This is Great advice for new riders dad. I aways tell people who i let ride my bikes or come out and are new if i notice they don't have much seat time i always say, Sit forward, elbows up, knees tucked, toes in.. nothing scares me more to watch is someone sitting far back and toes out. Another good tip i say with newer people is have your levers down sat in a position so your wrists are flat. Enjoy your weekend fam.
@@LukesRandomShit from one dad to another, thank you! You can tell we both have people come out and ride our stuff. I had a dad come up with his son, and they drove their quad directly into our pond and sunk it. How does that even happen? Luckily everyone was ok. I hope you and your family have a great weekend! And thanks again!
Thank you so much! When we started doing this I remember how hard it is to talk into a camera 😂 now Michael and I are both doing it and Wyatt is warming up to it ❤️😎
Awesome video mate well done it’s great to see you are out there teaching your son how to ride. You have the same problem is me short legs and a long body. I have never tried riding a full size bike yet only big foot pit bikes which are so more comfortable for me at least I can reach the ground safely
Thank you, for your comment 👍🏻 it’s so cool to have my boys big enough to ride with me now. I’ll be honest, I have more fun riding the little bikes and ATVs more than anything. You can do so much with them and not get hurt as bad 😂😎✊🏻
Great question! I use the throttle and I start the wheelie about half throttle right before the power ban starts. As I’m in the wheelie and the throttle position is 3/4 to almost full. I will shift gears and start that process all over again. Keeping the wheelie in the perfect spot. ✊🏻✊🏻😎
See now i have heard 2 different ways of how to wheely but i like ur way more as thats the way iv been doing it for years when im trying to wheely still cant get the tapping the back breaks tho too used to wheelying mountain bikes and break been up on handle bar 😂 but hopefully when i get more time on bikes i will get used to foot breaking, Other way iv heard everyone else say about wheelying never take off the gas just keep tapping back break when feel like going too far back
I posted a short about doing a wheelie and how I only use throttle and I had close to an even spit that I was doing it wrong. I’m 48 and been riding since I was seven and I have been on just about everything that has 2 and 4 wheels. Back in the early years the ATVs and motorcycles didn’t have any power so we would slip the clutch or on the ATVs we would stand on the bumper 😂 I have a video coming out this Saturday and I talk about balance, wheelies and I made a road jump. I jumped the road jump and was trying to land it and continue riding a wheelie but I ended up looping it and crashing. 😮💩 I talk about the back break and what I did wrong. Thank you so much for your comment!! Mountain biking is the only thing I’ve never done probably because it was too crazy!!! Super cool 😎
i used to break my clutch levers and my front brake levers all the time. the best thing to do so you dont have to keep replacing them is to get some bark busters.
So if you're a motocross guy, you actually do have your feet on the very tips, it adds to your suspension. I rode with my feet the way you showed and I broke my foot.
Very interesting 🤔 I’ve always been planted with ankle directly above the foot peg, so I can rock back and forth and have the protection of the foot peg. Thanks for the comment ✊🏻😎
@@BensOutdoorBoysmotocross teaches a standing position for 99% of the time as the only time you sit is in a corner and to ride on the balls of your feet so you have the flexibility and not break your ankle off a jump.
Hey Ben from New Zealand 🇳🇿 Awesome videos my father taught me to ride when i was young such good memories my first bike was a 1977 Italijett 50cc 2stroke this thing was extremely loud then i got a 1997 kx 125 at 16 then learned to drive sold my bike for driving lessons and haven't been on a bike in 18years. I'm going to get one next year 😊 your videos are great your kids must love riding around the property. Is that big hill on your property?
Hello New Zealand 🇳🇿 Those memories we have with our dads are priceless! What bike are you going to be buying? How exciting! I haven’t been on a two stroke since 2002. I’ve done the whole 4 stroke thing, now going back to my roots. But I’ll be honest, my favorite motorcycle was the YZ250F. We live in 80 acres. 50 acres is hay. We’re thinking about building a track in our hay field. Those hill climbs are probably on my property, but I also have a neighbor that has an outdoor track. We’re fortunate enough to get to ride on it. I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Thanks so much for your support!
@BensOutdoorBoys I'm looking at yz125 or 250 😊. Wow since 2002 you sure haven't lost your touch on the 2stroke loved watching the wheelies video. Wow so much space that would be awesome a track looking forward to more content. Hey Ben could you maybe do a video of how to keep bike safe best ways to prevent them being stolen
@JettTheVizsla I would recommend either one of those bikes. I really do like the YZ250F it’s so easy to ride and the power is so smooth. In 2002 I broke my ankle racing a YZ250 and I couldn’t walk for 8 months. They are definitely super fun and light weight to ride and it’s fun to kinda relearn the two strokes again. My son are super excited to start on the track and do videos of our build. On your video request we have the next three weeks shot and uploaded but we will work on that video and get it out ✊🏻😎 thank you so much for your support 🎉✊🏻😎
I race motocross nationally. please DO NOT RIDE on your heels Instead right on the balls of your feet with your toes, pointed in Then when you jump or go over bumps Your ankle can flex And work one with the suspension and don’t worry about over flexing your ankle with motocross boots on it won’t happen if you jump a jump on the heels of your feet it will feel like you’re landing off a five story building let those ankles do the work. also sagging your heels is like a boat rudder if you sag one and not the other it will put more weight on that side of the bike and that will help moving the bike around easier!!! Great job on the video
I just dont like standing on my arches because you also break your ankles in deep ruts if they get caught or on rocks or big branches and will turn your foot when pointing them out
Noooooooo ❤❤❤❤ don’t ride itttt that’s how you crash the freshy😢😢. Kk great job arms up!!! When you first start out as a kid your number one thing to teach is keep you feet on the pegs. Don’t let them drop below the pegs or you will get tangled up with either the bike or the ground. Causing you to roll your ankle or break it and also squeezing your legs and thighs on the motorcycle. If you have seen my son ride he was using his entire foot to shift which is a huge no-no. I definitely appreciate your comment and addressing the foot position. Definitely have merits and the position that you’re talking about. ✊🏻😎
@@BensOutdoorBoys ah... no. You never start a kid off with incorrect foot position (bad form). And what do you mean he would shift with his "entire foot"??
@mareksumguy1887 He was taking his foot completely off the foot peg and put it under the shifter. His TTR110 was super hard to shift so he would shift it like that. He most definitely would have broke his ankle that way if he was to continue. I’m trying to teach him to keep his foot on the peg and shift with his toes and to keep his ankle protected by the foot peg. You are definitely correct about the balls of your feet. 👍🏻 I just feel like his feet are to short… Thank you again for your comment definitely makes me think. Is my short term solution going to be hard to beak later. Thanks again 👍🏻
I’m teaching young kids how to protect kids from dropping their feet and breaking ankles. Keeping your feet planted and rock them back and forth is a great way to keep them safe. Especially when they’re young. You are correct though, as they progress with their riding skills you will ride more on the balls of your feet. 👍🏻😎
Ride on the balls of your feet not the midsole. If you was racing motocross, or supercross you would ride on the midsole if you was about to case a jump.

When you use the clutch it puts the bike into instant power, causing it harder to control your wheelie and a greater chance of flipping it.
