I went with 14" exactly because of portability. And you are so right, after sitting a the desk all day for a 9-5, the last thing I want is to keep sitting at that same desk for another 5-6 hours of editing, so I take it to a couch or something. But also, you said: if you are not planning on moving it much and it will be at your desk all the time, then go with 16". Well if my laptop is at my desk, I will hook it up to a screen 100%, for more screen real estate. So then whats the point of having a 16" at your desk, if it will be hooked up to a monitor? I decided - I can always make a 14" be bigger via a monitor, but I cannot make a 16" smaller for travel.. So 14" it is!
@Ibrahim H thats true, but in practice, I only need that new display for color grading, so I can do that on the laptop, and continue editing everything else through the monitor At least thats how ive been doing things before lol
@Ibrahim H In my experience even the best 16” laptop screen is not going to compete in terms of ergonomics and real estate to one, or better two, large (>=27”) external screens. If you have complex user interfaces like audio or video editors, you need LOTS of screen space to work at maximum efficiency . A laptop screen is always a compromise in terms of size and good ergonomics
But the quality of the monitor will never be as good as the Macbook pro screen, besides that there are other important considerations like the fans that work better on the 16" model and its battery.
Oooh! Love both your vids. Cant wait for more and the coming 14 and 16 specced out vids.. Just curious. I have a question to both you and Terry ^_^. Since I don't really have the funds to purchase any of it.. What would be the difference or the chances of having the base model vs the fully specced when editing just 1080p contents and not the 4k for simple youtube vids.. would it be faster on the fully specced one vs the base model? Or just the same? I have (1) 27k monitor and (1) 34k ultrawide monitor but can't hook both due to laptop limitations HP pavillion 15 inch (not the gaming with nvidia ge force mx150) Ever since I also tried to stream and do screen record at the same time it gets laggy, hangs and gets hot.. Then was looking up at the M1 mac mini or new m1 mac air.. this came up and really love what final cut might bring in regards to that it might really be easier to use than what I'm using right now.. Can you do vids on just an insight regarding editing of 1080 content? I also dont understand what 8, 10, 12 cores mean plus the 16 or 32 unifiedbmemory means . Haha!. Specced vs base vs having both just in between specs.. 14 inch looks great, but 16 does look great too. Haha! Thanks!
I really really wanted the 14, completely intended to get it, but then I found a 16 in stock and, being as impatient as I am, went for it. As I get older, my eyes are not what they used to be (TBH they were never that great haha) and I definitely appreciate the larger screen of the 16. I lose some of the real estate because I increased the zoom a level from the default. Don't get me wrong, I would love the 14 for the portability, but I'm happy I got the 16 and don't regret it.
@@Amine382 I don't find it too bad, and compared to other machines with similar screen size, it's quite thin and light. I don't find it too heavy or bulky to carry around, but I lift weights. For somebody who doesn't, or somebody who is smaller, they might feel differently. I've also had to carry around PCs for work which are way bulkier and heavier, and compared to them this is a feather! I do think though that if portability is the number one concern, you should look at the 14" or the Airs.
I went with the 16”. My work computer is a 14” screen and for me that’s too small to do any type of multi tasking on. If I need something portable I use my iPad Pro. But the screen and speakers on the 16” are awesome! In college I used the 15.4” and didn’t find it too big for carrying in my backpack and around campus. The only instance where I would get the 14” is if I was using it on planes a lot, the 16” is a no go on those tray tables!
I have always preferred smaller laptops but for the very first time I am considering the 16". Yes, it has more area for editing etc. but the main reason is because I watch lot of films/videos and with that big HDR screen and speakers it would make a great viewing device when I'm not around a TV.
I think you get used to either size without missing the other. I am switching to 16 for the speaker sound quality and screen real estate at the cost of portability. However you also get better battery life with 16".
I been back and forth and finally settled for 16. Tried them both in the store and I don't travel alot like that just from school and internships where I'm on a desk alot anyway. Coming from a 13 I'm looking forward to it
About 1.5 years into my M1 Pro 14" MBP, I'm wishing that I had gotten the 16" instead. My next machine will probably be the larger size, because while I like the portability, even when I'm on the go I need more of a workstation. Changing the scaling to the smallest option has definitely helped.
