I liked to think after the war against the machines ended Jacob found Jennifer and Patrick, started their own family, had a baby with Jennifer and now living time of peace. Fighting will still go on but no more machines having to kill anymore
Even though everything still went the way I wanted it to, I still felt like I needed to go back in time. What if the volunteer messes it up? Sending yourself back is the sure thing. In the best case scenario, everything will be the same, but with you surviving from what you learned from the previous iteration. Then, after the younger self goes back in time in the second timeline, you can can reconnect with Jennifer, and You-v2 can can do the same with Jennifer v3 and so on in each time loop.
@@JuanSolo9 I don't think sending someone back in time changes anything about the reality where they left. Otherwise, everything would have changed after sending back the T800 who helps prevent Judgement day. In the timeline it left from, Judgement Day DID happen. Things don't magically change. Going back in time just creates a new timeline where things go differently, it doesn't affect the one they left. So whether the volunteer succeeds or not wouldn't be shown in the ending slides, as those are of the first timeline. For all we know, the volunteer fails and Skynet wins the war in the second timeline.
@@KoPT01 Jacob has as much chances of failing as the volunteer, since skynet sent the other infiltrator, the infiltrator will once again connect to the time skynet and warn it that they failed, so they have to change the central core again or use another tactic.
It's a loop, The Stranger dies every time because the Core moves every time from where it was moved before. The loop doesn't require the Core to be at the Observatory and then moved somewhere else, it just needs it to move. For example: In one alternative past, the Core was in a certain location, then the T-850 Infiltrator warned Skynet and they moved it to the Observatory, Now we thought it was at the Observatory but they moved it some where else, so when the Stranger comes back in time he checks the location of the Core and it's still there, then when they arrive in the battle it's been moved, rinse repeat. I hope that makes sense.
And that is simply dumb. How the hell did john connor protect himself from the judgment day if he didn't know it would happen or when it would happen? He would just be nuked away. T-3 explains how this happened because the T-850 tells john connor and takes him to the bunker. People talk bad about T-3, but it's a necessary film for the franchise, an underrated movie that doesn't have to be disregarded.
@@rmi7834 the first movie didn't go into any detail at all about how john knew how to fight the terminators and how he knew it was coming t2 expanded apon that just enough to give us an explanation
This game was surprisingly good. I re-loaded an older save to try and get this ending. I saved everyone except Ryan; to save him you have to go back a fair distance. I noticed a continuity error doing this: when you go back to the shelter after you made Jennifer and Patrick leave, the bloodstains from where their dead bodies were laying if you convinced them to stay are still there even though they're gone. Developers forgot to remove the bloodstains for that part.
This game is really smart when dealing with the loophole of time traveling, u see that the protector River didn't know the location of Skynet's new base because he came from a world where Skynet had been destroyed during the war of observatory, but Skynet still sends back terminator to revenge before it's death so he has to follows him to secure the win, also possibly saves some friends. So the River we play if choose the going back option doesn't mean 100% death, what an open ending.
Well, they tried to make a future movie with Salvation, but since everyone including Arnold hated it when it came out, and it floped at the box office, the idea about The Future War Terminator movie is dead. Just like the franchise itself after Mexican Fates.
I enjoyed T3, I tolerated Marcus Wright's "strong heart" in Salvation, and if we ever got a Future War movie that ended like this I would have seen it 5 times by now.
@@johnboko7110 I kinda liked Rise of the machines, it had some great action, the only thing that let it down for me was all the stupid comedy, it was a bit of a parody Terminator. But they did a great job of showing how tough and relentless a T-888 is.
@@robinhood5627 I didn't mind the humor in T3 even it was unnecessary just like most of that film I disagree with it feeling like it was a parody to the franchise name and with it not being darker and gritty as it should have been with it's R rating I felt it was serious, dark and gritty throughout enough and was very brutal, intense, visceral with some horror, thriller aspects mixed emotional, levitational moments sprinkled in there from T1, T2 that was executed well unlike Genisys or Dark Fate that comes across as more of a parody, As for Salvation I think is underrated I don't understand some of the harsh critiques it got some of them I thought were honestly just troll hating, T-888 units was featured in the spin off TV show TSCC not in Salvation that was the T-800.

