    Another great review. I absolutely love my REL 98 classic that pairs absolutely well with my JBL L100 75th. That warm rich sound is due to the paper pulp cone of both the REL and JBL. A match made in heaven. Love the red color of that T9X though.

      That sounds very slow.

    • @markc8773
      @markc8773 8 месяцев назад +1

      It's not slow by any means. It's still very dynamic due to the control of the class D amplification. It just has a slightly warmer tone due to the paper pulp cone.

    I love your description of SQ, best I have heard. I currently use 2 T7X's in my 16x22x9 room paired with a pair of Magnepan 3.7i's. Prior to this I had a pair of SVS SB3000's. WOW, what a difference! One would think with a larger woofer and more powerful amp that the SVS would sound superior. Quite the opposite when it comes to SQ, which to me is all important. I had room for the T9's but didn't want to spend that much if not necessary. My dealer recommended to the T7's and I am totally pleased. Thanks for all of the great reviews. One quick question, if I may. I am seriously considering a pair of KEF R3 Metas as an ADDITION to my system and not replacing the Maggies. I assume you feel the REL's are a good match? Thanks again!

    • @NemoPropaganda
      @NemoPropaganda  8 месяцев назад +2

      Hey Tim, yeah SVS is great but it's an SPL sub which isn't really designed for nuance detail and handeling of delicate passages. It's more the sledgehammer. Yes the R3 Meta should match well with just about anything. In my experience KEF speakers seem to pair well with either style of subwoofer.

    I built my own sub this year. Box is 3.5' x 1.5' x 1.5' with opposed dual 10" Parts Express high excursion subwoofer drivers and a vintage plate amp. I integrated it into my bi-amped MTM - dual 15" woofer per channel system just as John Hunter described.

      Dual opposed is great for subwoofers, my DIY sub has dual opposed 12 inch Scan Speak discovery drivers on a Hypex FA501 plate amp.
      The dsp on the Hypex is nice to use the sub is tuned at 22hz+-3db, the SVS SB2000 has 23hz+-3db in REW.
      Intern its the same as a Sigberg 10D subwoofer with bigger drivers, but it looks like the Arendal 1723 2S.

    Wonderful review as always. Sometimes one gets confused as to which one is best given that there's no such thing. However, I'd like to ask you a question: if you were ever to sell off all your subwoofers but ratain just one to serve for music and movies, which would you choose from (REL, Rhythmik, RSL, JL AUDIO, SVS)??

      I don't generally answer "if you had to" type questions and I don't really care for bass in movies too much. I'm happy to help you make a decision on what's right for you but I don't believe my personal taste would be helpful to you in any way. It's as you said, there is no overall best. There has to be a at least 2-3 metrics for context, like the RSL 12S is the best large vented subwoofer under $1k, that's 3 metrics, size, design, price. That still doesn't mean anything however unless you're in the market for a large vented sub under $1k.

    Love what you’re doing with this channel. Awesome reviews, content and coverage on REL! Been subscribed for a while now and all vids are on point 👍🏻.
    I have a question around sub recommendations. ‘what sub would you suggest for a room 24ft x 18ft and ceilings 8ft, but listening/tv area is split off in room, with approx. measurements being 13ft x 18ft same ceiling height. I will be running with S400 mk2. 😀 and probably only 1 sub to start!
    Was thinking T7x, T9x or maybe 1003 mk2. Split around 60/40 music and movie?
    Thanks

    • @NemoPropaganda
      @NemoPropaganda  6 месяцев назад +1

      it depends how loud you want your bass when watching movies. All of those subs have enough output for music at reasonable volumes but movies are much more demanding. I think it would be a good idea for you to reach out to REL and see waht their opinion is but for what its worth the S400 MK2 pairs well with all of those subs. I think most people would enjoy dual 1003 MK2 in that kind of setup but a single T9X would also be awesome, just less headroom for movies versus the pair of 1003 MK2. T7x is only an 8" so for movies a single one may not satisfy you the way a single T9x or 1003 MK2 will.

      Just looking for some deeper bass but with a SQ sub! REL is a lot easier to source in UK over Rythmik. I’m going demo a KC62 as well as saw your review on this and it looks very stylish 😀. Thanks for the review, really helpful, I’m looking to add another Rel sub to my existing Rel Serie S2 which is no longer available but I think this is the closest thing, I have tried to contact Rel uk for advice but they don’t seem interested in talking which is disappointing, I have also considered the T7x and the HT1205 mk2, I mainly watch movies but 20% music from Focal iWLCR6 backed up by the current Rel, it just isn’t quite enough Bass with the current single sub unless I push the sub to the point where I can hear it which means I’m pushing it too hard, do you think I’m looking in the right direction adding a T9x? The room is around 5mts squared

    • @raisivity
      @raisivity 8 месяцев назад

      Maybe I don’t know what I am doing then because I am indeed cross shopping these two. I am looking for absolute best accuracy, speed, over total output. On the other hand it is important for me to have two subs for room looks.
      I haven’t been able to audition the rythmik. I also use this setup to watch movies so it doesn’t hurt if the sub can extend lower for the occasional explosion or movie effect. However, that is NOT my main goal with the sub.
      In my case, space is not that critical as I have a dedicated room.
      Size of the woofer/cabinet aside, what can you say about the accuracy of sound quality of these.

      @@raisivity oh damn, I think you should hop in my free discord, post up a pic of the room and mention your goals. From there we can help point you in the right direction. @@jagjitjosan2755 I'll share now, I'm not greedy with information lol, they are 2 completely different subwoofers. I consider the KF92 one of the best compact LFE subs, if you're mostly watching movies and need a compact sub that's going to get super low, WOW! The KF92 is a champion. The S510 is a little bigger overall and still extends very low of course but it's more something that will fit in with a super high end 2ch system, the S510 is designed for LFE primarily so it can still do theater no problem but it's fidelity is really a big step up from the KF92 and you'll hear transients in the lower frequencies you never knew were there! S510 is much more high end overall but ultimately I feel each sub is for a different kind of customer.

      @NemoPropaganda  8 месяцев назад +1

      that's a room issue for sure, sounds like as bass output increases your room issues are becoming more obvious, try experimenting with placement. The SB3000 generally likes to play louder and closer to it's maximum capability so I'm surprised your issues are occuring at the louder volumes but that's also what makes me think it's a room issue.

      @@howardmims8376 hard to say, placement might fix your issue, maybe DSP will help, maybe a smaller sub will sound better. I had similar issues with my sb3000, it's a lot of sub and not really a great fit in smaller rooms unless you're willing to dsp everything. The SB3000 likes to play at full tilt, my favorites svs sub is actually the SB1000 Pro, I was able to get that dialed in my room way better!