Pick up a second 14 portable monitor. It will outclass an additional 2 inches any day and is very light. Just keep it in a hard case. For serious work station the monduo triple is perfect addition to the 14inch. Of course not “lappable” so tray tables, car seat, trains etc would be out but can work at any desk or table.
Real talk, I was able to use the 14inch anywhere I want and not feel fatigue like I always get with the dell xps15. I can't imagine using the 16 inch the way I be using the 14 on couch, bed, bathroom, standing up, etc. You just can't do that comfortably with the 16, xps15 was already uncomfortable to use on my couch and I fatigue a lot quicker. Experience is much better for the 14 and do not regret getting the 14 inch. So glad I didn't go with the 16 due to my experience with Dell xps 15.
My current machine is 16” MacBook Pro 2019. I only move it from room to room on one level. I love the extra space to rest my hands as I use the keyboard. The new 16” has an amazing larger screen which will be helpful in my work in design. It is so comfortable whether I am sitting at a desk, curled up on the couch, everywhere. The 14” looks amazing as well. I ordered the new 16”, taking a real hit on my old 16”, I’m mov’in on.
I had the MacBook Air and couldn’t stand how small it was for editing video, so I got rid out of it and have been waiting forever for the 16” to arrive. I use my 12.9” iPad Pro for portability when traveling, but I don’t mind lugging a 16”. I had a 17” in college and it was fine. I typically travel with a backpack, so the 16” will be fine
I'm going for the 16, I've worked on smaller screen laptops at my job and I always find myself inhibited by the screen real estate. I currently have a 18" MSI gaming laptop and its a beast to take with me. So going from this behemoth to a 16" macbook pro will not be an issue. Great video, appreciate your point of view!
I ordered a 16" right after the announcement. Then as more and more videos came out, I started to question both the size and my particular configuration. Did I really need the M1 MAX? Would I get benefit from 24 graphics cores. So I went to the Apple Store, looked at and lifted both models and realized I'd overbought. Cancelled my 16" order and ordered a 14" instead. Still 32GB memory, still 1TB SSD, but an M1 PRO with 16 graphics cores. It'll be more than enough for my photographic work.
@Tweed Penguin Call it the Scientific Method. Revising your view as more data comes in feels perfectly reasonable to me. And in the end I';m glad I did reevaluate. The 14" suits me better, and the lower price tag's nice as well.
16" team. As a designer, I need all the pixel real state as possible for the UI. I hate using large external monitors since I have ADD and need to focus on one app screen at a time. I also like to keep my desk minimal. Just me and my 16" MBP.
I went with the 16 inch. After seeing them in person, the screen on the 16 inch just felt so much more impressive to me that I couldn't pass it up. It's definitely a less portable laptop, but at least for me, it's plenty portable to carry around the house and even throw in a backpack to take somewhere. Admittedly, I don't think I'd want to use it on a plane, but I have trouble working while in such a space regardless of the computer I'm using anyway, so it's not a huge loss for me. I'm sure the 14 inch is a great machine as well, but for me and my use cases, the 16 inch was the clear winner. I also love the longer battery life.
The great part about the 14" and 16" is that you get to pick depending on your on preferences. You can get the same machine at both sizes so really its up to you to choose. You're definitely making me more excited to the the new 14"!
@@HeyDaniiel For sure I am not sure exactly the performance but I think the tradeoff for people is worth it for the ones that do want the 14" because it's more portable. Got my 14" and it works amazingly for what I need but I am in web development and not doing crazy video editing that would spin up the fans.
My 15” is about the same size as the 16” and I can honestly say that I’ve never had any issues with portability. That said, I’m a big guy so the 16” is probably for me what the 14” is for regular sized people. With the 14” I would feel more need for an external monitor. The 16” is large enough to do most work comfortably.
What your type of work? I usually do programming and video editing and the 16" isn't big enough anyway, I always had to connect it to my LG Ultrafine 27" 5K. For that reason I got the 14", in desk I had my big monitor, on the go, the 14" is much better.
Instant sub, your vibe is next level! I spent a few weeks with the 16 and am going back and forth on if I should go 14 or not... You definitely helped me decide. Keep on that grind!