this game would’ve made a fantastic movie. think about it this game depicts the future war and completes the time loop when kyle reese goes back to 1984
I finished the game and got one of the good endings I love this game it is really fun to play I'm going to start it from the beginning again someday soon.
Well this isn't multiverse timelines. Plus the paradox one way or another would be resolved because of skynet being destroyed in the past and the future being changed
The main story of Resistance is set between Terminators 1 and 2. The DLC Infiltrator Mode is set before The Terminator as the T800 that you play as in Infiltrator Mode, searches for John Connor's information and when he does, he sees "Sarah Connor" in the file as well, which sets up "The Terminator"
3:30 I always like to think that the white birds on the t-800 was a way of comfort and saying “you are at peace now” since the machines never really had free will, they were basically slaves to Skynet. and now they were finally able to get rest and were free in some way. Even though they killed lots of people and were created for that purpose, they didn’t have a choice and if they did I feel that some machines would have joined the human side.
I actually thought The Stranger was an infiltrator (the face mask covering an exposed endo-jaw) I completed Terminator: Resistance on PS4, but got the "bad ending" as I told Jennifer to stay (I guess I thought Patrick needed "a home") , I thought Ryan would be useful to keep around in the shelter as a mechanic, Erin should stay in the shelter as a medic, and I killed Dr Mack as my gut instinct seemed to be that he was a double agent for Skynet, (to be fair, he was living in Hollywood Hills, and was living "peacefully" amongst T800s, Silverfish, and Drones) and even had T800 endos in his lab. I guess I'll replay and change that, it felt bad I got them all killed, a game where characters REALLY matter.....exceptional, does for the Terminator franchise, what Alien:Isolation did for Alien. Is Terminator:Resistance now canon? It should be. How did Skynet find the Shelter and kill everyone? I was a bit mixed up with that, because just prior to that, The Stranger got killed after discovering the central core had been moved. Did someone let slip? Think I missed the dialogue.
After the medical district this game got much better. Then the last level...way better and I kinda wish this was more of the tempo for previous stages, but you cant have everything. Good game
This story was really above what I have expected, but this time travel once again gives a plotholes. If we choose to go back in time that doesn't mean that we get to act the same way that Stranger acted in our story. Stranger was confused about change of skynets cores location, so us choosing to go back in time means that we know, that location was changed twice and Skynet would change it for the third time... Strange and a bit sad, cause it's not going in a nice circle of evens. Stranger that helped us is really different stranger that we ourselfes would be if we would continue story (ignoring the fact that game ended).
I think going back in time works better if the player fudged something up - like didnt make sure everyone left the shelter or something - so he can go back and fix that (maybe that is why Stranger tells us to do that). It is kinda dope when you did everything right and still go back in time... which I did :D
3:50, did the resistance search the neighboring area of the base? She could've left the bunker walked a few feet before succumbing to her injuries and dying after that her body could've eaten by scavengers like coyotes
how i view this ending, this 'good' ending is the ending we get when we probably play through the first time and get an unideal ending perhaps. We go back in time to 'correct our mistakes' (aka replay the game and do everything differently to save everyone and save a romance). This is the ending that connor speaks of, saying that 'we' can decide our fate and decide when the war ends for 'us'. The game is an unending loop for Rivers until he gets this ending, he goes back in time, and either convinces himself to not go back in time by dying in front of him and instead pursuing a life with the war over, or he continues the cycle
I didn’t have mistakes to fix since I saved everyone and got the CPU and didn’t go back and I just felt like I disappointed Poppy Connor when he did that disappointed sigh
I know it’s messed up but Baron ‘dying’ seemed like the fate that was meant for her. Even Jacob said that he wasn’t sure that Baron would last in a peaceful world. I’m pretty sure she’s alive, but maybe captured by Skynet or she battled her way out of the Resistance bunker somehow.
