You two make the best travel guides I have found on the internet! Thanks for making my trip to Glacier so great and so easy to plan. I am planning a trip to Yosemite right now. My level of disappointment when I saw that you have not made a Yosemite guide speaks volumes about your work! Other guides just are not as thorough. Thank you both for your hard work!
Thanks so much! We are so glad we could help you with your Glacier trip. Maybe someday we will have a Yosemite Guide. We would love it if you would be willing to leave a review on our website: wereintherockies.com/glacier-national-park-packages/. Thanks in advance.
I drive the Ol Red buses! I love your informative videos! I’ll be back driving and giving tours next summer for sure. This time out of the west side. Did you mention fire season and how it can be very smokey?? Many Glacier area for Grizzlies? Black bears and Moose . Next summer swift current hotel and campgrounds will be closed as well. FYI….Only Many Glacier guests and employees will be allowed up there. Maybe they will push the construction project back but right now that’s what I heard .Have a great day! Oh yes… maybe mention how bumpy and dusty the area of Many glacier road is! Definitely don’t want to drive an RV or even a motorcycle down those approximate 5 mile stretch!
Ive binge watched every video on Glacier, Yellowstone and Grand Teton. I cant thank you enough! Going for 2 weeks to all 3 in mid august and you have made planning so much easier. Never stop posting, absolutely love your channel and love you both!!!
Hi guys! I just want to thank you for all the helpful content you put out. We traveled to Yellowstone and Teton last year and purchased your guides and now we are planning Glacier this summer and I’m binge watching all your videos! I was telling my sister how happy I was to hear your voices again! It’s like you traveled with us last year on our family trip and now will be guiding us again this summer! You two are amazing, thanks for everything!! ❤

I’ve lived in Utah all but 4 years of my life. Traveled over 1 million miles on plane. I am LOVING your Chanel. I’m learning hidden gems of the parks that I didn’t know of before.
Hey Matt, Cheryl, & We’re in the Rockies team! I’m heading into Glacier National Park today. I’ve been on my annual Ultimate Mid-West Road-trip for a few weeks now. I started from my home in South Carolina with my toy hauler & motorcycle in tow. My first stop was Moab, Utah. I spent a few days exploring Arches & Canyonlands National Parks as well as the surrounding area. We had rain almost every day so I decided to make an unplanned day trip to Mesa Verde National Park in nearby Colorado. Next, I spent 4 days in Grand Teton National Park, 6 days in Yellowstone, and now Glacier National Park. Next I will head to Medora North Dakota to spend a few days at Theodore Roosevelt National Park, then cap the trip off at my absolute favorite National Park, Badlands National Park in South Dakota!!! I’ll be there for about a week and will make day trips to Mount Rushmore and Devil’s Tower. I used your guides last year and again for this trip. One request I have is if you could incorporate some motorcycle specific information (even as quick side notes) for great rides like Bear Tooth Highway/ Chief Joseph Memorial Highway from Yellowstone, Going to the Sun Road in Glacier, etc. I know you mention some of these roads in your guides, but I think these are some of America’s “Must Experience Roads” if you ride a motorcycle.
Great suggestion and thanks so much for all the support. We're so glad we've been able to be a part of your trips. We'd love it if you'd leave a review or two on our website. You will need to click on the location you bought a guide for and scroll to the very bottom to leave a review. Thanks in advance.
I love you guys! I watched your videos when I planned our south west road trip amd ended up buying your guides WHILE I WAS THERE because even with all the prep I still needed to refer to things. I've done myself a favour and bought all of your guides in a bundle. Love playing the audio guides to our kids on the drive, love having your tips and itineraries, makes me feel so much more confident going in.
we'd love it if you'd leave a review on our website. You'll need to select the guide you purchased and scroll to the bottom where you will find a box to leave your review. wereintherockies.com/store/
Was going to recommend that you guys do a Canadian Rockies book. Seems you're one step ahead of me, haha. The drive up 93 from Whitefish to Banff (the Kootenay Highway) is spectacular and surprisingly quick, for people looking to combine Glacier NP with Banff and so on.
Looks like I’m first to your video. Lucky me!! I am about half way through and really enjoying it. Looks like I better start over with a notepad, as you suggested. Thanks for all the great info!
You guys are superb... how beautifully explained the whole trip... we recently did yellowstone with our kids, and your videos were very much helpful for us... appreciate. Thank you..!!!
Glad I found you here! My wife and I travel with NIvia, her Sister, who has CP and confined to a wheelchair. Finding places that we can tour that provide access is no easy feat. I wish more touring video folks would think about adding that info to their videos! We are off to South Dakota this summer, then hoping to see: Grand Teton Yellow Stone Glacier Maybe Grand Canyon Thanks again
Belated Happy 20th!!! That great. I knew there was something different about you two, yall remember us older people. THANK YOU!! I know you both work, but maybe someday yall could be tour directors! I'm so glad I found yall.
Again, a great helpful video. Great tips. I’ll check out all your videos. And, I’m definitely going to get some bear spray when i go there. And i will go there, what a beautiful scenery.
Regarding the Red Bus Tours: When you are assigned to a seat, are you required to stay in that same seat for the whole tour? Thank you for all of your very useful information!!
My wife and I just enjoyed watching this video. Thank you for so much great information! I am wondering if you have found that any of the rooms in the GNP lodging options have refrigerators and microwaves. My wife has diet restrictions that restaurants, especially in rugged areas, cannot accommodate.
@@WereintheRockies Thanks for the quick reply! We're flying from Chicago, so a cooler and ice packs are not a workable option. Some of the park lodging has refrigerators in the rooms, but they start at $350 (+ fees and taxes). We didn't want to spend nearly that much. We're looking at AirBnBs outside the park in the vicinity of $230 (total). Pretty hard to find, but at least we'd get a kitchen. If we can get the lodging to work out, we will buy your itinerary and are planning 6 or 7 nights with either a day trip or overnight in Waterton.
Great video! So much info! We are going to Banff first early June and driving to Glacier mid June. Can we enter the park in Canada & drive down to the east entrance? Or is that a in & back out entrance? I see there is a border crossing in that part…
What time do you guys consider “early”? We have two kids and can get them up at anytime. Just want to make sure if we’re camping (that’s the plan) in the park should we be leaving at 5am? 6am? Earlier?
Where are you guys from? I live in Montana. We’ve lived here for 25 years. My happy place is Glacier National Park. My favorite is Many Glacier. It is very difficult to get it now. We’ve actually given up.
From what I see going to the sun road is the main road so if that is closed you’re pretty limited in what you can do. I’m going in late June and there is a good chance we’ll be stuck exploring the southwestern lake McDonald area with going to the sun road closed. We’ll keep our everything crossed for an early open though.
It all depends on how quickly the snow melts. Some hikes and areas will be open while others may not be. If the Going to the Sun road is closed, you can still get from West Glacier to East Glacier but you have to go around the long way. It is approx a 2 hour drive.
Our Travato van is 21 ft. but with bicycle carrier on the back for the bicycles makes total 23.5 ft. Does that disqualify us from the road to the sun road in Glacier National Park?
I believe you would be disqualified. The rules state that your vehicle can be no longer than 21 feet (including bumpers). See the official webpage: www.nps.gov/glac/planyourvisit/gtsrinfo.htm
When you guys say the park is still open after 3pm when reservations are no longer needed, where does this apply to? For example, am i able to drive on going to the sun road without a reservation after 3pm?
looking for opinions on going to visit glacier last two weeks of May? I am very new to researching and my boyfriend and I are thinking about going the end of May to beat the crowds a bit, but concerned with road closures/trail closures due to cold weather. does anyone have an opinion on if this is a bad time to go or not? thanks in advance
It is probably a bit early to go. I would imagine there would still be snow on the trails and it's very possible the Going to the Sun Road won't be open yet.
Amazing !!!but let me ask, how true we’re not allowed to post pictures and videos taken at Glacier National park on social media unless we’ve got to buy a license that cost almost 300 dollars??
There are campgrounds that will accommodate motorhomes but there are size restrictions. Most motorhomes are not allowed on the Going to the Sun Road though.
Haha, yes we know there are other places that are more west, but the "west" is a term used to describe everything west of the Great Plains. Thanks for watching.

