    Dear Dr, I have been following your advice and at 60 with severe depression and anxiety, coupled with one TKR and still waiting in the UK for my left TKR, I wish to share my experience. In 10 weeks, my inflammation is down, I no longer snore. I have lost 26lb of mostly stomach fat and I have loads of energy. I ate twice a day and recently started one meal a day. I am looking forward to my first fast.
    I struggled to walk to the bathroom and now I am cycling.
    Diolch yn fawr iawn , Thank you very much

      Same here. Can only get off sugar by going cold turkey. Spent one year sugar free then stupidly thought I could handle ' a bit' of sugar at Christmas time. No, I couldn't. Just as you would not expect a recovering alcoholic to handle one drink. I spent the next year on a sugar bender, and put on 20 kilos, and felt dreadful. The sugar addiction is real!

    Hard to believe I’m just discovering these most brilliant lecturers. Too many doctors don’t talk about preventive medicine because we don’t have a healthcare system. What we have is a sick care system. I’ve been RN for 20 years and even I have believed some of lies. I use to think eating fat was was bad. I’m 50 years old and now I weigh only 6 more pounds than I did when I graduated high school. I’ve never been obese but for for a while I was going in the wrong direction. I finally realized that carbs and sugar are the devil. It changed my life. My husband is even doing intermittent fasting with me. He was 210 lbs when we met and now his down to 174 lbs. However, he is a diabetic and has HTN. I’m trying very hard to get him to stop the Surgar. Baby steps I guess. I’ll take it.

      @David Lee Physicians are not nutritionists. Just because someone is physician doesn't make him qualified in the field of nutrition.
      I don't know if your refer to Dr. Eric Berg as a quack, but he explains complex things in a comprehensible way to a wide public.
      If you disagree with anything, then you should elaborate on that and not use ad hominem attacks.
      I listen to Thomas de Lauer, he's (just) a bodybuilder, but that doesn't mean he's not qualified about what he talks.
      I don't pay so much attention to titles and formal education.
      What counts is if you can explain the topic succinctly and accurately and if your advices turn into a positive outcome.

    We have a big issue with the food in USA and the worst is when you eat outside most of the people have no time to cook. Every single place outside used bad oils to cook so even if you think you are eating healthy probably you not. Is no regulation, is not real good food outside. Excellent talk, so informative. I was put on statins 3 years ago age 60. Came off them 6 months later as I had muscle pains, though my doctor wasn’t too happy for me to stop them. Wish I’d had this info then, I could have educated my GP! I have listened to many talks by Dr Aseem Malhotra (cardiologist in UK) who explains the science as it is here and knowing what I know now I would never accept statins again even if I was unfortunate enough to have a heart attack. I think it’s totally shocking how Big Pharma manipulate the statistics purely to make more money. It’s all about profit & very little to do with health. The food industry is equally as bad. They’re perfect partners who are laughing all the way to the bank at the cost of our health.

    • @meggarstang6761
      @meggarstang6761 2 года назад +16

      I had a talk with my GP, too. We agreed that statins and BP meds were not needed. I lost 30 lbs and turned it all around by following a low-carb eating plan. Now that I’m at my goal weight, I have added Pilates and yoga 3 times a week. I feel so young! I’ll be 70 in a month.

    • @Bpjames
      @Bpjames 2 года назад +4

      Good for you that you kicked them to the curb! My dad, in his seventies at the time, was prescribed statins and experienced the same muscle aches. I"ve been avoiding statins for years, but the next time I"m pressed to take them, I have some ammunition with this "relative risk vs absolute risk" statistical scam that Dr Jamnadas talks about. And I totally agree about the food industry, it's aaaaaall about the money, like drug dealers (or big pharma) - they don't care if you die when there's someone right behind you to step over your body to buy their product. The world is truly insane.

      @@Mystdryad10 It depends on the quality of the ginger root. If it's low quality (most often the big and desaturated roots) then I need to eat more. If it's the small concentrated high quality roots that are very yellowish and very spicey then I don't need to eat that much to get the same effect.
      In general, I eat so much that I notice the "good burning" in my stomach and until my mouth really burns. In my experience it's this amount that helps me the most. That means: My body tells me when to stop.
      And also, I eat ginger (+ curcumin, galangal) at least once a day. The more unhealthy I eat the more ginger I consume to counteract.

These are things people generally do not eat in moderation and that’s the problem. And the carbs in junk food and processed foods. What's the best way to fatten them for market. Look at that prime rib eye, that's probably what is happening to you when you eat a bunch of carbs. Btw i’ve been on a carnivore/keto diet before they had a name for it. I’m only 65 with 12% body fat. And I love prime rib eyes. Best part of the cow. Don’t care for grass fed cows.