So the good ending -Make t1 and t2 happen (steal and reprogram the core so Connor can send t800 to save his younger self) -Make first survivors we met leave the shelter Am I right?
I wish the dialoge was better developed to ensure the player takes the correct decisions, i wanted to save jennifer and i won her trust but i misunderstood the dialogue where i suggested her to stay. I had the romance scene and then next time i saw her she was dead next to patrick. I also would have liked not to kill Mack but neither tell him Baron wanted him dead. In the end it´s a very good game but i wish the moral decisions were a bit more clear to handle.
These game devs made a better sequel to T1 & 2, then all the other previous movie attempts. Pretty amazing since they had a fraction of the resources those movies had.
Way I would prefer it is, Jacob does go back. But after credits we see that Jacob reunited with Jennifer. Possibly hinting he changed the past, surviving, with his past self going back and allowing the Jacob we played as to reunite with her.
lol at all the volunteers willing to go back in time and leave everything they know for almost certain death. ‘you want me to go back in time and save that guys life? even though he went back in time to save his own life and died? And he now refuses to follow the same path, but I should?” what kind of bullcrap did Connor feed these guys.
I see some not knowing who the stranger was. The stranger was you. Yes sent back to protect you and secure your mission. And yes another time loop paradox, see the trend yet? No fate but what we make? Ehhhhh. Your 3-4 month older self after timelooping gets to spend more time with Jenn Jenn. Yay. I do consider this the 3rd movie installment.
I stand corrected to a degree, i had yet to reach the point where the stranger gets killed. So if you go back in time Rivers will be stuck in the 3 month time loop. I feel a bad ending if you trail to participate in your own time loop having a bad ending would make more sense.
I hate how Connor barely plays a role in the game .. he is just standing and walking you don’t even fight alongside with him. Kinda makes him look like just a guy who only barks orders and sent people to their deaths. I kinda wish we fought a T1000 tho ..
cyclopstb you have to Lie to Erin that her husband is alive in Mexico you have to do her side quest and when with Jennifer is at near the end of the game she will tells you that she might leave you can chose if you want her to leave of stay if you asked her to stay she and Patrick
Say, here's an idea. Since they have access to all of Skynet's infiltrators now, and Mack is alive, why not have him reprogram all of *their* CPUs and send *them* back to the start of the war - to fight for the resistance?
Skynet wants to change the past, John wants to preserve it. That's why he chooses Kyle Reese and a CSM-101. He knows that they succeeded before, and will again.
Ngl, I felt guilty choosing to stay behind. Not sacrificing myself and sending someone else back in time felt selfish. Whats a Good terminator movie without sacrifice?
I consider choosing your own fate to be a more important theme than sacrifice, which is what you did by refusing to be the Stranger. Besides, if it makes you feel any better, the volunteer who goes back in your place might not die like you did.
I turned up the volume on Ryans radio that you get for him on a side quest. It will annoy the scientist who will walk over and turn it off, leaving you open to steal the CPU.

I liked to think after the war against the machines ended Jacob found Jennifer and Patrick, started their own family, had a baby with Jennifer and now living time of peace. Fighting will still go on but no more machines having to kill anymore
@@user-Bean55645 war….war never changes
@@user-Bean55645 no I’m talking about after the war against the machines
After 2029
Even though everything still went the way I wanted it to, I still felt like I needed to go back in time. What if the volunteer messes it up? Sending yourself back is the sure thing. In the best case scenario, everything will be the same, but with you surviving from what you learned from the previous iteration. Then, after the younger self goes back in time in the second timeline, you can can reconnect with Jennifer, and You-v2 can can do the same with Jennifer v3 and so on in each time loop.
that's the big if.
