- The JBL Quantum 810 is an upgrade to the Quantum 800. Just like the quantum 610, the 810 is an incremental update over its predecessor, rather than a radical retooling. This means it keeps all the best bits of the 800 and improves on the bits that weren’t so great. For this reason, this review will mainly focus on what’s new and improved with the Quantum 810.

Thanks for the review. Just got them for a birthday present since i mentioned my hyperx headsey was starting to get old. Happy to hear they are a good headset since the person obviously spend a fair bit on them.
i have the Cloud Flight, are the 810 better? I have a hard time finding a good replacement regarding sound.

@@Ronin-qe7hv found the 810 at €120 incl vat 😁 but I'm still not sure, i mostly play COD 2022, OW 2 and R6 Siege. Since the economy is taking a dive I might just as well wait for the 820 😅 (I want the 810, but I can't justify it 🥹)

I got my 800s when they came out and was very impressed with the sound quality, I have studio headphones that are better but these put all the other gaming headsets I've tried to shame, and the noise cancelling was something I didn't even know I needed but they almost completely block out the ac unit in my gaming room.
One downside is the part that connects the swivel to the headband is only held in place by small piece of metal connected to plastic which ended up breaking after they fell off my head when I leaned over from being too heavy. I was able to repair it but in a way that it cant swivel anymore and the right side lights stopped working.
what studio headphones do you have?
Gotta say these headphones are really good, they happened to be 150€ at my local supermarket and I had a 50€ voucher that was about to expire, most places have these for over 200€.
The Quantum Surround sound is pretty good and I love loads of bass and these certainly have enough of that. Could've gotten the 800s for about 70€ but I'm glad I got the 810s
Main reason why I went for them was the 3 different connection methods, I really need the 3,5mm jack for some cases but like wireless when possible, but also the USB dongle is much more reliable for heavy PC use which I'm using them for most of the time. The charging and using at the same time is really good, a lot of bluetooth headsets only allow charging while using with the 3,5mm cable but my old 750 BTNCs didn't even allow that because the charging port was obstructed by the headband when in use.
Noise cancelling is alright, not as strong as I've had in the past but it makes up for it with the fact that the ANC has very little hiss compared to some other headsets I've owned
hi i ahve them for about 1 year and the mic light stopped working and the mic not long ago can i get any help?
Love these things! Well, except for the mic echo. Any time I'm in a party chat, my teammates hear themselves feeding back through my mic. The only way I can get it to stop is by turning the volume way down to an almost inaudible level.
If ps5 when in party go to sound and put the curser too the right which voice chat

Are these better than the xiberia s11 . The xiberia s11 noise cancelling microphone is unmatched I haven't found a head set with a better noise cancelling microphone

Hello, i got the headset but the bass wasn't that good. I tried the jbl quantum engine and it didn't change it at all. Is it because i was on a phone or playstation or is it just the headset?

I'm still waiting on a review unit of the Nova pro so I can't really comment. If it's basically a 7P+ with bluetooth and dual connectivity though, I'm down!
Do they make replacement ear pads for these headphones? Concerned about the longevity of the stock ear pads with excessive use.
They are not detachable although they may sell replacement ear cushions. Not listed on their site sorry.

No, not with this headset. I believe to new 910 does have it's own surround sound but I wont get a change to review them until the new year.
The 810 headset is awesome. It’s the best sounding headset I’ve ever owned. If you are on PC, you should buy them. If you can wait, I saw them for $99 during the holidays.
I dunno about other countries but here in Australia they are constantly on sale.

I know this might sound weird but can I use these for my work calls? I’m on the phones a lot and I need something wireless with a good mic
As a general rule, headsets don't have great mics. If you're specifically after a mic to make your voice sound better, you'll need to invest in a dedicated mic. You can use this headset for video calls and the sound quality will be perfectly fine for that, just don't expect to sound like Barry White.
Does the 810 sound the same when you have it attached to your xbox or ps5? For example does it sound less good when you use the wire instead of the wireless option. For myself i use it on the xbox and it sounds good but does it sound better when you use it wireless on the ps5 since the xbox doesnt support wireless connection
In general, wired should sound better than wireless. However, if you've wired them into a wireless control pad then it will probably sound worse due to compression. In my experience, the sound quality through the USB wireless receiver sounds better than using the wire through a control pad.
What about with the little controller amp the xbox makes? Would that make a difference @goukigod

Yes. Any EQ change made on PC will save to the headset to use on console/mobile device

Thanks for this review! Does the BT functionality connect to two devices simultaneously? Does the dongle come with a USB-C adapter? Does this work as a USB headphone when connected to a PC for charging? How is the fitment over large heads 🙂?

* I don't believe you can get audio through the USB. Wired connection is using the 3.5mm cable.

I haven't tried the elite 2 but these are a better headset in almost every way compared to the 700 gen 2 max. Main reason you'd pick the turtle beach is for wireless xbox compatibility.
@goukigod haha thanks wish I woulda watched your vids sooner, just got the 700 max ps version thinking they'd be compatible with Xbox but it was the Xbox version that is cross-platform smh.
I want to buy an xbox transmitter to see if that works but the 810s will be the next purchase.
will i be able to hear people on phone calls as well as the game at the same time? is there a slider that lets me adjust the sound ratio between phone and game? as i would love to be able to use the headset to pickup phonecalls while playing games and would love to know all about this feature before buying as it does cost quite a bit and im still waiting for a nice sale at JB-HIFI thank you
Yes you can do both at the same time. You have a master volume dial on the headset and a game/chat dial that only works for PC. Otherwise volume is handled on the connected device ie your phone/console.

