I’m def impressed w/ all the effort you put into learning Japanese and w/ the finished product. Pretty amazing you speak/think like a Japanese when you speak in Japanese. You can totally market your method of learning because it certainly worked! 日本の人達が英語を習得する上でもヒントになることがこの動画がにはたくさんあると思う。かなり感動しました!
Conversely, I’m learning English from this channel. Your English is so clear and easy to understand. It’s helps me a lot. Thank you so much. I love your videos! I’m a Japanese btw 🇯🇵
I saw you on Takashiis RUclips channel and wanted to say how I admire your persistence in learning japanese for seven years, from writing blogs, to posting on twitter and using apps. I made a promise to myself in 2015 when I was a high schooler, that I wanted to speak fluent japanese one day, but it was never a priority. Your video boosted my confidence in being able to self learn. 頑張って!
I'm an old guy who's a beginner at learning Japanese. Even at my early stage I realise that I wouldn't have made any real progress if I hadn't learned Kana (Hiragana and Katakana) when I first started out. Luckily, the concept of syllabaries was familiar, as I was taught some Hindi by Indian friends many years ago. Hiragana and Katakana work in a kind of similar way to the Devanagari and Gurmukhi scripts used in Hindi and Punjabi so they didn't scare me. Kanji, on the other hand, was a bit of a shock to the system! At first I thought it was basically impossible to learn that many characters, but now I'm just reaching the stage where learning Kanji is getting to be fun. Although I do use paid apps, sites and books, IMO RUclips is one of the best language learning resources.
What are your tips for speaking fluently? I can read, write and understand Japanese at an intermediate level, but I still struggle with speaking. I’ve been told my pronunciation is good (as in, my partner can understand me) but my pitch accent is off, so they know I’m a “foreigner.” TIA! 💖
I totally agree there’s little pronunciation differences that can give away that we’re foreigners 😂 My advice is to watch a Japanese drama/movie/RUclipsr and copy word for word what they say, keeping in mind their intonation/pronunciation. I still do this now when my pitch accent is off and it does the trick!
Recently I started learning English very hard, most strenuous in my life. I want to attend a foreign university after current one in Japan if I can get a full ride scholarship.
IMO, no worries if Hiragana and Katakana take you longer than say other people who claim they learned the Kana alphabets in like a day or two. I'm currently on my third try in my life to learn Japanese, and just like Ananya, it's taking me 1-2 months to master the alphabets... but guess what, I can read and write in the alphabets so... 頑張って下さい!
Hi! When did you practice speaking Japanese in conversation? It’s hard for me 😭 and I’ve heard that it’s bad to speak if you are making mistakes and I wonder what you think of that
Lang-8 has suspended new sign ups. It pushes you to sign up with HiNative instead :-/. I have used HiNative, and its fine, but you can't did blog posts, only specific questions.
I recommend flashcards 100% for memorizing vocabulary! For grammar, I just suggest making a lot of sentences on your own using the specific grammar and looking out for when people use them!
I try to implement it into my day so it's hard to put a number to how many hours I studied, but if I was just starting out, just 1-2 hours a day is fine in my opinion. What matters more is that you keep continuing! I studied a couple hours everyday, along with listening and watching Japanese media.
1. Basics: Hiragana & Katakana (0:57)
2. Input & Output (2:49)
3. Listening (7:20)
4. Writing (11:50)
5. Reading (12:31)
Thank you!

The Kana I found hardest to nail were the ソ ン シ and ツ Katakana characters. They still trip me up occasionally.

Aww thank you! Best of luck with your Japanese studies :)

日本語上手すぎる。
英語の学び直しをはじめたので参考になりました。ありがとうございます!
You are my role model. I could relate to a lot of things you've done.
日本語勉強の良いアドバスRUclipsだと思います。英語を学ぶ立場からも、共感出来る内容です。貴方は非常に賢い方です。言語習得に限らず、文化やものの見方や考え方の違いについて、発信して頂きたいと思います。
Thank you for all the tips! You're the best 😁

Yeah honestly it can take longer than a month for sureee. If you’re doing it right, in order to really master them it should take longer

Probably 1-2 years into studying! Find a language partner who will not judge your mistakes and corrects them!

Really! I’m surprised to hear that, what a shame it was really a great service..
@@hiananyaa yeah, I was legit excited to have sometime look over my writing for free then....denied. Maybe it'll open up at some point.
jdzspace33 have you tried Hellotalk? You can get in touch with natives who will correct your blog posts!!

Been studying for 2 years. Know about 1100, Kanji but I still get stuck on the damn katakana at times.
Omfg pls some tips for memorizing kanji
