  • I live in a 1st floor flat with no fire escape and I decided to make an escape/safety rope just in case there was ever a fire. Here's how I did it...
In these coronavirus/COVID19 days I sometimes feel like I need it for other reasons ;)

Great stuff as usual mate- be prepared, and you're your own best friend, as my granddad would say! You're right, a hairdressers' place ain't gonna be a lot of fun in a fire!

Absolutely! I mean, the girls are lovely, but they often leave the washing machines on when they leave 😬

I would buy a descender fig 8 type and a small climbers belt . Very cheap easy to latch on and slide down rope with control and if have burnt hands you can still get down

Love it! I live on the 17th floor of a.kodern building but I always get panic attacks when I go to third world countries. Would it be illigal to habe this in your suidcase if you are travelling I wonder? But great video mate, just what I needed!

How did you attach the metal to the rope? What kind of rope is this for me to ask for at the store?

I can't recall the name of the knot I attached the hook with but it's like a simple slip knot but with a double wrap round.
In terms of rope, I looked for one with a breaking strain far greater than my body weight 👍😁

I don't think you need this as you seem to float effortlessly above your wood flooring.

Where did you get the rope from?