Seeing as how Jacob is still alive during the ending slides, it's very likely that the volunteer succeeded.
For example:
In one alternative past, the Core was in a certain location, then the T-850 Infiltrator warned Skynet and they moved it to the Observatory, Now we thought it was at the Observatory but they moved it some where else, so when the Stranger comes back in time he checks the location of the Core and it's still there, then when they arrive in the battle it's been moved, rinse repeat.
I hope that makes sense.
Conner says 3 terminators yet doesnt mention the TX.
Good call.
(Spoilers) he's refering to the terminator sent back to kill your character in the game. T3 doesn't exist according to this game.
@@rmi7834 His mother told him? Lol.
The TX is not from this timeline, it's from the Timeline generated after Judgement was postponed on T2.
Someone else bled there.
Why can't they make this a Terminator movie I just wish this was a movie
Ikr, better than the others
Well, they tried to make a future movie with Salvation, but since everyone including Arnold hated it when it came out, and it floped at the box office, the idea about The Future War Terminator movie is dead. Just like the franchise itself after Mexican Fates.
@@OverLorD768 well, they can always try new actors or something
I enjoyed T3, I tolerated Marcus Wright's "strong heart" in Salvation, and if we ever got a Future War movie that ended like this I would have seen it 5 times by now.
Problem was Salvation’s Future War did not hold a candle to Cameron’s Future War sequences.
Still a better conclusion to the terminator story, than the countless dumb sequels since T2 and the abomination that is dark fate.
Geneyesis was worse, but not by much.
T3, Salvation wasn't dumb sequels Genisys and Dark Fate were the only ones that were dumb and abominations
@@johnboko7110 I kinda liked Rise of the machines, it had some great action, the only thing that let it down for me was all the stupid comedy, it was a bit of a parody Terminator. If it had just taken itself seriously and was a bit darker and more R rated it could have been incredible.
Salvation was sorta ok, I get all the criticism for it though.
@@johnboko7110 Ok, but in ROTM it could have done without the star shapped shades and talk to the hand etc. Would have been miles better. Also T-X ripping his head off so it's just dangling with wires.... erm... that didn't work for me at all. Though I did love general brewster turning skynet on, and that skynet was the virus on computers around the whole world, I thought that was a nice touch.
Also while I loved the nuclear blast of the hydrogen power cell rupturing, it did make me chuckle a bit if you think about the other terminator movies with that in mind. For example, sarah crushing the T-800 in T1 BOOM
In T2 the soldier shooting the wrecked T-800 in the future war bit BOOM.
Lowering Arni into the molten steel, thumbs up BOOM. Hell skynet should have T-800s rigged with a self destruct like that, if they can't close to their target just nuke em rico!
Mack wants the 2nd gen plasma gun!
Mack wants the what?!
Is that a "The Thing" reference?? :D :D
@@TheHumanFly516 Yes, but also there's a Mack in this game who you need to unlock the second gen (purple) plasma weapons.
@@livingcorpse5664 yes, I know xD
@@TheHumanFly516 I wish the game had gone one step further and allowed us to get an orange Plasma cannon like the T-X. It could be like a plasma equivalent to a "rocket launcher". At least he got the plasma mini-gun from that one Terminator in that attacked a shelter Kyle was at in the first flick.
Terminator Resistance is officially canon and we see how T1 and T2 started all cause we helped do it here
this game would’ve made a fantastic movie. think about it this game depicts the future war and completes the time loop when kyle reese goes back to 1984
I wish they adapted this into a Movie.
I can't wait to get this game
I finished the game and got one of the good endings I love this game it is really fun to play I'm going to start it from the beginning again someday soon.
So you resolved your own paradox
Well this isn't multiverse timelines.
Plus the paradox one way or another would be resolved because of skynet being destroyed in the past and the future being changed
Havent seen dark fate wont need to... this game was my ending and my cannon
Damn the voice actor for John Connor sounds like the guy from the History Channel (AHS) that was on tv shows like WW2s greatest battles.