I also chose the 14 (coming from a 16") as much as I love the extra screen realestate, it's just so combersome when travelling, it barely fits on meal trays on flights. When I'm at home / studio, I usually do all my work on an ultrawide 4k. So I chose portability this time round. Hoping I'll be happy with the new 14 inch.
same, I had a 17 back in the day and carrying something around that big is such an annoyance and not to mention how awkward the thing looks. The design looks unproportional, while the 14 size looks perfect.
@@user-zc9zt2vl5s mine arrived last week. I'm really enjoying it so far. I know there are some differences in performance during heavy workloads between the 14 and 16, but I doubt I'll ever push the system to that limit, so I'll take the portability. I've yet to test the battery life.
Lugged a 16" MBP around throughout the pandemic along with the iPhone Pro Max. Went with the 14" and Pro. Tired of lugging around them cookie sheets! 🤣🤣🤣
I am currently using the MacBook Pro 13" M1 with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD storage. I am basically very satisfied and would also say that the investment was worth it. It is small, but not too small for me. Currently, the performance is still relatively good, even though I sometimes reach the limits. I might sell my MacBook in 1 to 2 years to buy the 14 inch used. It just wouldn't be worth it to sell my MacBook now and then buy a new one. That would be a very big loss for not even a year of use.
I ordered the 16". The first week, I was in love with the machine and its performance. Now, sometimes I doubt whether I should have gone for the 14", because I liked the portability of my 13". However, I think that portability is not the only factor for making something a create travel laptop. Actually, the 16" allows me to work on creative projects in the train quite comfortably. Before, I was postponing editing heavy creative projects till when I'm home, but now, there is little reason to not work on pictures, video's or music when I'm on the road. The screen size and great battery life make creative work on the go quite a lot less compromised. Before I was mostly doing general business work or typing on the go.
On point. If you get your work done comfortably on 16" machine, that's top priority = Power and portability. I never understood all the complaints about "extra weight" or "too heavy". You don't buy a 16" MBP M1 Pro or Max to mess around at Starbucks. You're a professional, getting real work done. That's the way I see it anyways. Have an awesome, productive 2022.
Had me at "carrying around a freaken cookie sheet" 😂 I think I'm in the same boat, 15-16 " laptop is very cumbersome. 14 is nice middleground, plus I got an PC with an ultrawide if I want something larger.
I bought 14”, coming from a 15”, wanted to take it back immediately, and get the 16”, but every time I’m ready to go take it back something comes up and can’t leave. I think it’s a sign to not go through the hassle, and to to just keep this. Seems tiny, but definitely better than 13”.
Very helpful video T. thank you. I've had the 15in MacBook Pro for 10 years. It's time to upgrade. I got the 14in and it's a bit smaller, but the portability is night and day. The screen is stunning, but smaller. I've never owned the 16in. I'm sure I'd like it for home use; but I'd probably be uneasy about taking that thing for traveling or going to Starbucks, etc. Even the 15in tends to be a bit big for traveling (to me). Again, I'm still getting used to the 14in--but thanks for the helpful video. Peace. Don
I’m in the market for one of these macs. Super appreciate this vid. Outta all the tech channels I can legitimately say you’re the only one that puts swag on your clips man.
NO TOO SMOLL!! 🤣I just discovered your channel and after watching an army of benchmark comparison videos from other creators your videos are a massive breath of funny fresh air. *subscribed!*
Bruh, Im sending my 14" back. Editing on that screen is just not that comfortable to me. I'd definitely rather have the screen real estate. And the 15" MBP is the same size overall as the 16" lol. They just made the display bigger by shortening the bezels.
I went for the 14 inch m1 max 32GB and 1TB SSD. It will maybe replace my 13 inch M1. I say maybe because I realize that for the majority of the task I was doing, I am not seeing improvement. The battery life is not good compared to the incredible longevity of the Macbook pro M1. It still as problems in real time in final cut pro with playback of blurred title. But when rendering the final file it is faster by a lot. My other use are photoshop, illustrator, indesign (I am a graphic designer and I do youtube video for fun). I love the size and portability with the gorgeous screen.
Love that you're into aircraft also! F22, Blackbird, :) I have always loved aircraft and just under two years ago I got into building and flying FPV drones, initially for filmmaking, but I fell in love with flying and often fly just for fun now.
