Hey Legends, Few points: Yes of course there is A LOT of fire going both directions what I was referring to is the increase in outgoing fire to cover this movement, Also we are NOT sure what the mission was here, It could be an attack, a recovery of troops, or reinforcements, Also I should have mentioned the Camera will show it significantly more dark than it is, GoPros and action cameras are terrible in low light.

When I watch this type of footage one thing that stands out to me is the bravery! It doesnt matter if your pro Ukrainian or pro Russian, stop talking 💩 about these Russian guys are cowards or this side weak or just cannon fodder meat wave! 99% of you guys would and could never tie these guys shoes! Staying calm , focused shouting out directives or trying to hear the directives , you gotta be a different type of individual! Same for the Ukrainian troops! Don’t criticize the guys in Ukraine who tried to flee from those black vans that are snatching these Ukrainian boys up! It’s not fair that they have to get thrown into this because some politicians in Kiev , London , Washington and NATO decided the Istanbul peace talks gets thrown out! I will never criticize a Ukrainian soldier either for that matter! He believes he is fighting invaders and he stands on that! The Russian soldiers believe they’re liberating the Ethnic Russian communities that felt they were not only marginalized but being attacked because they wanted independence and didn’t want nothing to do with the U.S. state department backed regime that ousted their president in 2014! The point I’m making is each side believes in something and it’s the political system and it’s players that makes the decisions, play political chess, lie, cheat, and manipulate the emotions of the population. Yet I never see their kids out here doing this fighting. So regardless of what side your on, respect the soldier out there fighting like this, because you wouldn’t be able to. Also don’t criticize the guys in Ukraine that worried if they walk to the store to get their baby some diapers he may not return back home because he was kidnapped by conscription officers and never got to tell his wife or kids bye! It sucks all around the board.

That square where the yellow hanger is, is in semi encirclement.
The ukrainians have big difficulties to get reinforcement there, they've been bombed my fabs in previous days, and now those forces you are showing are starting dislodging the ukrainians. The russians started using tanks so the advantage is obvious. The ukrainians can't bring tanks.. So 3 buildings are already taken, 7 remain in ukrainian hands. And after those, there are only houses, two floors up. So, when the ukrainians said a few days ago that hundreds of russians are surrounded was a lie.

Red armbands are usually worn by assault/storm units. Those who take part in assaults know they won't be taking the money they make to afterlife, so they spend a lot on their gear. Most of those who got a chance to go home for rotation come back with custom kits and quite expensive gear. So I don't think these guys are spetznaz of any sort, just some veteran soldiers.

That gear is nothing special @WillyOAM. The helmet has Chinese made copies that retail for less than $600 in the USA. Active hearing protection costs $50 retail in the USA. The Mystery Ranch 2-Day pack is found on clearance for less than $200. I've seen Chinese copies for less than $100. The supressors cost maybe $30 locally made.
Willy, the Russian Army of '24 is far superior to the Russian Army of '22 and '23.
As to fitness? Are you too acustomed to seeing middle aged Ukrainian soldiers walking and wheezing? Are you that unfamiliar with what Light Infantry forces in their 20s look like? Spetnaz is doing Recee and targeting, (Recon and Sabotage) deep inside Ukraine. They're even delpoying man portable drones deep inside Ukraine for these purposes. Spetnaz is targeting HIMARS systems and NATO personnel.
Yes. They put more experienced guys in the assaulting waves... but to say they're Spetnaz is a stretch.
Set your VPN on USA and see how cheap these items are as retail sales here to the general public. I'm sure Russia isn't paying retail prices either. Ive seen Russian truck drivers with cans. One reported they're becoming quite common and made 8n local shops and motor pools. Again, there are Chinese "solvent traps" one can buy in the USA for about $20 that are so close to being a suppressor the ATF will bust you if you buy one.
Willy, I don't think you're aware how inexpensive and decent quality Chinese made tactical gear and firearms accessories -- like optics-- really are. I love my Aimpoint... but I got six Chicom red dots that are almost as good for 1/2-1/3 the price.
Worth noting: Russian commanders are rotating their soldiers from the front after 24-48 hours, so they are fresh. A typical schedule is 2 days fighting followed by 2 days resting and refitting, then 2 days as QRF/ manning secondary lines before hitting the front again. Russians also do have Medevac.

Only thing I would correct you on is "Spetsnaz".
If you are referring to Spetsnaz as a unit, then that is not correct. Spetsnaz is a Russian term similar to how in the West we say "SF".

