversation about who Jesus is, who’s is just one incident there has been. many others, as each person is different, at times. it’’s been proving God exist which is no problem,, or buying a person a meal, or. just listening, I. thought i. would say. That Jesus. said. many. more times. than 3. that. he. was God. example. when. he said, I am. the. bread of. life,,”. in the Greek. this is. I I. am this is a reference. back to. ex.3:14 TheJews clearly understood this. but. Jesus. couldn’’t die before the proper time,, ❤ his love for. us is so great, he waited till the set time. their is much more. I could. say but it is getting late. really like. your show..
Jesus has the power but the ? is do i want the freedom after only week of total freedom not even a thought nor having a cigarette,I had to learn to resist satan, I prayed a simple prayer “Lord take the urge away” I prayed every time I had the urge it took for me eight months of resisting the devil, until he gave up and left me alone, he has no power over us unless we give him the power, that’s why God says resist the devil and he will flee from us, so it is simply obedience to Jesus, just do as he says, and you will have the victory
in point # 7 about Jesus claiming to be God, He said he was God many more times than many recognize, example when he said “ I am ‘ in the english it is simply as I would say “ I am roy” but this is not so in the Greek it is unemphatic form of the greek word “ eimi “ = I Am the greek word for “ I “ is “ego” so the Greek would be in english “ I, I am,” so when Jesus says I am the bread of life, good Shepard, the resurrection, etc. the Jews knew exactly what he was saying, the prime example ( although there are others ) is John 8:58…”Jesus answered before Abraham was born I am” in Greek “ I, I am,” a reference back to Exodus 3:14 God speaks to Moses at the burning bush that is not consumed, the Jews picked up stones to stone him, I have often said especially to muslim’s “ if I said I was God you would burst out laughing, so would the Jews, but the Jews knew what Jesus was saying was true, but they didn’t want a suffering servant, coming gentle and meek, on the colt of a donkey, they wanted a conquering hero on a white horse to destroy the roman’s, if you think of scr. from this point, The Jews knew the scriptures like the back of their hand, they knew the 330 prophesies of the messiah on their part it wasn’t, a knot knowing but rather a rejection, he didn’t fit what they wanted,
Thanks for sharing

Unrelated to the discussion but does anyone else think he has a similar sounding voice to Dr. William Lane Craig?
I’m so excited to hear these 12 proofs! Taking notes.
Your such. A wonder. Your gonna do it.
Wondering the same thing! Sounds like he thinks this about his sister.
M daughter committed suicide, and I am looking forward to seeing her again in Heaven. Jesus said There is only ONE unforgivable sin. And it’s not suicide.
I guess I’m new to the idea of Christian apologetics what do we have to apologize for?
❤ love it
Love the video - very helpful. One question: Alisa, why are you drinking out of a biscuit (cookie) jar?

Sad thing is. The post modern only believe in themselves and no not believe in sin. It's like we are living in the days of Noah
Sin is a transgression against a god, so obviously if you don't believe in a god, sin is not a thing.
The biggest threat to Christianity is still "modernism“ where we can prove that the global flood of Noah never happened.😉
The funny thing is that I am an Atheist who lives in Germany… and in my entire life I have never met anyone who is a post modernist or thinks that truth is subjective.

Unfortunately, there is no evidence a naturalist would count as evidence for the existence of a creator.
Proof:
Name anything that could possibly count as evidence of a creator aside from the standard cop out of "God would know".
Both are beliefs and therefore "...inform actions..."
An atheist votes according to what they believe.
Unfortunately the nonbelievers cherrypick what they consider a reliable source.

New Covenant Whole Gospel:
Let us now share the Old Testament Gospel found below with the whole world. On the road to Emmaus He said the Old Testament is about Him.
He is the very Word of God in John 1:1, 14. Awaken Church to this truth.
Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by
husband unto them, saith the LORD:
Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
(John 1:49, Acts 2:36)
We are not come to Mount Sinai in Hebrews 12:18.

