- The Gap of Dunloe , is a narrow mountain pass running north-south in County Kerry, Ireland, that separates the MacGillycuddy's Reeks mountain range in the west, from the Purple Mountain Group range in the east. It is one of Kerry's most popular tourist destinations due to its scenery

@@dronehawk Hi DH, you'd be mad not to do the follow in South Kerry:
1. Portmagee and Bridge to Valentia Island.
2. Renard to Knightstown ferry.
3. Slate Quarry... Paris Opera House and British Parliament (Westminster) are both capped with Valentia Slate.
4. My favourite, the lighthouse below the Quarry. Cromwell and his folk, were there, done for many folk. Anyway, always been curious about Drones. Am interested in a beginner rig, any suggestions or directions? Ned. Dubliner living in Kerry for 21 years....
@@nedcollier1495 P.M me the location of that slate quarry , sounds very interesting . If on a budget , buy a second hand mavic mini , you should get one of these quite cheap. If you have the change , a mavic mini 2 is a great little starter drone - 470 in harvey normans. You will crash your first drone so best not to start with a really expensive model . If the bug gets you , you can always trade in and upgrade down the road . Not a difficult hobby to master with some practice and a little patience

5mils from shore out to the little skeillig. Could the Mavic 2 reach that from land ?
No , very doubtful. Best range I've ever gotten with the Mavic Air 2 / 2s was 3.5km and that was way out in the back and beyonds with no interference from Radio Tv or phone masts etc. Even if it could it would be a one way trip . Battery wouldn't last for 10 mile trip especially with the winds over water. Best bet would be to launch from a boat nearer to the island
Mavic 3 should do the trick.
