So is pretty obvious that having the same range of power of the other cars on a car that is much lighter helps a lot. I would like that all this tests were made with manual transmission and in this particular case, using a BMW 5 series

The big surprise was the Audi. Big and heavy with AWD that notoriously understeers, yet it held its own pretty well! In the wet it would probably have won! The Toyota looked quite twitchy in the handling! :-o
The bmw e90 has 50/50 weight distribution, RWD, shorter wheelbase and over hangs than the other sedans. This is what gives it an advantage at the track.

It is a smaller car than the a6 and merc but not really the Toyota or nissan.however I think they were caring more about getting close to hp to weight.. the BMW 335i curb weight is around 3600 to 4050 lbs with 300 hp and 300 tq. Audi a6 weighs 3800 lbs to 4100 lbs with 300 hp 310 tq. 370gt or g37 in the states is 3560 lbs to 4110lbs with 330hp and 270 tq. The lexus/Toyota weighs 3435lbs to 3880 lbs with 306 hp and 277 tq. Finally the Mercedes e350 weighs 3585lbs to 3858lbs and has 268 hp and 258 tq.. this is the most outclassed car.
Owned 3 of these cars but had 4 of those engines. Aside from just driving skills or Luck, the 335i is hands down the quickest and best handling car. I owned the G37 coupe, 335i, an e350 and a Lexus is 350 (I am assuming it's the same motor in the Mark X).

The 335i heatsoaked badly should have won much more easily. The Audi has a supercharger so it didn't heat soak as much. The G37 is NA so it performed consistently. The GS350 and the E350 are simply underpowered.
This is more fun to watch than the F1 nowadays

To make it equal you have to switch that car ( the Audi equivalent was A4 and the Mercedes, the C Class and so on)

Also Audi a6 is 4 wheel drive its not FairPlay
They are all pretty close in weight if you look up their specs. E350 is the heaviest at 3792, but the 335i is OVER 3650lbs.