Alisa,
Your discussion with David was based on human understanding, without divine knowledge.
I start by making a divide:
▪︎You are Christian; you embrace the doctrine "Salvation is free, by faith and by God's grace".
▪︎I am a disciple (student and servant) of Jesus Christ; I have followed the Way of Jesus.
Now I make the following statements:
▪︎I say to you that Christians do not follow the Way Jesus Christ, but they do act and speak as if they do.
▪︎Jesus was never a "Christian" - for the disciples of Paul were first called "Christians" in Antioch (Act 11:26)
▪︎Christians enter a wide gate and walk on the broad road, with others in merriment, even love-feasting, but all that leads to Hell. Mt 7:13b
▪︎Disciples of Jesus enter through a narrow gate, walk on the narrow road with considerable difficulties and pain, that leads to Life. Mt 7:14
Therefore, Alisa, the situation now is this:
either
(a) you are saved and will have life, and I am lost and will go to Hell;
or
(b) I am saved and will have life, and you are lost and will go to Hell.
I tell you in truth, with much sadness that (b) is the final verdict on Judgement Day.
But now, I have to prove to you, lest I'ld be just talking gusts of hot air.
A °°°°°°°°°
What is the Way of Jesus?
¤ Consider these words of Jesus:
Jn 3:16
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life."
Jn 14:6
“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me."
¤ Concerning the "Way", one needs to find a gate to enter, then to walk on the road in search of everlasting life.
Jn 7:13
"You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate."
Jn 10:7-8
“I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep.
All who came before me were thieves and robbers. But the true sheep did not listen to them."
Jn 7:14
"But the gateway to life is very narrow
and the road is difficult, and
only a few ever find it."
¤ Now say that we have entered the narrow gate, we need now to traverse on that difficult road:
Jn 1:43
"Come, follow me."
Jn 10:27
"My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me."
Mat 16:24
Then Jesus said to his disciples,
“If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me."
Luk 14:26
“If you want to be my disciple, you must, by comparison, hate everyone else-your father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters-yes, even your own life. Otherwise, you cannot be my disciple."
Mat 10:22
"And all nations will hate you because you are my followers. But everyone who endures to the end will be saved."
Mat 5:11
“God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers."
¤ After we have completed journeying the Way of Jesus:
Jn 14:6
“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me."
▪︎ we have completed our discipleship training
▪︎ we have received the truth - understanding and knowledge about the Kingdom of Heaven. Mt 11:13
▪︎ we have been given eternal life. Jn 3:36
Jn 17:3
"And this is the way to have eternal life-to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth."
Jn 17:7
"I have revealed you to the ones you gave me from this world."
Jn 17:19
"And I give myself as a holy sacrifice for them so they can be made holy by your truth."
Jesus's way:
• sanctifying the sinner through discipleship training (taking one's cross daily to die to one's sin nature)
• imbuing in the disciple understanding of all things, and righteousness (knowledge of good and of evil)
• cleansing of one's past sins by Jesus’s holy sacrifice of himself.
Jesus says his Way - Jesus's Way is THE only way to salvation.
Those who have made a start on the "Way", by receiving the Holy Spirit, they will already receive eternal life.
B°°°°°°°°°
What is the Way of Paul?
¤ Consider these words of Paul:
Eph 2:8
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.
Rom 10:9
If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Rom 10:10
For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.
Rom 4:16
So the promise is received by faith. It is given as a free gift.
And we are all certain to receive it, whether or not we live according to the law of Moses, if we have faith like Abraham’s. For Abraham is the father of all who believe.
Rom 5:20
God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were.
But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant.
So, the Christian's way to salvation is premised on Paul’s teachings:
• you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and
• you believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead,
• then you will be saved.
• even if you sin again and again, don't fret because God will simply increase His grace to match your increased sins.
This gospel is the foundation of practically all churches of man.
It is the wide church "gate" that is opened wide, for many to enter to walk on the broad road that leads to Hell.
Mt 7:13b
"The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way."
Elisa, are you going to deny that you have followed Paul, but not Jesus?
And now can you see why (b) is correct - I am saved and will have life, and you are lost and will go to Hell.
Can you not see that you have been deceived? See how slimily tricky the devil is:
¤ you are standing on a stage, where all things on the stage appear to be paraphernalia of the genuine Gospel of Jesus Christ.
¤ but unbeknown to you, the stage on which the puppeteer set you on is built on a lie - the false gospel of Paul.
Didn't Jesus say all who came before him are thieves and robbers? Jn 10:7-8
If you put Paul or your church before Jesus in your pursuit of life, then know this: Paul and your church are the thieves and robbers!
Instead, go learn from the Teacher - the only true Teacher, Jesus. If you faithfully follow him, he will ask the Father to send you the Holy Spirit.
Jn 14:16
"And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you."
Jn 14:26
"But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative-that is, the Holy Spirit-he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you."
Are you the sheep that will hear his voice and follow him? Jn 10:3
Or, are you a goat, bleating away like sheep but cannot hear his calling?
one point: my faith in God (Heb 11.1), given by God (Phil 1.29). apologetics by definition undermines faith by placing science and reason between God and men and by elevating the authority of science and reason above that of scripture.
@@hazeloveu Sorry but there is literally nothing that you couldn't believe as true using the appalling epistemology of Hebrews 11: 1. It is nothing more than the excuse people use when they don't have actual evidence to support their beliefs.

