yeah i think 3-4 is the sweet spot for one piece, depending on how many episodes are left in an arc. can be weird to end an arc halfway through a video and start a new one

I will say I also personally prefer to watch in dubbed, mostly because I am dyslexic and reading subtitles is a struggle. I honestly think the One Piece English dub really is one of the better casts.

Yeah Luffy is unusually strong for a Shonen protagonist in episode 1. Compared to how much Naruto for example needs to improve in his first few adventures, Luffy starts out much stronger for his respective world. The challenges he encounters aren't generally challenging his strength at first but rather situations where he's at a disadvantage that he must find a way to overcome.

You will have fun trust me... I also thought one piece's 900+ episodes (at the time) was daunting. But after a few episodes I was hooked, after a few hundred episodes I kept thinking how many episodes I have left. I HAVE LEFT!!! Imagine how good a series is to think that you would be worried because you have hundreds of episodes left.

Consider this a slow burning series. There will be ups and downs, and the pace will be slow. But wants you get far enough into the series and look back you’ll realize how enriching One piece is. That all this time invested meant something and built to the point in that story. I believe when you reach that point you’ll fully understand why the series is so beloved

I'll be waiting for you in wano arc
One of my friend has started One Piece too, what I personally recommended him (as he finds until Alabasta's arc a bit sleeper, which in a way it can be perceived like that), it was to read until chapter 302, aka episode 195 and then start watching from there as the animation becomes much better quality and the arcs become really good.
Don't get me wrong, Skypiea's arc is one of my favorite (before chapter 302), but it still isn't really good animation quality just like after episode 195. The only reason I recommend to read until there is mainly because of animation quality. Otherwise about the "sleeper arcs" then from a general point of view, it would be until Alabasta. From my POV, it would be til Syrup's village.
Hope your journey through the One Piece adventure becomes really enjoyable.
