6:10 That MF actually does move before you free him or fight Gargoyles. In my one play-through, I wanted some easy firekeeper souls, so I went down into Blight Town (with the master key) and did a suicide run to get the firekeeper soul there. Other bleed weapons only do 30% max health as damage.

This was really awesome, I love watching your videos and as another trans fem challenge runner (this isnt my public account for privacy reasons) I get super inspired seeing people like you do these runs
FaP really shines at higher levels, at 30/30 vit/endurance the ring gives the same effect as if you were 40/40, and it just gets better with more stats investment since it scales with %. FaP if anything is a bit lackluster at low levels, but still has a huge impact early game. Really that ring is crazy good, 10-30 worth of stats depending on lvl for 1 slot
FaP ring is not strength only. its insane early on, just because it becomes a bit more niche later on doesnt mitigate the fact the ring literally saves you from leveling vit and endurance for several bosses so you get to output more damage
I used it at the beginning of a run I've yet to make a video out of lol. It's really fun, I liked it a lot, but if I were to use it more than I did, I'd want to do it in remastest or something
I believe you're severely underestimating just how useful FAP thing is. For any build that isn't a glass cannon or some other specific setup, it's always optimal to take it for the % stamina and health increase, and the carry weight is very relevant for achieving poise thresholds with light rolls for something like PVP. Though, for PVE minmaxing defense and poise isn't really necessary, so I guess it's fair just to take other stuff. I'd take it over chloranthy any day though
People underestimate how shit you can be at rolling and get away with it through defense. Personally I'm really shit at rolling, so I have a much easier time through the game by having armor so thick I mid roll with Havel's and FAP. Fast rolling just ain't for everyone, as optimal as it might be.
I still prefer strength builds because I like the playstyle, but dex builds allow you to attack way more often most of the time, which can definitely be fun, especially once you learn when those attack opportunities are.
@@solarpellets I actually first started Dark Souls with a dex character. And that's how I discovered that my playstyle is less smart and tactical, and more unga bunga Hulk Smash. Genuine question because of the FaP hate, what are you possibly considering should go in your ring slots in DS1? What builds are you making that can't appreciate HP, Equip Load, and Stamina? You mentioned this build would probably be better with Chloranthy but like, just put it in your other ring slot you have two. The only reasons I can see to not just have a permanent FaP ring on are a magic weapon build or RTSR. Are you even wearing a second ring in the video too? Like I see the FaP buff and I know you had rusted iron for the two areas it matters but it looks like you have Hornet or Hawk equipped later which are both useless under most circumstances for the weapon you're using, and I know it can't be Leo because you killed Ornstein first. I'm interested in where you're perceiving value from other rings because FaP is one of the only rings that provides consistent value for nearly any build at any point in a playthrough.
I'm not saying the FaP ring is bad, I'm just saying it's never the best. I didn't wear the chloranthy ring because I didn't want to go get it, the FaP ring was more convenient. I'd argue the silver serpent ring is better for all builds, for instance. And then, in an instance like the four kings where I need the crest on, too, I'd rather take off the less useful ring, and in most cases, that's the FaP ring. The wolf ring is extremely powerful, too, as another example. The FaP ring is not bad, it has its uses, it's just outshined by something a little less convenient in nearly every circumstance.
