I’ve been living alone since I was 14 (not that long ago, I’m about to turn 16 in a few weeks). I moved out because of this great school I got in, and the city in which I live now is about two hours from my hometown. It can be hard sometimes; we are kids, so we get bored, lost, lonely and well, having to figure some stuff out all by ourselves kind of sucks. But, eventually, things settle and you get used to this new life, which is filled with possibility, learning and sure, fun at times. Anyway, I wish you the best, hope it all works out for you and for anyone who reads this comment really (english is my second language, so please excuse any grammatical or orthographic mistakes ok :))) )
I've pretty much lived on my own since age 15 as well, and in a foreign country as well. So I've had a combination of culture shock and adjusting to independent living, initially as an exchange student from Sweden to the US, now as a university student at age 17. It gets lonely sometimes but I spend a lot of time at my boyfriend's house (especially on weekends), and he set aside a room I can use to study peacefully (a storage room that was originally a bedroom). I grew up quite affluent, we didn't talk about money, it just was, and so learning how to do things as well as living in an apartment that's not much bigger than my bedroom was (and it is admittedly a fairly big apartment with several rooms) was another adjustment for me. There's an American Christmas movie (also popular in Europe) called Home Alone that makes living independently as a child seem so much easier and more fun than it really is (even if it deconstructs the trope with Kevin missing his family after a few days). I understand, however, that I'm privileged to have money and not have to work (for now, anyway) and that those who have to work have that additional challenge, but there has been a lot to adjust to. One thing not often talked about is that waking up after a nightmare at night and not being able to comfort myself with the thoughts that my parents are right there if I needed them has made it so that those nights I'm usually awake for the rest of the night. Also, I have mental health challenges like a sleep disorder causing me to have non-24 hour circadian rhythms and I'm 99% sure I have a mild form of autism, my family and friends suspect so as well, although I remain undiagnosed, that's added additional challenges. One thing I really like is that I've wanted to learn to create and compose music, even though I have very little experience with it (I played piano as a child but I doubt I could compose anything very good), and now I can without worrying about my little brother bothering me or turning up his music to annoy me when I'm listening to my own music (I still miss him a lot, though, as well as my parents, and always love the time spent with them during holidays and summer) or my parents needing me for something mid-recording. Should I attempt to compose a song, even if it's not very good? I like classical music, video game music, and other similar genres. Also, I can play video games in the middle of the night if I want (as long as the volume remains down). I'm not one to yell at or shout harsh obscenities when I do poorly at a video game (the worst I might ever say is "jävla helvete!" quietly to myself). Wow, I had a lot to say. Thank you for making this video, and I hope that I wasn't too verbose with my comment.
Thank you for sharing your life with me. It’s a great comfort to know their are people out there with similar experiences. I hope you pursue music or at least play around with it. I love music and I think it really heals.
@@addyslivingalone7620 I'd love to figure out what kind of music to play. I have a small keyboard I bought but the first challenge for me is to talk myself into not placing high expectations on what I create. I'm thinking of making something based on Czerny's no. 1 of his "practice pieces" (which are well-written enough in their own right to double as basic recital pieces). Or perhaps playing around with a MIDI making program.
I turned 16 this January I love watching living alone videos....and youtube just recommend you I really love it keep going girl ...love you and I watch Mia pham too💕💕✨
