Thanks for the respect you show to your diverse subscriber/viewer base with your explanation of the options. “Dad spec” fits perfectly for the quieter option and would be my choice. Just thinking “Dad spec” could describe a WRX STI Limited with wing delete…
It's a really great system to cater to different buyers needs! I left it at the loudest setting for now, but if I ever felt like I needed more quiet down the road, it's so easy to change out! And the wing on the STI to me looks great, but it does look good without it too!
It's actually been very quiet! Even on the loudest setup, it's not very loud! Coming from my other exhaust, I had to listen to hear this one lol, but it has a nice tone to it!
We purchased one of these systems for our 05-15 Tacoma. Magnaflow makes it so it will fit ALL models with the 4.0L V6. We have a Tacoma with a 2.7L I-4. The only difference is the flange that connects the system to the factory connection. No biggie I had the factory flange changed. Our 2.7L Taco is supercharged w/ new to be released Magnuson Supercharger & equal length header. Sadly with the Supercharged 2.7L & header this system makes Women & Children run for their life’s at anything over 35 to 4k RPM’s. I’ve added another muffler 5x8x14 in front but it’s making Women & Children run! But it doesn’t drone!
You need the Borla Mid-Pipe on Extreme Terrain. It reroutes it so it’s not hanging down under your transmission or tranfer case or whatever that is I only got a glimpse and mine is a 2.7 so I don’t have that problem
Oh cool! Yeah that would be a great addition to this exhaust for a bit more clearance! I’ve honestly never hit that spot so not a huge need to upgrade yet.
I dig this, albeit a little kludgy lookin' under the truck. Definitely better sound than the MBRP, but the MBRP was built for more HP, if possible. I have a TRD Pro exhaust on my 2018 OR that I just cut off *after* the bend down / axle area. The sound got a *little* louder, but waaaaay better looking with the CBI high clearance rear.
Okay, I am a little confused. I went to Magnaflow's website and called Magnaflow customer service and both say that the overland series DOES NOT fit a 2020 Tacoma TRD OR? But if you look at "vehicle fitment" on Magnaflow's website it says it fits the 2020 TRD OR? Then if you enter that vehicle information into the website to check fitment it says it does not fit? I have a 2020 Tacoma TRD OR which obviously is a quad cab with 5' bed, I am assuming your truck is the same dimensions, did you have to do any modifications not shown in the video to make this fit? Thanks!
That’s so weird! You are the second comment we have seen with that issue! I’m not sure why it says that but a 2020 should be exactly like my 17! We carry the AFE style exhaust you might be interested in if you want to check that one out. brosfourrspeed.com/parts-%26-merchandise/ols/products/awe-0fg-catback-exhaust-with-bashguard
I never did any decibel tests with a gauge or anything. I don't have any drone even with the "loudest" setting. I still have it that way and it's quiet! No drone going 70 mph!
Is this ca compliant and will it mess with the 02 sensor? I had one on my 99 pre runner and was loud and I loved it. I need one for my 2021 TRD off-road
What is the tire and wheel combination size of your spare tire? That pipe seemed very close to the spare tire. Hope the hot exhaust doesn't melt your tire.
The final setup I left it on I just had the end cap on the back side of the muffler! So I didn't use the resonator pipe (the extra cylinder). All of them don't really have a drone! So while I'm on the loudest setting, it really doesn't drone even on the highway!
I'd say this might be slightly quieter. I had the AFE exhaust on this a few years ago. But that one's tip is what smashed my bumper off roading. So I like the high clearance of this and this has less drone
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I also smashed the tip on my AFE exhaust 😂 I currently have a TRD but it's too quiet. This one looks to be a winner but damn is it expensive.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed just put on 285s, im rubbing inner rok block mudflaps at articulation and full turn. Do you think a 1.5" wheel spacer would help that ?? Get me off that edge a bit ?
I haven't had the stock exhaust for a while now, but here's a comparison with stock vs the AFE system I had! ruclips.net/video/_4P-JHN5HXM/видео.html It's kind of close to stock, but is louder!
Technically a cat-back exhaust can't void any warranty, it's just piping. Unless a mechanic can diagnose an exhaust did something to mess up a vehicle, which it wouldn't, there's not reason to worry. If you started doing new headers and all that, possibly, but a normal cat-back is fine.
New exhaust sounds good. Being able to change the drone part is awesome. For some it will not bother them but for others the drone can drive you nuts. Challenge for you; Since you have the Pedal Commander now and see how it functions for you, find a Tuner in your area and get the KD Max tune and take off the PC to see which you think is better for Auto Tacoma’s. No one has done that yet that I know of on You Tube so it will be a first to compare them. You can go back to stock easily and I bet you can find a Tuner that will work with you video wise too. Just a suggestion for a very informative video.
Even with the loudest setup I haven't noticed any drone! Maybe it's because I was used to a louder system! But it's nice to be able to quickly change that! That could be a good idea! I haven't really looked into tuning the truck, after re-gearing it, it drives so smooth, but I have heard some good things about the tunes.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed ya it definitely sounds bette on video than the second one you had. On video your first one sounded the best to me. I’m trying to figure out which one I’m gonna put on my 2022 TRD OR.
@@devos3212 The AFE and this magnaflow are very similar! Same with the Borla and TRD system! The magna is the only one with the different parts the change the sound, not a huge difference but it’ll tone it down some!
Compared to stock or with the different adjustments? It's about $800 and I love it! Best system I've had on the truck so far not only for the clearance, but sounds great! I'd recommend it!
@@billocampo1365 Not a huge difference sound wise but you can eliminate some drone going to the quietest setting. I could tell that difference. Even on the loudest setting I left it at, it’s pretty quiet on the highway but still has a good tone!

So it has a Helmholtz chamber? That mounting is janky AF, I guess if you only do arid climate offroading you'll be fine, just don't get it anywhere near the Midwest.
It mounts the same as any other exhaust system would so not sure what you mean by that. I would be able to offroad anywhere and the midwest winter would effect it maybe, but it's stainless steel so it would be able to hold up to those conditions.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I believe he is referring to the mounting of the NDT as its only supported by the piping itself and could sag or break off due to corrosion over time, add in off-roading vibrations and its even worse. They should add a support bracket on the muffler body to support the NDT with a clamp. Edit, I know its Stainless Steel but the grade used in exhausts isn't that great and the constant heat cycling will lead to rust over time.
This is the best video I’ve been able to find on the Magnaflow system. 👍
Glad it helped!
We’re very good friends with the whole Magnaflow company. They’re awesome guys! They’ll be working on my Tacoma Trd pro in a few weeks.