"And when they bring you before the synagogues and the rulers and the authorities, do not be anxious about how or what you should reply in defense, or what you should say; . . . For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that hour what should be said."
Do you see that?
"...For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that hour what should be said."
And yet not one word was spoken in this hour-long RUclips presentation was said about having an ear to hear what the Spirit is saying... So that you will know what to say.
Are folks here utterly ignorant about, or simply choose to ignore, the following scripture...
John 7:37-39... "Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. . . . He who believes into Me, as the Scripture said, out of his innermost being shall flow rivers of living water. . . . But this He said concerning the Spirit, whom those who believed into Him were about to receive; for the Spirit was not yet, because Jesus had not yet been glorified."
What is there that you don't get regarding people needing to come to Jesus... Yes... Jesus... Not you or me... Jesus... That they may drink of Jesus.
Having them drink from our own natural human reasoning is just death that we are giving them to drink.
Wake up, folks...
And how do people come to Jesus and drink Him?
He told us... "...He who believes into Me, as the Scripture said, out of his innermost being shall flow rivers of living water."
We need to trust - believe into - Jesus at all times... Including when He brings us in contact with someone... Anyone... And not believe into some kind of contrived "...apologetics..." training that we've read about or listened to.
Away with that foolishness that only produces more death.
Jesus declared... Listen to Him... John 10:10... "...The thief does not come except to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and may have it abundantly."
That's Jesus declaring that He came so that we all may have "...ZOE..."... Divine life... Resurrection life... The life that is given to us by the Spirit of life...
John 6:63... "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words which I have spoken to you are spirit and are life."
These "...words which I have spoken to you are spirit and are life...", are the very same words that the Spirit is speaking to those who have ears to hear what the Spirit is saying... They are the very same words that the Spirit will give teach us "...in that hour..."... They are the very words from our "...innermost being..." out of which "...shall flow rivers of living water."
Do you not trust what biblical scripture ACTUALLY tells you?
Amen."
Did you catch it?
"The voice of one who cries in the wilderness: Make clear the way of Jehovah; make straight in the desert a highway for our God."
This is how we ought to be "...Expecting and hastening the coming of the day of God...".

