- Zontes ZT 125 G1 Review. Performance test included! Let’s have a look around this bike. Look at the specs. Then let’s take this motorcycle for a ride. Completed the performance test but how does this compare to other bikes? Big thanks as always to In2moto for letting me take this bike out. #motorbike #motovlog #motorcycle #moto #motor #cruiser #cruiserbike #cruising #125cc #nakedsports #learnerbike #learnermotorcycle #english #englishspeaking #englishspeaking #englishvocabulary #keeway #zontes #zt125c #zontescruiser #bestcruiser #petrol#automobile #bike #bikegloves #bikelife #gillybikes #usedbikebargain #usedmotorcycles #forsale #buy #buyused #buynew #review

I have one of these G1s Zontes on a 22 plate and with the test model only covering eight thousand miles I know that the engine is still very tight.
My G1 has done some twenty thousand miles from new and a lot looser these days and I would expect your performance test would see it easily obtain the sixty miles an hour at the left hand side tree. A lovely motorcycle with what I would describe as classic looks.
Sorry eight hundred miles…Ooops silly me.
I have one. It has been an absolute joy to own. It's taken me all over the lake district without missing a beat. The larger tank is a big plus. The lights are great during the darker months and it starts no problem throughout this winters colder days.
Great to see and thanks for sharing. It’s really helpful for anyone considering buying one. 👍
I currently have a 24 plate and have covered 1600miles 😊
Gotta say a cracking bike. Rides nice plenty of power for a 125cc.
Comfortable to ride over a long distance and wit a 20litre tank a very l9ng range 👍
Couldn't recommend enough 👌 cracking learner bike at a very good price 👍
what mileage have you gotten from a tank?
@Darlizzle I'd say 450 . I'm a big lad so I have to work it lol 😆 cracking bike tho will be sad to see it go. Got my test later this month 🤗
Thanks for sharing this. Always good to get the owner feedback. 👍
@GillyBikes no worries 👍
Yess the g1. Another zontes. uve ridden and reviewed its siblings. i been waiting for a newer video. Thanks!. Picking up my zontes u125 in 13 days!
Nice. Congrats on the new bike. 👍
@GillyBikes thanks. Can u do a perfo4mance test on the u125 ( the bendy corner ect) ik its the sam3 as the g1 but its 10kg lighter and seems more aero friendly. Thanks
If they have one in there I will give it a go.
@GillyBikes sweet. You legend. Thanks buddy!! Ride safe
Nicest looking 125 I've ever seen that well done zontes
I had one before I passed my test last year and loved it. Got many admiring comments from passers by who thought it was bigger than a 125. Also has a USB port fitted as standard which is useful.
The usb is a great addition. What bike did you get after you passed the test?
@@GillyBikes I have an NC750X now, Which I love, its great for a new rider. I found the ''bigger'' feel of a G1 was helpful when getting on and riding the bigger bikes.
A nice step up 👍
A lovely looking bike and it looks really well made . The stainless steel exhaust is a bonus too . If I had a dealership close to me , I would definitely buy a Zontes ; this particular model especially 👍
This and the cruiser version are my favourites out of all the Zontes bikes I’ve tried.
@@GillyBikes would you rather have the G1 or the cruiser? I'm going to sit on both next week.
@Darlizzle personally I would rather have the cruiser.
@@GillyBikes why if you don't mind me asking?
Hi, what about the GK...
Been surfing some bikes since I first started watching your reviews. It's 14 years since I sold my scoot and pondering what I'll get as a retirement gift. Initially I thought RE Or Benelli then thought that the cost effectiveness of a scoot or 125 started to take hold.
However, today I was browsing and came across an old flirtation of mine , the 1990s cb500. So I rechecked the specs. It's about 5kg heavier than this and 10KG+ lighter than an RE. With 57 BHP....no brainer really!
As a retirement gift to yourself you should get what you’ve always wanted. I will say though the RE 650’s are great bikes and whilst the MotoGB dealers still have some their prices are rock bottom. Some great deals on them at the moment. I would bet once they have sold out RE will put all of their prices straight up
The bikes very detailed and shiny ❤
I bought one of these at the end of last year, 41 miles only, so needed running in. The quality of parts of the bike are equal if not better than parts on my 2 BMWs, especially the switch gear. The brakes are excellent, however I had the adjust both the rear brake and gear lever. For me this feels like a far bigger bike, until you reach the limits of its power.
That is high praise indeed. Thanks for sharing your experience
Hi, i have a 125 bluroc (bullit) tracker. It is close to 15hp and should only weigh 110 kg. I still have to ride it in as it is new. These figures ask for a performance test on this bike that is designed in Belgium and is made in china. Did you or do you have one in stock?
Last time I was in there I think they did have a couple. I will ask if I can take one out 👍
I've looked at this and I've looked at the Soco wanderer pro 125 equivalent.
I'm shocked insurance for all electric is way more than a petrol 125cc
What would your choice be if given choice of Zonte or super soco please
The Zontes would be my choice. The smaller electric bikes are really restricted on power. Even the 125 equivalent bikes tend to be no faster than 45mph ish. And the range won’t be great either. I tend to use bikes for commutes in the nicer weather and days out with the lads in any weather. The electric bikes just don’t have the range or speed for me.
@GillyBikes
I am also seeing a lot of replacement parts going on in the Soco forums .
I love the zonte but I'm afraid of struggling with gear change
A sprocket change might help .
One thing with used motorcycles is the amount of vat should only be charged on the difference the dealer bought it for and sold it for ( ie his profit) so a used bike should be a lot cheaper as there is a larger amount of vat paid on a new one. I see the price some dealers are asking for 1-3 year old used bikes and a lot of them are taking the pee. I’ve seen a 3 year old Honda Monkey in a dealers at only £800 less than a new one which will have Honda’s warranty and not need an MOT for 3 years.
I agree with that. My guess is that is a win win for the dealers. I’ve been victim of this myself. You see the 3 year old bike and wonder why would you buy that when a new one is only £800 more. You then buy a new one. Dealer success. 🤔
I brought my G1 last year to learn on. Hopefully taking my full license this year. To be honest I think I will be keeping it after I have passed.
I don’t blame you. Even if you buy a bigger bike the 125’s are always good for the shorter journeys. Lots cheaper to run as well.
My son-in-law bought a benelli 125 from into moto and I rang them before he picked it up and asked them to fit heated grips has a surprise they said can't fit them to it because the battery wasn't powerful enough
? I’ve never heard of that. Oxford make them to fit bikes of all sizes. I will ask them when I’m back there. 🤔
Kept it red lining it in 4th way too long too. move it up the box when you hit 8k revs is how you ride a zontes
I take it to the point of nothing left then change. I will try this on the next Zontes though. Thanks for the tip.
@GillyBikes yeah they like ti be fired up through box nippy bikes love mine. Can't wait foe the better weather get up in dales
@richardbarrett8375 me too. This cold 🥶 is doing my head in now.
I had my gas siphoned when working remote in AK long push .
Oh no. What a nightmare. How long was the push?
Gilly next time on a zontes instead of riding it in 5th all time put it into 6th they love steady cruising in 6th. And I'm 6.3 and my zontes z2 can do 80 downhill and easy does 65/70 on flat no probs done 5k miles and not had a problem
I went into 6th on the straight. I got slated on here for changing gears to early on the performance test. I’m trying to keep all of those people happy 😂. That’s a good down hill speed. Thanks for sharing your experience especially the no issues bit. So many people that have never owned these are very quick to say how unreliable they will be.