No. The PS5 doesn't support this on any 3rd party usb or usb dongle headset. Only something like the Astro A50, which uses both an optical and USB signals to split game and chat audio via a separate amp has this feature.

No idea sorry. Without having held or worn the PSVR 2 I couldn't say if these would fit over them.
So when connected to a PC through their usb dongle, can i answer a bluetooth phone call without having to manually switch things over?

But the damned things...auto-shutoff. So, if you connect to phone, but don't have ANY audio coming through them (like say, from your pc,) they will shut off.
Flick switch "ON" again - and it's pc-only connection. You must manually reconnect audio to your phone. Really a PAIN in the ass. I constantly forget, answer the phone, and say "HEY WAIT - let me connect my bluetooth!" Really unprofessional.

Not amazing, although I haven't tried a headset that is. The EPOS H3 Pro hybrid's ANC for example is equally disappointing.
Hey i got thses for Christmas and I'm using them wirred because i play on xbox (ps i didn't want to get theses) but the microphone always has static in the background and it's loud when I'm not talking is there anything i can fix this or am i just suck with the static?
Have you tried using them wired with something else to see if you get the same problem? The static may be coming from the connection to the controller
@@goukigod I just plugged it into my PC and tested it and the static is worse on the pc to the Point it where you can barely hear me over the static.
Update: I just plugged it back into my Xbox and the static Is gone wtf I think it's trolling me at this point so thanks goukigod and I find it cool how you respond to every comment :)
Sounds like it could be the connection. If the static returns maybe just try unplugging and replugging it.

Bluetooth is inherently more laggy than 2.4 GHz although the 810 has bluetooth 5.2 which is the least laggy version of Bluetooth so far.
How do I turn off the lights nd use
Hold the mic mute button for more than 5 seconds to turn the RGB lights on or off. They can also be turned on/off using the software

No, it's a fixed mic. Cannot be removed.

JBL's headsets are good for a lot of things. Wearing outside isn't one of them.

Good question. They're almost identical in terms of features. The 810 is a bit cheaper and has a more bass-forward sound, whereas the H3PRO is definitely more neutral. They're both comfy but I think the H3PRO is the more comfortable of the two. The H3PRO doesn't have lights either if that's something you want.
H3PRO is the most comfortable gaming headphones i owned. I can use it for long gaming session.
Is Thoose better than steelseries headsets and hyperx cloud alpha wireless?
I think it sits somewhere between the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 and the Nova Pro Wireless in terms of features. The JBL is a much more bass forward sounding headset than either of those but they all sound good. The Hyperx cloud alpha wireless is an entry level headset and doesn't compete on either features or sound quality. About the only thing it does better is the insane battery life.

@@goukigod it's a pity, I'm shopping at the moment for a good headset, my main goals are to achieve the best spacial/3d/surround audio and thought this would be a good option, is there any headsets that can use these features without relying on Sony for software?
The Quantum 910 is exactly that, 3D spacial audio built into the headset. Alternatives are the Nova 7 Pro and Astro A50. It's worth bearing in mind though that a stereo headset/headphone with excellent imaging can be just as good as simulated surround sound.

Great review mate. I have the 800's. The auto-shutoff is the worst "feature" you can't disable.
VERY FEW headsets have 1) Bluetooth + Dongle for 2.4, so you can have stereo audio while speaking on Discord/Skype/Zoom. 2) Wireless 3) ANC.
Could you please make a video comparing all of the (five?) headsets out there that do this? The MIC on the 800's is TERRIBLE. (Just hear me on my channel vids...ughf!)
PS - Anyone puzzled needs to know "bluetooth-only" headsets will make everything you hear in MONO and CRAP quality sound - if you use the mic at same time. Not enough bandwidth. SO - you need to get a 2.4 ghz dongle. (Applies to Windows 10.)

It depends on how you look at the mic quality.
As in producing accurate voice? It is terrible indeed.
Yet it is the best mic out there for gaming as it levels the differences in voices and make them bearable and clearly understandable in a noisy gaming environment.
Of course that's a matter of taste, but I would prefer more gamers, especially those with low, bass voice, to use such terrible mics, so I can understand what they are saying through explosives.

They're a little bass heavy out of the box for my taste (I prefer a neutral sound) but you can adjust the levels via the software. For music they are a warm sounding headset but I think they work well for most genres.

Was at jbhifi with a voucher with 160 left on it saw the 410 on sale for 179 thoight yea ill grab them just as i was about to buy them saw the 810 on sale for 174. So fucking glad i saw that. $5 bucks cheaper and they are infinitely better

The Quantum 910X works wirelessly with xbox. It's a bit more expensive due to the surround sound but otherwise it's very similar.

Why you didn't say that this headphones has bad sound quality via wire. And it doesn't work on laptop via usb, only via bluetooth dongle and ordinary bluetooth. Also sometimes sound is distorted via dongle on windows 11. Don't buy JBL!