You do realize what apologetics is, correct? It’s Biblical? We have to know how to give an answer for our faith? That’s what we’re doing here. It’s the “how to and why” video.
You missed the entire point of this. That’s too bad.
@@kellyanne7225 says... "You do realize what apologetics is, correct?"
Sure do... Quite clearly actually... Perhaps, given Alisa's and David Geisler's speaking in this video, more so than either of them... And possible, it seems, also than yourself.
Moving on...
You continued... "It’s Biblical?"
Well... Yes... The English word "... apologetics..." is the translation of a Greek word used in New Testament scripture...
But according to New Testament scripture, the Greek word "...ἀπολογέομαι..." (transliterated as "apologeomai", and from which we get the word "apologetics"), translated into English as "...answered for himself..." or sometimes as "... defense...", means "...to give an account (legal plea) of oneself, i.e. exculpate (self):-answer (for self), make defense, excuse (self), speak for self."
So here we see that the specific meaning and use of the word from which we get "...apologetics...", is that of defending yourself...
The Christian presuppositionalist approach to apologetics utilizes the transcendental argument for the existence of God."
Again...
"And when they bring you before the synagogues and the rulers and the authorities, do not be anxious about how or what you should reply in defense, or what you should say; . . . For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that hour what should be said."
See this...
"...For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that hour what should be said."
Very clear.
"He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters."
Nothing that either presenter said was in or of the Lord.
All the Lord needs is that we have ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to us (teaching us) "...in that hour...", so that we know "...what should be said."
Which brings us to this that you said... "We have to know how to give an answer for our faith? That’s what we’re doing here. It’s the “how to and why” video."
Well... Unfortunately, Kelly Anne... It's NOT what was done here in this video presentation.
Now it might have been the seemingly good intention behind the speaking in this video presentation... But I'm sure you know the old adage... "The way the hell is paved with man's good intentions."
Many, many years ago, while I was struggling with how to pray to the Lord about a matter, He revealed to me a very simple solution to overcoming my struggle... He said... "Just pray what God is speaking to you... What prayer is more powerful than God's own words spoken back to Him... Just remind God of what He has said...".
This simple correcting word from the Lord completely revolutionized my relationship with God.
John 6:63... "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words which I have spoken to you are spirit and are life."
What is better than speaking "...spirit and life..."?
And those "...words..." that the Lord was referring to... Well, scripture tells us they come straight out of God the Father...
John 12:49-50... "For I have not spoken from Myself; but the Father who sent Me, He Himself has given Me commandment, what to say and what to speak. . . . And I know that His commandment is eternal life. The things therefore that I speak, even as the Father has said to Me, so I speak."
Now tell me, Kelly Ann... If it was the proper way for Jesus to take... Shouldn't it be the proper way for us?
You continued... "You missed the entire point of this. That’s too bad."
Well...
"All Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for conviction, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, . . . That the man of God may be complete, fully equipped for every good work."
And my only desire regarding my speaking here, and in all places and at all times, is that it helps "...the man of God may be complete, fully equipped for every good work."
Now I believe you work with Alisa, Kelly Ann...
We are to give answers that are reasonable, but that still leave room for the person to reject it."
Sean...
"And when they bring you before the synagogues and the rulers and the authorities, do not be anxious about how or what you should reply in defense, or what you should say; . . . For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that hour what should be said."
For you to say...
However, apologetics is a separate issue."
No, Sean... Apologetics is NOT a separate issue from living our lives in submission to Christ, by denying ourselves, picking up our cross, and following Him.
Apologetics... Proper apologetics... Is exactly that... Abiding in and living out Christ. And you thinking that it is "...a separate issue...", only exposes your poor understanding of the matter of Christ being everything to us regarding our "...Christian belief..."
Amen.

Christian Apologists don't write any books or any Comebacks to what's in those books! WHY NOT?!? Then, because they don't, people think the Skeptics have won, and still more people leave the Church.
I agree, as a former Christian I found this completely unconvincing.

Clearly, Christianity threatens you so you felt the need to lie about it.