I agree. Same. The 2017 15” was just to,I he for travel, and I travel a lot. I was using my iPad Pro for most stuff. Just because easy to grab and go. The 14” was perfect. Sold my 2017 MBP 15” and IPad Pro 12.9. Got the MBP 14” Max and iPad Mini gen 6. Perfect match. Any backpack easy fit, easy take out and work and not just taking up space on airplanes try table. Love your channel Terry.
I bought the 14" for the portability and it fits in my camera bag for location shoot's, its easy enough to plug a 27" monitor in when sitting at my desk, editing images.
I'll get mine this weekend. Ordered MBP 16 Max with 24 GPU Cores, 64 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD. Was using MBP 15 from 2017, and the size difference is minor. But still am not sure whether 14 wouldn't have been better as it is more mobile than 16
Great points! This has been a hard choice for me to make (especially because my country won't have these laptops on physical stores until next year) so my comparison baseline is only last year's models. But after opining back and forth, I'm think I'm settling with the 14" since borders and travel is opening up, and like you mentioned, just being able to refresh myself from working on my desk all day, moving to another room, is good. And both do closed docking just fine.
Thanks for this video. Portability is definitely important even around the house. I want a laptop I can hold in one hand so I can type with the other if I need to stand up.
I went with the 16 inch because if I'm paying that kind of money then I want the best screen, speakers, and touch pad. I'll put up with moving around with it. It's not that back on the couch with the 16in but obviously not as good as using the 14in. I think it's up to your use case. I kind of wish I held off until the 15in MBA.
I am actually downgrading from my 16 inch i9 to the 14 inch. Both overkill for me but I look forward to a more portable device that runs quiet and cool.
I can't deal all the compromises the 14" macbooks have. Worse cooling, worse speakers, shorter battery life. I got a 15" MBP from 2019, it's damn near the same size in foot print, only the 2019 15 inch way thinner in design. The thing gets warm. It has fans are always working. I haven't heard the fans on my M3 pro 16" kick on once.
I went with the 14" for the same reasons. I also agree that the screen size is much more usable than my MBAir M1's 13". The mini LED is a huge benefit too. Nice job on this video. Thank you!
i was thinking 16 for sure but now im thinking 14. since i just ordered a alienware aw3423dwf monitor, i was thinking of getting a studio mac but i would like to record gopro footage and upload at the spot and carry on as i dont have much SD cards for the gopro.
Went with the beast config 1M Pro 14” (10/16/32/4). A 2016 MacBook Pro 13 is going for sale (i7-6567U/16GB/1TB). This 14” got me as excited as a late 2013 MacBook Pro 15 (i7-4960HQ/16GB/1TB), which still is running strong after 8 years of use and which is planned to be kept forever as my very first Mac, best designed and engineered notebook at that time and best overall computer I’ve ever had.
I also have a late 2013 MBP, still working smooth but anyway, now I want to upgrade and I am with this dilema with the 14" or 16" screen, since I am used to the 15" and it was perfect to me. I guess the 16" 2021 will not feel heavy since the 2013 is quite heavy anyway
@@2o2k78 If you did not had the thought throughout these years “it would be nice if this MacBook Pro would be slightly smaller and less heavy” popping up many times in your head, than I am sure you would be happy with the 16” one. I would suggest going for the Pro chip for sure though, since with it it is slightly less heavy and it will run circles around the 2013 machine on all fronts. I love my M1 Pro 14” and have set up used M1 Max 16”. It is heavy for sure. Since when stationary at home / office I always have external 27” display connected - in no way I fell cramped with 14”. On the go it is also fine. You really cannot go wrong with any of those. I’ve compared 2013 15” to M1 Pro 16” and they are literally of the same size. 16” is like 100g heavier or something, but at the same time much cooler, a lot faster, touch ID and amazing display (found that a notch is not an issue at all, even ended up not hiding it in any way), great speakers etc etc… If you do go for 14” I think you will adjust to slightly less screen estate too (not much smaller usable space really). It will be quite a bit more compact though and still feel like the best notebook ever, like 2013 15” model felt back in the days) If you are not using external displays and not planning to use one - go for the 16” for sure.
