The situation for Chinese kids are just different. Since the population is large and parents with capability will let kids try bunch of 'hobbies' other than school and pick the one that the kids is most interested. There is always a period of time when that hobby is at a bottleneck and parents need to either push their kids (accompany them with critiques) or shift to something else. Comparatively, cubing is cheaper then most other hobbies like piano or golf and with demand there will be supply, like these courses. At least spending time in these places will let parents feel better then they playing games at home. Whoever stand out with a good result came through a good amount of practicing no matter how the process is. I do like the video that there is through research after it.

absolutely agreed with the demand and supply, and especially parents want it (therefore they are willing to pay for it).
Also feel like I have to mention that since cubing is literally in the curriculum for many schools, I'm pretty sure a lot of parents also want to give their kids lessons in cubing to get an edge.
      Thanks for your comment.

Chinese parents will do anything for their kids to get an edge, and often time against kids' will lol. But I am happy that it is in the curriculum since that mean cubing is been recognized as something positive for kids education and more students can get evolve.
With that population base, one day there will be a lot of Chinese player at top if the percentage of people playing cube is the same with, lets say, US. Top 100 3*3 CN vs US is like 1:2, I wont be surprise if it eventually becomes 1:1 and more.@@LevelUpCewb

For me, though this isn’t cheating, it makes cubing less fun. I think getting fast should be hard earned over a long period of time and your times should be earned by you. I don’t think cubers should be forced to cube by other people. Notice how when Yiheng got his WR average, he didn’t celebrate or seem surprised or even happy? Not a great representation of what cubing is at all..

I would agree this isn't cheating, but probably not exactly fully a good thing.
Cubing is becoming less of a hobby with this as they might be potentially "forced" to cube.
One thing to note, when he got WR average, he didn't celebrate and that might have been because he was afraid of a potential issue like in his last competition with the misscramble wr incident.

no, he was surprised look at his avg at home, also when you are forced to do something you will probably like it and continue doing it for ever, it's ultimatly your desicion

here's the thing if you cube outside of when the "cubing curriculum" is a thing, I'd assume the same thing happens.
As far as I'm aware, cubing can often even be it's own class where you're dedicated to learning how to solve a cube and possibly even practice and get better.

Correction: Ruihang has only had one coach in his cubing career and it was very early on. Instead of kids like Yiheng and Bofang he's more like Max Siauw/Sameer/Matty/Luke type that just practices it as a hobby

if I'm not mistaken that's why I said he has had at least 1 coach cause at that time I couldn't verify whether he had any other coaches through his career.