Number eleven is false. The "Bible" didn't exist like that at the time of Jesus.
Fortunately, with ten points we are all set.
I hear what you are saying but its not entirely false.
Jesus did affirm the Old testament was the word of God and then he said in John 14:26 " But the Helper, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and remind you of all that I said to you."
So Jesus knew they would record accurately what He said and also Jesus appeared to Paul and chose him as his instrument in Act 9 so we can conclude Jesus, as God, was in agreement with the Holy Spirit and affirmed the collection of books that are known as the Bible.

Hey Christians news flash, donkeys and snakes can't talk sorry. And no one has ever lived to 900 etc etc etc
There's no guarantee that life would be easy... Even as it relates to what we believe.
@@CarolSpen4000... This is because in the religion of Christianity, there is a shortage of teaching Christ Jesus as Lord... What is taught is that the religion of Christianity is a go-between in a person's relationship with the Lord... And this is why scripture tells us that God hates it... As we should also.
Amen.
Now... All we need as we live a normal human life on this earth is for there to be a God as presented in biblical scripture and we're good.
Unfortunately... Folk who get all caught up in trying to prove stuff just completely miss the wonderful simplicity of God's one economy for the salvation of man.
Amen.
@@aboveandbeyond9844 The problem is that simply saying a phrase like "the wonderful simplicity of god's etc etc" doesn't defacto make it true nor does it offer a mechanism for differentiating similar phrases made by Muslims and Hindus.
That requires evidence and as I have attempted to explain, this video offers very little other than bloviated sophistry.
You are welcome to believe whatever you want for whatever reasons you want, but the video that I am responding to claims to have points that demonstrate Christianity and it simply doesn't even come remotely close to doing so.
@@downenout8705... I agree with you... And if you take a gander at my comment regarding the video you'd see that.
Apologetics is foolishness... An absolute waste of time that is not instructed in scripture as something a Christian believer should participate in.
All we are called to do is believe according to what is presented in scripture and then allow our living to testify to our belief... And in this, become the proof of there being a God.
Unfortunately... Most Christian believers like to pick and choose a few things found in the Bible that meet the preferences of their natural man, and then superimpose other things related to their natural man on these biblical things... Which is really just a whole lot of corrupted belief... And which is pretty much what Christianity is... Something that "...offers very little other than bloviated sophistry."
Shoot... Even the charity associated with Christianity is "...very little other than bloviated sophistry."
Amen.
@@aboveandbeyond9844 Ok, now I am intrigued. Do you actually have a 1 Peter 3: 15 reason for the hope that you have?
@@downenout8705 says... "Ok, now I am intrigued. Do you actually have a 1 Peter 3: 15 reason for the hope that you have?"
Strangely enough... A response was made to something I said in another comment on this forum, and it specifically referenced 1 Peter 3:15... I'll copy and paste my response here, as I think it might provide an answer to your question...
@Sean Patterson ...
And do not be afraid with fear from them, nor be troubled, . . . But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, being always ready for a defense to everyone who asks of you an account concerning the hope which is in you, . .
"But as God is faithful, our word toward you is not yes and no. . . . For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you through us, through me and Silvanus and Timothy, did not become yes and no, but our word has become yes in Him. . . . For as many promises of God as there are, in Him is the Yes; therefore also through Him is the Amen to God, for glory through us to God."
Beginning his above-quoted thought with "...But...", a coordinating conjunction, tells us that the apostle Paul is connecting ideas that contrast.
Amen.
Note... I'll continue in my following comment...
This is pure pain. Terrible arguments!
Sorry but christianity never true
you out the verb
You’d have to already be a Christian to find any of these “points” compelling. This is embarrassing. But I guess that’s the point of apologetics - to bolster and salve the believing.
Yeah, customer retention is spot on. Christianity is a mature product, it's already reached its saturation point in the faith market.
Islam is growing, not super fast but growing. Neither brand is super sexy, but there is a bit more of a novelty factor with Islam.
Just because you don’t understand it doesn’t make it wrong. It makes you wrong.
I like you but you are constantly saying the same thing over and over again.

These are claims, bold fuc*ing claims that state the ultimate truth, that best describes the universe we live in, sounds like absolutely lunacy.