I was offered a second hand 14 and 16 inch m1 macbook pro 16 gb memory and 1 TB SSD for 1500$ and 1600$ and they look both like new really, no scratch at all ! I couldnt decide which one to keep and as they are both at such good price and state i kept them both … 😅 What do you think ? A bit crazy ? The 14 inch is more portable and i love the screen of the 16 inch !
winter is coming, so i'm still warming my room with the 2019 16 inch. I will probably get a maxed 14 inch down the line if I start to use a lot of docker containers but my current workflow doesn't require it.
And the M1 Max is killer fast but not excessive. Luxurious rather. If I could afford it, it would be the 16", M1 Max, 16GB, minimum storage + Sabrent External.
Super indecisive so I literally bought both. Plan is to cancel the order when I decide. The 14" came in first and I've been mulling over the differences. I am leaning towards the 14" right now...
The indecisiveness is understandable, given the endless supply of "informative" videos and articles out there. I did/decided something similar, having both my 2011 MBP and 2008 both recently take a nosedive, I bought a M1 Air, and am likely ordering a 16" M1 Max. 2 laptops, isn't that excessive and expensive? Yes to both questions, but I want the power, silence /relative silence and portability. All the best with getting laser focused and decisive.
the 16inch is not hard to carry around. Mine stays in my Herschel backpack and I travel as well. I think people over dramatic how big the 16inch is. Once you start using it everyday it everything else seems to much smaller. Plus Peter display and speakers . hands down better than the 14'. You get a lil bit more for ya money with the 16 inch. Mine lives in my backpack mostly.
That’s your opinion my guy. I have tested both, and I much prefer the 14. I do appreciate the bigger screen and better speakers, but that’s not a big enough trade off for me to go with the bigger size
It comes down to price. I had a Dell 1720 for years, 15" was a bit small. The 16" MacBook is a perfect size... to drool for but not many can afford it. Having said that, 14" is borderline okay, light and compact. For the same reason, price... I may have to go for an M1 13" but I'm not going to kid myself that it's better. It isn't.
I’m leaning towards the 14 inch with the 24 core m1 max ….I’m gunna go in the store and look at them soon if the screen size look right and consider the portability I might pull the trigger …. If the 16 is too compelling it’ll probably be the base model I get .
I bought a 17” Laptop thinking the extra real estate would be nice. What a mistake. Great PC but it feels just like walking with a cookie sheet in your hands. It’s sits on my desk and there it stays. 14 inch is the way to go. 🥂
I was weighing between the 13.3" or the 15.6" samsung galaxy book 2. I went with the 15.6" after seeing this video. It's only 1.1kg so it's lighter than even the 13" macbook pro. It feels like the portability is because of the weight and not the size of it.
I got a full on 16" M1 Max for my workhorse, and the M1 Air for starbucks/backpack/day trips. The 14 is definitely appealing if LR isn't cramped on it.
That is indeed the point of pain for me with the MacBook Air M1. Everything about it is pretty much on point, at 16GB and 1TB storage .... Dang, that screen size though =( That being said, going for a 2nd laptop i.e. 16" MBP M1 Max just for the screen is insane. However, I'm looking at that combo because I need to replace a now dead MacPro tower, but want to move forward with power and portability. Get whatever you need and even want for the present and long-term, not according to anyone else's suggestions about what you need. Cheers.
currently using 15inches macbook pro which i think its a perfect size. considering to upgrade to a new macbook pro and been hesitate if 14 is too small and 16 is too big.
I might ruffle some feathers with this one, but ARE YOU TEAM 14" OR TEAM 16" M1 PRO MACBOOK PRO??

went with the fully maxed out 16" except for storage, only 2tb
Was able to get the 16 for the same price open box as the 14 wanted something light but my eyes are getting worse so switched
I’m a maximum efficiency guy so I use the smaller 14 with the smallest scaling to get the same usable space as the 16
bruh I cant decide, my 13 def feels way too small though
@@Milan-cf1xe its two sides of a coin! I always had 15”, so i figured ill experiment a little 😅

@Ibrahim H thats true, but in practice, I only need that new display for color grading, so I can do that on the laptop, and continue editing everything else through the monitor
At least thats how ive been doing things before lol
@Ibrahim H In my experience even the best 16” laptop screen is not going to compete in terms of ergonomics and real estate to one, or better two, large (>=27”) external screens. If you have complex user interfaces like audio or video editors, you need LOTS of screen space to work at maximum efficiency . A laptop screen is always a compromise in terms of size and good ergonomics
That's the point dock it , as I thought, and can't make the 16 smaller 👍👍👍
But the quality of the monitor will never be as good as the Macbook pro screen, besides that there are other important considerations like the fans that work better on the 16" model and its battery.
