I like the exterior and towing capacity. Interior is truck (Tundra) like and not a lot of room. I am not sure the hybrid side was a good idea considering the real-life MPG. If you need a lot more room, go with American brands.
not all Toyotas are good there are lots of models that were a complete disaster, most recent my 17 lexus NX200t had an engine rebuilt at 49k miles bought new always pampered at Beverly Hills Lexus dealer
Hilarious that the journalist who said it was disappointing compared it to GM, Ford & Jeep 😂😂😂. All three of those brands are junk when you get past the warranty!! The one advantage that the Toyota has over those three is the fact that it will be in the repair shop a whole lot less!!!
Toyota's in a bad way right now - coasting on their faultless reputation. They've apathetically phoned in the new Tundra, Sequoia, and next gen Tacoma. No innovation from this engineering giant...just lowest common denominator products with cheap materials and questionable build quality. As a customer, I'm not asking them to change the laws of physics, but *truly* innovative naturally aspirated drive trains, carved-from-solid-metal build quality, and forward thinking materials are not out of reach for Toyota. They can do better. I just traded my 2003 Tundra (a nearly legendary vehicle for Toyota) in on a different brand truck :(
I traded a new Wagoneer for the new Sequoia. The sequoia is less expensive compared to the Wag, its also less expensive than a new Tahoe or Escalade. The Toyota quality is there in this Sequoia. I absolutely love it and can see it being a 10 year vehicle for my family. The only thing I wish it had is a little more advanced auto driving. Towing, cameras, seating overall comfort is outstanding.
@@chipryan Chip, I’d easily take the Sequoia over any of the vehicles you mentioned…but as a life long Toyota guy, I can tell you they’re coasting right now. Innovation, reliability, material quality, build quality all down from previous Gen products. That said, it’s still a way better vehicle than anything from the big 3. Enjoy it…you’ll certainly get 10+ good years out of it.
I think Toyota totally f-ck'd up! The only thing I like about this car is it's exterior looks and that it's a hybrid but even that is disappointing!! DON'T BUY THIS AWFUL TRUCK OR YOU'LL BE SORRY!!
All new cars have so many buttons, for this and for that.. I know I'm not alone in saying that it's just more to go wrong. It's only my opinion but it is what I feel.. Technology prevails, and so does the repair cost when something goes out.
so lets imagine I wanted to drive this $90k SUV as its "intended" my family of 6, Los Angeles 'hey kids we're going to the snow" okay everyone happy panoramic roof cool, you fit the kids everyone on their sit, 2, 2 and 2 (1 stroller + bags) where will their stuff fit? the stroller hardly fits in the back sideways, this SUV was designed for a small family of 5 max and occasional visit drop offs that's it. which in that case any small suv will do the trick no need for this useless monster suv
If this isn't a disappointment, then I don't know what is. I can get a Yukon XL or Suburban with the Diesel engine and have significantly better mpg as well as usable cargo and 3rd-row seating while doing everything the Toyota Sequoia can do all for the same price point.

My only disappointment about it is the power train, price, and that the rear seats do not fold flat into the floor.
