Just a note that yes, I tested placement all over the room. Corners. Back wall. Front wall. By each speaker and center. The perfect blend and output was achieved right where you see it here. Subs do not always sound best in a corner. I have crossover to around 10 o’clock and volume at around 5 ticks up from zero. The result is bass that seamlessly blends with the main speakers as if they have become more extended themselves. Can be subtle or shake the room., just where it sits. Very impressive compact sub and while I have a 510, I prefer this one for my space in regards to size, looks and ease of setup. Also sound. This one can kick, very fast.
When they did the T/9i red edition, they had carbon sleeves for the feet. I think the red looks great, but for myself, I'd rather have carbon sleeves, or better yet just black with a grey crown, over the chrome. It would've been nice to have another option because I'm considering a pair of these. I'm glad you reviewed this subwoofer.
Super looking sub! The red really pops! Recently received an S/510 and will try out the suggested tracks! Thanks. Keep up the multiple camera angles. It works! 👍
I have a pair of REL-T5i's (squared off cabinets) I had them setup with the Outlaw Audio RR2160 integrated, this amplifier is known to have a very competitive mid-range price to performance ratio. What makes this combo impressive in my experience is the built in bass L+R output management of the RR2160. I wish REL made a passive subwoofer with a superb quality passive crossover and superb qaulity speaker binding post! The ideal being transforming any passive 2-way speaker into a passive 3-way speaker with all that REL know how focused on the driver, cabinet, crossover. I don't want the REL amplifier section, the LED, the power cord!
Well I've actually replaced my T9I red edition, with a Rel S/812 in black, now that is truly a work of art so much faster than the T9i and has so much room presence physically and goes so low when connected via high level l still have my T9i red edition plus the HT1510,l just wish Rel would make this paint colour available in all its subwoofers Ps my room is 13ft x 10ft 😆
I am buying it and it’s going to reside right where you see it here. Already told John I want to purchase. It’s the right choice for the room vs the 510s, one of which I still have.
I’m sure this is an excellent component. The entire time I watched this review, I thought of the colour. Red in high gloss. My mind went straight to the Musician Knight 1 speakers. This would pop in triple red. Have you reviewed these China built speakers? The reviews I’ve watched have been very positive.
I have the previous T9i Red edition. it's a beautiful sub,The T9I red edition has carbon fibre feet but no internal upgrades over the standard T9,l also have a rel HT1510 predator in the same room,my room is smaller than your own
Wish you would have teamed the REL up with the recently reviewed Ogy speaks from Poland. It may have revealed it’s performance when crossing over much higher relative to the David Hertz
I am planning to get T/7x for my Musical Fidelity E20./E30 pre/power using low level connect. What is needed to link L+R RCAs from the preamp to a single RCA on the subwoofer. Thank you.
Made in Wales in the UK. £1550 in the UK. $1650 in the US. So £1323 in the US. How can a British product cost more in the UK than in the US? Another case of rip-off Britain?
Sure you could. Two subs are not needed. There are improvements with dual subs but one can do the job almost as well. Bass is not directional though finding the best placement is key. It should work under a desk but may not be the ideal location for it.
Tried it in the corners (both) - off to one side of each speaker and center as you see it. Blends best right where you see it and can’t even tell bass is coming from the box. It’s a remarkable sub and yes, sounds perfect right where it is. Blends better where you see it than in either corner.
@tms372 no. Only heard ryrhmik at someone's home. I'm very familiar with REL since I've owned RELs for a few years. Only subs I compared back to back in my listening space were REL and SVS.
@@BrianGarside - I have a T/Zero paired with a pair of ELAC Uni-Fi speakers, for a desktop setup, and it's pure heaven. Highly recommended. Though, honestly, the ELAC Uni-Fi's get down surprisingly low for such little speakers.

I have the T7/× using high pass and it is stunning! Love REL❤ Customer service superb! Great company.
Couldn't agree more!

Really enjoyed the commercial.
Love the Red Color. Makes we want to find the stick shift!
Does have that racing red vibe!

Thanks for watching!
Those RELS are just beautiful.

Started out with t5X now have two T7/X’s in similarly sized room and that pair w the kantas no 1 blend nicely 😊
Fantastic! Thanks for sharing your experience.

I definitely want to upgrade my Paradigm to a REL. I’m looking out for a t7
Are you going to keep it?
The right question

@@HiFiHuff it looks amazing. I love the red finish.

How do the 1510 and T9i red compare? I have a 1510 now but never heard a T series sub.
Hi John, you mentioned you’ve listened to many subs. Have you listened to the Paradigm XR series and if so how would you compare to the REL’s
Wish you would have teamed the REL up with the recently reviewed Ogy speaks from Poland. It may have revealed it’s performance when crossing over much higher relative to the David Hertz
It's too bad there is no sound samples, i mean how is a review complete without letting us hear it?
Thanks
Great info, thanks.

Audioquest FLX-X or RCA Splitter will work for you, but if it’s for music why not use the high level (speaker) connection?
How does it compare to you’re open baffle sub?
Where did you set the crossover?
More details are in my written review. I settled with the dial around 10oclock for the crossover.
is there a way to connect SpeakOn cable to RCA?
Here is another track that is pure joy with a sub: Kate Havnevik - New Day
Thank you for this! Amazing song!
Wow you can say it’s better from the original

Three little words -- value -- added -- tax
Fairly certain they are made in China.
i just bought a pair of ATC SCM 7's and thinking about one of these. could i put under the desk?
You can do with an SVS pair, but always buy two subs.

Looks great and 1st.
That's the worst placement for a single sub in any room. You need to break the symmetricity to the side walls (and to the main speakers).

Definitely shoulda got 2!
Ps the T9X is very overpriced at £1575 when a S/510 can be gotten for a few hundred ££ more
😍😍
to much light, oversaturated
I think you'd be even more impressed with Rythmik Audio.
really how so?
lol
I tried a Rhythmik vs a similar category REL and the REL smoked the Rhythmik :-) Maybe you lucked out with your system's configuration :-)
Have you demoed these 2 subs back to back ?
@tms372 no. Only heard ryrhmik at someone's home. I'm very familiar with REL since I've owned RELs for a few years. Only subs I compared back to back in my listening space were REL and SVS.
i wonder how this sub would do in a desktop setup lmfao
I think the T/ Zero would be perfect for that.

For my desktop set-up, I bought a guitar amp stand that now, tilts the speaker at my belly/lower chest.

It’s too bad it’s red, though.
Oh please. That t9x isnt doing anything in that room
Of course it is and why would you think it isn’t? I’m listening right now and it’s rather amazing what it’s doing in this room. So, you are incorrect.
