I have been using samsung phones for about 14 years, & I never seen this texting application. I always just used the default samsung text messaging app. I just upgraded to the s23 & the Google message app is apparently the new standard texting feature. I believe you have the option to switch between the two apps.
But do like new feature

The only thing keeping me away from google messages in my s23 ultra is i can't search messages with keywords
It sucks. I'm in a groupchat with four other people and then it automatically breaks the conversation into two groups and then three and sometimes four, to the point I'm no longer in a conversation with the person who was the point of contact. COMPLETELY LOST

To make the font smaller in Google Messages - When you are in a conversation Pinch and Zoom to make it larger then Pinch to make it smaller.

There's a feature that I found accidentally where you can reply to a very specific text.. It was a swipe to one side or the other I cannot feel the life of me figure out how to do it again but it allowed me to capture that message specifically and reply directly to it and it showed that way in The chat thread If you can explain to me how this works I would be very grateful!

can you help? I switched to this messaging app and really like it except, I text often to 2 people or more. Each time one of them replies, it doesn't go into the group thread, it comes to me separately and when I respond it sends to me, too. There has to be a setting that I am missing.

I use this app, Super Backup and Restore for Android.... It makes a scheduled backup daily and will backup manually if you have something you want backed up right then. It would depend on when the message was deleted, but I have used this for years and never had a problem with it.
Wtf, seems you can't just type the msg then choose whete it's going, what junk, same with samsung they force you to enter a number or choose who its going to before you can start the msg, too micro managing/controlling...

This app is garbage. I can't simply search for a word in one of my text - but I know that word is present in MANY texts. Does anybody have a recommendation for a good simple SMS please? The default Xiaomi one was perfect but now it's constantly telling you to install the Google garbage