Wow! Thank you so much. Have a great time.
Wow this video is solid gold for anyone visiting glacier. Thanks guys!

Just letting you know, there are people that enjoy 1960s architecture.

You're very welcome!

Have fun!
The very northerly Hwy 2 takes you in and through the park all the way to Columbia Falls on the west side.
Planning our trip and this was very helpful. Thank you!
So glad! Have a great trip.
Regarding the Red Bus Tours: When you are assigned to a seat, are you required to stay in that same seat for the whole tour?
Thank you for all of your very useful information!!
I believe the bus seats are not assigned.
I’ve been watching you guys for Yellowstone, but now I want to go to Glacier NP too 😂 Thank you 🫶
There are so many beautiful areas in the world! Happy travels.
Love all your videos!! How do you prepare for hiking longer hikes? Have a multi-day trip to Glacier this year with long hikes planned.
Lots of walking ahead of time. Also, if you can go to a gym and walk on a treadmill at an incline it helps as well. Good luck!
I’m interested in visiting in July 2024
. We hope to stay with 4 people and we love to hike. We live in California so will fly and rent a car.
You could have added that Waterton Park is in Canada, you do cross the border. You need a Canadian park pass, or entry fee.

oh man! Glad you were safe.
Thanks!
Thank you again for the donation. Have a great trip!

We are from Utah. We love Many Glacier too!
Utah is gorgeous. My son and family just vacationed there.
We also love picnics. But I'm worried about the bears.
People picnic all the time without incident. Keep your bear spray handy, make some noise, and you should be fine.
Thanks for the info. Besides the Road to the Sun, in June is rest of the park accessible?

Is it going to be a big problem for a trip to Glacier in late June? I saw lots of smoke coming from recent Canadian fires... Thank you.
Same..
It could definitely be smokey, which could affect some of your views of the mountains. I hope the fires are contained by then.
So there aren’t any places to stay in a Class A motorhome?
There are campgrounds that will accommodate motorhomes but there are size restrictions. Most motorhomes are not allowed on the Going to the Sun Road though.