It is that guy
They should Rename this Movie "Terminator : New Stories".
The resistance sent a lone warrior. A protector for John.
Best game of this year so far I loved it
3:30 I always like to think that the white birds on the t-800 was a way of comfort and saying “you are at peace now” since the machines never really had free will, they were basically slaves to Skynet. and now they were finally able to get rest and were free in some way. Even though they killed lots of people and were created for that purpose, they didn’t have a choice and if they did I feel that some machines would have joined the human side.
great end. my end in the game. everybody died
Same😂
Jacob and jennifer wins
[insert joke that makes fun of sequels but compliments game]
Get woke go broke
At first my dumbass thought it was John Conner but I figured it out...
After the medical district this game got much better. Then the last level...way better and I kinda wish this was more of the tempo for previous stages, but you cant have everything. Good game
I like this ending better.
Is that Eli from Half-Life.. now I see why we can get HF3...
Just finished this game on 5/13/20. I chose to go back in time. Fuk Covid-19.
This will just repeat and repeat
if you get the bad ending, then yes.
Actually if you fail to save your friends, refusing to go back yourself might save them. The other volunteer might do better.
Following The Franchise of T1&T2
Kyle Reese Sent to protect Sarah Connor From The T-800
T-800 Sent to protect Young John Connor From The T-1000
I feel like the true good ending is if Jacob went back in time, that way maybe he can prevent his death
Honestly, I just wouldn't think about it.
Someone should go back in time and convince James Cameron to do this as a sequel to T2.
I know that your friends death is the bad ending but wonder what happens if you did the same but you don’t go back that might be a bad ending as well
I think going back in time works better if the player fudged something up - like didnt make sure everyone left the shelter or something - so he can go back and fix that (maybe that is why Stranger tells us to do that). It is kinda dope when you did everything right and still go back in time... which I did :D
The headache of time travel
Well terminator 6 was the death of masculinity and all things that gave mecho guys hopes to
Good game.
3:50, did the resistance search the neighboring area of the base? She could've left the bunker walked a few feet before succumbing to her injuries and dying after that her body could've eaten by scavengers like coyotes
Jennifer is lovely
I like how Jacob basically ended up with Jennifer
It's repopulation time :)
how i view this ending, this 'good' ending is the ending we get when we probably play through the first time and get an unideal ending perhaps.
I convinced everyone to stay and they all died 🤦
Go back in time and fix your past mistakes
So the good ending
-Make t1 and t2 happen (steal and reprogram the core so Connor can send t800 to save his younger self)
-Make first survivors we met leave the shelter
Am I right?
Yup.
Lmaooo, I got the bad ending. Not trying to go through the whole thing again, so I came here instead. Thanks!
P.s. : I still smashed
That’s all that matters
@@exodustimes4266 Facts.
Now we need a new Terminator 1 game! All about the first movie! that would be awesome!
2:56 that thumbnail is real predict the T2 judgement day's beginning
I wish the dialoge was better developed to ensure the player takes the correct decisions, i wanted to save jennifer and i won her trust but i misunderstood the dialogue where i suggested her to stay. I had the romance scene and then next time i saw her she was dead next to patrick. I also would have liked not to kill Mack but neither tell him Baron wanted him dead. In the end it´s a very good game but i wish the moral decisions were a bit more clear to handle.
I went for a more tragic story have her stay confess have a love story then she dies and I go back
Fuck, I screwed up, I let her stay and she died.i feel so bad.
Now you know what do next time
These game devs made a better sequel to T1 & 2, then all the other previous movie attempts. Pretty amazing since they had a fraction of the resources those movies had.
If only there was a version of this game with the voices and likeness's of Edward Furlong, Michael Bean and Arnold Schwarzenegger
Way I would prefer it is, Jacob does go back. But after credits we see that Jacob reunited with Jennifer. Possibly hinting he changed the past, surviving, with his past self going back and allowing the Jacob we played as to reunite with her.