"... and I cannot lie" 😂🤣I completely agree. The 16 is amazing to use and I love it - but that 14 is probably the sweet spot for most users!

14” for me, previous MBP was the 2018 15” version. As a General Contractor I’m constantly on the move. 14” hits the sweet spot
16” was my sweet spot! Don’t plan on traveling much with it. The 14” was super tempting, ya dig. But the price wasn’t that much more.
Great video. I've litterally watch over 20-30 videos on this topic of the new MacBook pro choices. You've nailed it. You deserve an award!
Isn’t it too heavy and bulky ?
@@Amine382 I don't find it too bad, and compared to other machines with similar screen size, it's quite thin and light. I don't find it too heavy or bulky to carry around, but I lift weights. For somebody who doesn't, or somebody who is smaller, they might feel differently. I've also had to carry around PCs for work which are way bulkier and heavier, and compared to them this is a feather! I do think though that if portability is the number one concern, you should look at the 14" or the Airs.
@@shirokuro73 thanks 🙏
I went with the 16”. My work computer is a 14” screen and for me that’s too small to do any type of multi tasking on. If I need something portable I use my iPad Pro. But the screen and speakers on the 16” are awesome! In college I used the 15.4” and didn’t find it too big for carrying in my backpack and around campus. The only instance where I would get the 14” is if I was using it on planes a lot, the 16” is a no go on those tray tables!
16 not heavy to me at all
this is a helpful comment thank you
Helpful comment
"I'll just frickin dock it." Lol.
Good point
One of the most underrated channels on RUclips. Quality is top notch and the discussions are invaluable. Thank you Terry!
You gotta be famous soon - too good
The great part about the 14" and 16" is that you get to pick depending on your on preferences. You can get the same machine at both sizes so really its up to you to choose. You're definitely making me more excited to the the new 14"!
but the fans and battery are better on the 16" that's the thing, it can handle heat in a better way.
Bro ur such a goat. Strait up to the point, gives me a laugh, underrated
I just don't know! I have the 16" right now.. thinking of returning it and going down to 14"..The 16 is certainly massive.
Instant sub, your vibe is next level! I spent a few weeks with the 16 and am going back and forth on if I should go 14 or not... You definitely helped me decide. Keep on that grind!
So what did you decide?
@@deeplyrootedbeauty 16 inch. It was the right move for sure
I really wanted the 14” but for thermal reasons I ordered the 16”. Also got a good deal on the 16” M1 Max
This gent is very relatable… thanks for the review and feedback
Thanks for the video. It helped me make my decision! Respect from Barbados 🇧🇧
Lmao that title and beginning...Giggity Giggity. Bout to go to the store for that 10 core 16 core 32 ram...14 inch for travel, dope video bro.
Had me at "carrying around a freaken cookie sheet" 😂
I think I'm in the same boat, 15-16 " laptop is very cumbersome.
Coming from a 15", the 14" will look weird in the first days, a week later, will be much better.
@@edimarjunior9616 yeah your right, I'm getting used to it already
with that screen you gotta go for the 16 inch & you get the extra 4-5hrs of battery life compared to the 14
I ordered the 14 for the same reason. Thanks for justifying my decision. You described it better than I was thinking.
The screen quality and the speakers on the 16 omg
Very helpful video T. thank you. I've had the 15in MacBook Pro for 10 years. It's time to upgrade. I got the 14in and it's a bit smaller, but the portability is night and day. The screen is stunning, but smaller. I've never owned the 16in. I'm sure I'd like it for home use; but I'd probably be uneasy about taking that thing for traveling or going to Starbucks, etc. Even the 15in tends to be a bit big for traveling (to me). Again, I'm still getting used to the 14in--but thanks for the helpful video. Peace. Don
MacBook Pro 16" all the way! After I'm done with work, I used it to watch my shows and its great.
New favorite channel, good stuff bro.
Bruh, Im sending my 14" back. Editing on that screen is just not that comfortable to me. I'd definitely rather have the screen real estate. And the 15" MBP is the same size overall as the 16" lol. They just made the display bigger by shortening the bezels.
