    • @boblewis5558
      @boblewis5558 5 лет назад +2

      Err not true, it will depend on load. As he had none, his biggest regret might have been blowing his diode pack with amount of open circuit volts he'd get out of the alternator, even at low revs.
      As several people stated, full load output would not be maintained until the alternator was spinning at 3000 plus which would normally be around 700-1200 rpm engine speed due to pulley gearing.
      Compare an alternator pulley diameter to an old DC car generator to see the difference required between the two. DC generator has around two or more times the diameter pulley so produces charge at half the revs of an alternator but total power is typically MUCH more limited.

      "alternators dont charge battres they keep them charged"
      What in the world are you talking about? Alternators provides power to the vehicle's loaded accessories. One of these loads is the vehicles battery. When the battery drains after start ups, your alternator will provide the necessary voltage and current to charge up the battery to its maximum capacity.

      ZeZeppelin2017 I’ve charged plenty of batteries with alternators. as long as they can still hold charge, it will work. On older cars I throw in a working battery and start it. while the car is still running, remove the good battery and put the uncharged one and keep it running for a bit. It will charge the battery. on newer models, you run the risk of damaging the computer. Not conventional at all, and wouldn’t recommend doing it on cars with an ECM.

    Please take this as constructive criticism. That video turned obnoxious and extremely annoying real quick trying to hear you talk over your loud impact.

    You're doing it wrong, the stator produced ac voltage, why you measured in dc?
