That tire looks pretty good for coming in crossways. Pilot must have done a good job keeping it off the runway and then stopping!

I wonder if it castored straight on landing then turned again as he stopped. There was a Jet Blue A320 had the same sort of problem at LAX and that ended up wearing the nose wheels down nearly to the axle.

Wow… that tire was intact after all that. Those pilots not only minimized the damage to the aircraft but the runway likely took minimal damage as well; pilots earned their paycheck with those skills. And most importantly all humans and dogs were safe!

I'm definitely not a pilot or someone with a pilot's attitude, so I don't know, but I imagine this must be one of the worst things, knowing that your landing may be "a little rough" and just having to spend a long amount of time with everything set up but not being able to just go ahead and do it because you need to burn more fuel. Must be nerve-wrecking.

Had a similar nose wheel steer failure with wheel turned on a Lear 45 several years ago. On rollout centerline was maintained with full rudder and differential braking. However, slowing through about 40 knots, the nose wheel steering re-engaged. With the quick/sensitive electric steering on the Lear 45, that was quite a jolt!

Very impressed with everyone, especially the pilot (was that the PIC) who may have been fearing a worst case scenario early on but held it together. There must be situations like this where, even if out of character, you may lose it through fear and either not be able to communicate or get frustrated with ATC.
I did think they asked questions unnecessarily too many times, but things happen like that I guess and Milwaukee was trying it's best.
Must have been an amazingly skilful landing to keep that nose wheel intact at 90 degrees.
