Recorded live at the All Within My Hands Foundation Helping Hands Concert & Auction at The Masonic in San Francisco, CA on November 3, 2018 and featuring Avi Vinocur on mandolin & background vocals, David Phillips on pedal-steel, Henry Salvia on keyboards, and Cody Rhodes on percussion.
The event raised $1.3 million which will be used to work with our partners at Feeding America and the American Association of Community Colleges as All Within My Hands continues to tackle the issues of hunger and workforce education and work to create sustainable communities.

James's vocals from 4:28 to 4:46 is the one of the reasons Metallica is my favorite band. So much quality.

All Within My Hands is a very dark and personal song for me, it ties into the lowest point of my life so far. Infact the whole St. Anger album for me holds a deep place in my psyche. Each song has its own meaning to what I went through. The anger, control and rawness of the original All Within My Hands was what I connected with, but this, man, this just hits my soul. To me this version gives off the 'faced down my devil and won but at a huge cost' vibe. It is so insidious and dark but those last lines Hetfield sings (beautifully by the way) make me feel like the demon died and you just buried him but a piece of him lives within you forever like it or not, embrace it or repel it.

Well there is Acoustic Metal, an underground album they did in 96-97 its actually pretty good. They play their hits but it's not a original album

@@tieukhavu8832 yeah its just a recording of an acoustic concert they did on a radio station in 1997. Half of the songs are from that concert and half are from around the same time at different concerts. That's what I've found about it anyway

Most of the tracks on St. Anger have the potential to be great, they just didnt turn out that way. This is a great example of making a shit song really solid.

Agreed. Makes me even more convinced that St. Anger could've been a great album. The songwriting was (mostly) strong but the production and arrangements weighed it down.

now that i have matured alittle more, this makes so much sense to me now. i couldn't let go of someone very special to me and it almost destroyed my relationship with that person. i had a severe anxiety attack and alienated that person to a point that she questioned what was wrong with me. letting go of something or someone can mean the world, even if it's terrifying and the person is near and dear to you

I actually like the original better, because it really encapsulated the pain and frustration that Metallica was feeling at the time.