It sure was a far better story than Dung Fate.
And still has a better love story than Twilight (Jennifer).
@@135Fenrir No argument here.
lol at all the volunteers willing to go back in time and leave everything they know for almost certain death. ‘you want me to go back in time and save that guys life? even though he went back in time to save his own life and died? And he now refuses to follow the same path, but I should?” what kind of bullcrap did Connor feed these guys.
Very cool game
I always decided to save Jacob's friends and send him back to his loved Jennifer. Destiny doesn't exist, the present never change.
The First T-800 go against Kyle Reese = Good.
The T-1000 go against the reprogrammed T-800 = Nice
The T-850 go against Other else = ???
First play through of this. I chose to send him out again, mack lived, saved the girl and patrick, however i did not send out ryan and the lady.
Terminator Dark Fate wasn't a good movie but the fight scene was badass kinda like the fight scene more.
Has skynet ever heard of hydra effect?
I hate how Connor barely plays a role in the game .. he is just standing and walking you don’t even fight alongside with him. Kinda makes him look like just a guy who only barks orders and sent people to their deaths. I kinda wish we fought a T1000 tho ..
the only option i got wrong was to go back in time lol. Ill just pretend I did since that was the ending I was hoping for anyway
Platinum trophy in this game was easy.
I liked this game, wish they do a dlc. Really would love to play as a T800 story side play as skynet.
Good news, buddy.
Unless you play on Xbox.
Fate of the world vs getting laid twice: the choice was easy for the gamer lot
I did not saved Erin nor Ryan, and got the good ending by just stealing the chip and saving Jenni by telling her to leave.
Why is Jennifer's brother a young Todd Howard?
Because they want to give homage to Terminator Future War and SkyNET games? LOL just kidding, idk.
It just works.
interesting that the "good" ending is choosing NOT to go back in time. I figured going back in time is the good ending.
Heck yea, glad there's an ending where Jacob gets some peace & closure.
Maybe it dooms another timeline but why is that his responsibility.
How do you save Ryan, Erin, Jennifer and Patrick?
By convincing them to leave. Ryan you'll have to tell on to Baron that he's a bad mechanic, they will kick him out.
cyclopstb you have to Lie to Erin that her husband is alive in Mexico you have to do her side quest and when with Jennifer is at near the end of the game she will tells you that she might leave you can chose if you want her to leave of stay if you asked her to stay she and Patrick
Better than mine. I tried to be the good guy and got everyone killed.
This would have been a much better movie than Dark Fate ever was
Say, here's an idea. Since they have access to all of Skynet's infiltrators now, and Mack is alive, why not have him reprogram all of *their* CPUs and send *them* back to the start of the war - to fight for the resistance?
JStryker47 will mess up timelines...
Skynet wants to change the past, John wants to preserve it. That's why he chooses Kyle Reese and a CSM-101. He knows that they succeeded before, and will again.
I enjoy this game.
I did the opposite of all this! :'( lmao was going to play it again but decided just to watch this for the good ending
HOW THE F. DID YOU GET THAT CPU ?
use the boombox you got for the old man to get the scientist to turn it off then run and grab it while hes not in the room
how did you steal the cpu?
I turned up the volume on Ryans radio that you get for him on a side quest. It will annoy the scientist who will walk over and turn it off, leaving you open to steal the CPU.
@@TheHumanFly516 Seems like you sent yourself back to the past to instruct me that. i just figured that out by myself :D thanks anyway!

You can't. Her fate is unknown.
This game's story is the TRUE terminator 3, it shows how Connor isn't the only important character (without murdering him in the first 5 minutess)
agree with you at 100%...if this is "dark fate" it's sure a great success at box office...sadly Cameron dont understand that kill John Connor and Skynet and replay it with Legion (what???) is a bullshit!