    • @zszempty
      @zszempty 4 дня назад +3

@@oggaBugga bud - not all chechens or chechen looking guys are spetsnaz - I think the guy is spot on... contrary to popular belief SF is rarely used in frontline roles in modern warfare... they are used for deep infiltration - sabotaging supply lines, creating chaos, carrying out anti-morale ops, destroying key infrastructure and providing backline targeting covertly. SF can become involved or have to occasionally be escorted by regular units, but I really doubt they would deploy them to run around the artillery pocked frontline like this.
Id bet these are just first rate, well equipped assault brigades - possibly private, cant see alot of flags on them which would indicate that - then again some RAF dont particularly like displaying the tricolor for... cultural reasons..., weapons/kit are all off the shelf Russian stuff, cant see anything chinese in there, the chinese stuff isnt a whole lot cheaper than domestic russian things rly, and on average of higher quality - its very functional and tends to be well tested in combat with regular updates/variations according to soldier needs.
Worth mentioning Russia/most Slav countries have absolute disregard for copyright law and they steal and augment anything that they like from western manufacturers - although honestly they dont tend to very often unless is a vast leap forward in some department - Russia has a different doctrine and alot of western equipment is based on the wars they take part in, which as we have seen recently doesnt really do well in an industrialized war environment...
TL:DR - west make small very cool boomies, russia make cheap big boom booms... big boom booms better.

Average Russian infantryman is paid 200 000 rubbles a month and the first payment of 1 500 000 when a contract begins. A full domestically produced body armour suit with class 5 armour is 340 000. Any infantryman could buy kit like that, all produced in Russia, 6 times cheaper than western imports. Brand and kit name: КБС «Стрелок» by ТРИАДА-ТКО
It has shoulder anti artillery fragment aramid packages, breast and back plates that rest on hip supports, taking weight off the spine, bottom and crotch aramid cover to protect arteries on inner side of the hips, backpacks that is 10 times better than any western wannabe operator trash and many more well designed peak of the tactical science solutions. This is next gen stuff.
Russia is considering this war a provocation and the beginning of a full scale NATO invasion, the production is going full speed. I don`t think the west understands fully what they got themselves into. All damages are getting calculated at the moment and will be paid in full by every western country that armed and supported illegal government of 404.

So, what do we see. We see the capture of the Citadel of Volchansk high-rise. That is, the area where the defense of Ukraine took place in the city center. How it happened. Before the start of the assault, a powerful bomb attack was carried out on this area. After that, with the introduction of armored vehicles into battle, the area between the Citadel and the factory was captured. Where the building is painted yellow. All the way to Metallist Street. At the same time, the intersection on the other side of the Citadel was captured. The approaches to the Citadel were under Russian fire control. After that, the assault began. The APU is trying to break into the Citadel and send reinforcements there. At the same time, they suffer losses. Attacks on the factory have begun, apparently, this is an attempt to distract attention from the storming of the Citadel. If the Citadel falls, the Russian army will be able to begin advancing from the factory along the embankment, surrounding all units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the city. Another Zelensky "counteroffensive" will turn into a disaster.
No less significant events are taking place now in the area of Gorlovka. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are losing the last area where they had capital fortifications.

Not true , unless they captured more last night. As of yesterday they had captured those two high rises and one to the left. The Ukrainians are in the oTher high rises but their supply lines are being eroded, The factory too does not seem to be fully occupied. They are making slow progress but the far part is till in the gray zone. This has been managed by the russians with their armoured vehicles which they managed to get into Volachansk., while the Ukrainians are failing to get in from the east.

opinion coming from a quick look: airframe copies are sold in most serious military gear stores in russia (allmulticam, arsarma etc) earprotection can be bought on aliexpress, they don't all come cheap but sure as hell cheaper than peltor. Multicam has been adopted by the russian MoD in 2023 as an official pattern of the russian Federation army. Copies of mystery ranch do exist in russia (take for example the one you can find at demych gear's bakery). Cans on rifles are the most widespread accessory (even more than red dots/optics). the guy with the gopro (author of the video) doesn't have any accessory on his AK74. I don't think those guys are SPN. At least not in the sense in which we use the term in the west. They could be naval infantry special units for example, or contractors (although in general wagner guys had shabby, old and incoherent equipment, at least in bakhmut). But I don't think they are tier one units. Either some "shturmer" from a pmc. The video is taken from a telegram channel called "soldier of fortune" that recollects media from people on the front line. The video has been taken down (dumb move to post your location in a urban environment). SSO units-russia tier 1 army spn- for example, publish their materials long after the dust has settled and anything showing where they have been it's either blurred or irrelevant when the vid comes out. Spn units tend to be quite shy, to either operate embedded with regular units but conducting special assignments (as per soviet doctrine) or operating far behind enemy lines in complete autonomy both logistically and operationally.
Those are shock troops, front line specialists from regular units whose only difference is combat experience (hence the better gear).