The 15" is considerably smaller than the new 16", much thinner and lighter too.
Thanks for making me feel good about my purchase XD
Love that you're into aircraft also!
F22, Blackbird, :)
I have always loved aircraft and just under two years ago I got into building and flying FPV drones, initially for filmmaking, but I fell in love with flying and often fly just for fun now.
I agree. Love your channel Terry.
i got the 14 10 core , usually ill go for the 16 but I feel like u said. that 14 is the sweet spot
Although it’s great review, I have some reservations about this choice because he has a big monitor to relay on when he needs it unlike most people
14" gang for the same reasons, I'm always on the go and needed something easy to travel with.
16" is for me... better sounds quality , less fan noise and the extra screen room do make difference in daily life.
Great video love how you broke this down. Definitely have me thinking which size to get!
It’s computers y’all. Y’all gotta relax 🤣🤣
Completely agree .. the 24 inch is much easier to handle and carry around.. overall much comfortable size.
But still am not sure whether 14 wouldn't have been better as it is more mobile than 16
You actually helped me make up my mind. Thank you!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 brilliant intro
I totally understand people liking the smaller size more. I prefer larger laptops but that’s just me lol
And both do closed docking just fine.
great video. the beginning was very entertaining
Thanks for this video. Portability is definitely important even around the house. I want a laptop I can hold in one hand so I can type with the other if I need to stand up.
I have 14” and 16” and yes 14” way better for mobile work .16” super hard to carry around ,I give it to my brother and keep the 14” loving it for sure
Hands down, best reviews and great style
I am actually downgrading from my 16 inch i9 to the 14 inch. Both overkill for me but I look forward to a more portable device that runs quiet and cool.
Did u already upgrade it ? If so how does it feel compared to the 16 inch I9 because I got the exact same plan
@@wessafy5992 no regrets. It's quiet, cool, fans barely kick on and the screen is stunning. Very expensive of course though
Thank you!
best review on the topic i've seen so far
14 max fully speced, gonna get here finally next week
“A fricken cookie sheet” I’m dying lol
i was thinking 16 for sure but now im thinking 14. since i just ordered a alienware aw3423dwf monitor, i was thinking of getting a studio mac but i would like to record gopro footage and upload at the spot and carry on as i dont have much SD cards for the gopro.
This is exactly while I snacked a 14” M1 Max
Nah, 14 is the best size. 16 is way too big and looks awkward as hell. Might as well get an iMac then. You made the right choice.
16” is like 100g heavier or something, but at the same time much cooler, a lot faster, touch ID and amazing display (found that a notch is not an issue at all, even ended up not hiding it in any way), great speakers etc etc…
If you do go for 14” I think you will adjust to slightly less screen estate too (not much smaller usable space really). It will be quite a bit more compact though and still feel like the best notebook ever, like 2013 15” model felt back in the days)
If you are not using external displays and not planning to use one - go for the 16” for sure.
@@Ivan_1986 Thanks for the advice!
@@2o2k78 glad if that helped. For sure when spending so much on a notebook all of us want to choose "the right one" )

Does the sound differ that much from connecting the deity d3 into a separate recorder vs the camera ?
First time here, like the style 😆
Moral of the story - get whatever it is you want.
@@TerryWarfield The bigger the better ;)
Watching this on the 14" M1 pro. Great video!
I'm coming from the maxed out 2018 15"
16GB is not very much but enough since the SSD is 5-6GBs. It doesn't get much slower. I guess Maxs test showed it.
It isn't.
I like the 14” my man, my missus keeps telling I must have a bigger one !!!! She’s confusing me.
I’m leaning towards the 14 inch with the 24 core m1 max ….I’m gunna go in the store and look at them soon if the screen size look right and consider the portability I might pull the trigger …. If the 16 is too compelling it’ll probably be the base model I get .
Respect bro. Don't skip leg day though.
Check my community tab post from a week ago. Trust me I don’t lol
I totally get that, and concur.
Awesome video chief
Going with the 14 because I mainly keep mine docked anyway.
The cookie sheet comment 😂 If portability isn't an issue would you of gotten the 16 inch? I am currently on the 13 MBP m1 and its just too small
What u end up getting