    It would be helpful if links to all of the quoted studies were provided. Also, the forever repeated 6 /7 country study deception bonmot should not be, not at least in this form, part of what strives to be a scientific presentation. Not even or not especially in the popular science context. Looking at the graph, the study definitely shows correlation between saturated fat intake and cardiovascular disease, however, the dispersion of values is rather broad. To the point that it may be statistically non-significant from the perspective of the currently accepted scientific method point of view. I'm not sure about that. However, the resulting average line looks and likely is more or less correct. Whether Dr.Keys was actually aware of these shortcomings is questionable though. Whether or to what extent this has been neutralised in relation to other factors (smoking, physical activity, refined sugar intake etc.) is unclear. Nevertheless, his "cherrypicking" of countries that fall on or close to the average line might not have been an intentional deceit but rather a simplification for the benefit of those who do not understand statistics, of whom they are many not only among the general public but unfortunately among the scientists as well.
    I just felt like this needed to be said as public stonings of Dr.Keys have become sort of a mass participation sport in recent years. By this I'm not trying to distract from the fact that the current knowledge seems to be disproving his findings and also that he himself might not have been the nicest guy or the cleanest fighter when defending his theories.

    Following my diagnoses of type 2 diabetes I went on a keto diet, joned the gym and threw away all my medications, including statins. Sure i lost weight, sure i got fitter, sure i reversed my diabetes, but also besides getting tremendousely constipated, one nice day i ended up in hospital with an heart attack and 3 stems inserted in my arteries which were 80% blocked. I'm now back on all the medications but metformine, but even so i have constant angina attacks. I'm still trying to do a modified keto diet (so that i fence off a diabetes come back), by staying away from saturated fat and sticking to monounsaturated ones.
    P.S. i suffer from Familial Hypercholesterolemia, and it's criminal from these utube health gurus, pushing the "saturated fat is good for you, theorem" without mentioning that people affected by my condition should not do a standard Keto diet, i.e. saturated fats, where the penalty if you do, is death! I barely missed it.

Maybe too many carbohydrates, especially sugar and processed plant oil are unhealthy but so is too much animal fat, saturated or not. Even if it does not affect your heart and arteries as this cardiologist said, your intestines, pancreas and liver will not like it. And for someone like yourself with a predisposition for high cholesterol, stopping the treatment with statins and going on keto proved to be dangerous. @@no_country_for_real_men Cloudy urine is proteins and sugars in the urine. If you peed out fat you would notice your urine has a fat layer at the bottom and a non fat layer at the top. Come on lol. High fructose consumption from sugar and fruit can only be metabolized after its converted into a fat that is far more inflammatory and harmful than healthy dietary fat from quality meat or dairy. This is why high carb diets cause excessive surges in trigs, combined with insulin resistance means you have high recirculation rates with your LDL, increasing the chances of damage and problems. In a metabolicly healthy person eating real food, LDL circulation is physiological and short as there is healthy metabolism and not excessive carbs coming in. It's Pattern A vs Pattern B. High carb promotes the pathological pattern, LCHF promotes the physiological pattern that is healthy.

    Haven't heard a better more engaging, more bone chilling, more convincing lecture in my life. Hats off to you Dr Pradip. You are a hero. Literally to be so open and frank about all the lies told to humankind all these years. Finally the bubble has burst and I wish more Doctors get onto your bandwagon. There will be so much more health.

      Absolutely. But unfortunately this goes against "standard of care" meaning many doctors are afraid to put this into practice as they will most likely be censured or fired and lose their livelihood. The word needs to get out to the wider public to start to turn the Titanic.

    After listening to Dr. Jamnadas video FASTING FOR SURVIVAL about a month ago, I began a daily 24 hour fast (eating once a day) and have lost 30 lbs and 4 inches from my waist - without feeling hungry and with no cravings.

      Good work champ. I have lost about 18 lbs in a month just by severely limiting carbs and sugars. I was horrible and excessively ate the two through the day. I can’t wait for my next blood work in a few months.

    Fasting with high fat works like a dream. I've been dieting all my life following the rules; success was always temporary - I ended up hungry and the weight always came back on. After two days of fasting you just lose the hunger.

    Thank you so much for talking about these hard truths. I work in the medical field. I have always hated that the medical field is never pre-active. We always work after the problem. So it is a wonderful relief that you are speaking out.

      So true. Healthcare is reactive, not proactive! I don't know why the docs here in the US can't (or won't) share this info with their patients. It's 2022!! Good grief. But you know what, even if they did, I see resistance to new info by patients who would RATHER TAKE A PILL OR HANDFUL OF PILLS/POISON than take responsibility/change their behavior. It's sad. These are our frequent flyers. 😔
