We have 4 nights at Gros Ventre and 3 at Madison Campground traveling with our 20’ camp trailer. I’ve been watching YT videos since we started planning in 2019 and so thankful I ran across yours…the BEST of the BEST! I’ll be purchasing your guide and audio tour and love that we can have that resource with us; especially knowing that there’s no cell service in most of the parks. Great vid. Super helpful. I'm kinda doing the reverse of what you said is normal. I'm hitting the Tetons for 5 days (backcountry hiking) and have a spare day where I was considering driving up to Yellowstone. That said, if you had one spare day to spend (as the rest of my time will be in the backcountry) would you spend it at the Tetons doing other cool things or would drive up to Yellowstone and hit something cool, and if so what do you recommend? Thanks in advance!

      Oh wow, I’m hoping to do what you’re doing someday soon. With one spare day, you can drive around the entire lower loop in Yellowstone and see the Grand Canyon and old faithful. Pretty amazing if you’ve never seen them. But you can’t go wrong in Teton either.

    We're getting to GTNP on 9/6 and staying for a few days until 9/11. The Jenny Lake shuttle's hours this time of year are 10-4. We wanted to hike the Cascade Canyon Trail, also checking out Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point on the way. But we definitely don't want to start that late (10am). Do you recommend just hiking the two miles to that trailhead and then hoping to catch the shuttle on the way back?

    I’m planning way ahead, and we have booked a cabin near Yellowstone for the next fall to try to avoid crowds, although I keep watching videos where it seems best option is staying close to grand Teton and do Yellowstone in a day or two. In your experience do you consider that is a best option. We going for ten days.

    • @WereintheRockies
      @WereintheRockies  2 года назад

      I’m not sure I understand your question exactly, but if you have ten days I would spend 6-7 in Yellowstone and 3-4 in Teton. I would try to stay in three different places. One for northern Yellowstone, like gardener. One for southern Yellowstone, like west Yellowstone. And one for grand Teton, like Jackson, Teton Village, or driggs.
      We do sell guides for both parks that will break it all down for you.

    We just came back home to PA (😭). We were in GTNP from May 4th thru the 11th. I think we've ruined ourselves of EVER finding a better location! The entire week was unbelievable. So many gorgeous sites and the wildlife was spectacular. Many days we were in the park by sunrise. We experienced all four seasons in one day, quite a few days we were there LOL. We visited Jenny Lake and loved it even on a snowy windy wet day. We stayed in Jackson Hole. We would load up with snacks at Albertson's (love that store!) Then set out in our rental car for full days adventures. I think the ONLY bear we didn't see was 399!! LOL. We expected to see nothing and enjoy everything and I believe that's what made our adventure even better. I absolutely cannot wait to return. I steer clear of crowds and with the only exception of the Yellowstone south entrance not being open it was soooo worth our dates we chose. We drove 2 hours to go in the west entrance and again...we were so happy we did! Thanks for your videos you guys do a great job!

I was just wondering: we are using Cody as a base from where we visit Yellowstone for a few days (we don't mind the drive and are on a limitted budget so staying in the park is not an option). And I was thinking to leave our hotel early in the morning on the last day, and drive thru the Southern exit of Yellowstone into the northern entrance of Grand Teton on our way to Dubois which we will use as a base from where to properly visit Grand Teton the next day. Do you think this is possible? Or is the drive about 20 hours considering the speedlimits in the parks haha

      For the most part, dogs aren’t allowed on hikes. I would highly recommend leaving the dog at home or in a kennel near the park because you’ll be very limited.
      Paddle boarding is really only a thing on string lake. You can canoe on Jenny Lake and Jackson Lake. You can swim anywhere, but most common spots are string and Jackson

    Hi Rockies!!!!! Important Question: We are currently in Tetons and headed up to Yellowstone in 2 days. Then flying home on the 14th.
    I’ve used your guidance and guides to set up itineraries and they’ve been absolutely perfect. We need your help and expertise with best routes from Teton to Yellowstone and then finally from Yellowstone down to Salk Lake City for our flight to Fl. Our 5 hour ride from Sat lake to Tetons was through a treacherous stretch of road that we would like to avoid. We came up 15 which was great but them as we approach TETONS we were on 10% grade with warning signs and sharp turns, just nerve racking. Any other roads like this on way to Yellowstone? What about leaving Yellowstone down to Salt lake?

    • @WereintheRockies
      @WereintheRockies  3 года назад +1

      The drive into Yellowstone is very smooth. Yellowstone’s roads are also fine - only scary road is going out the east entrance which you won’t do. To leave Yellowstone, Drive straight out of west Yellowstone and it’s a smooth ride all the way to SLC. That road meets up with I15. Nothing scary. Lol
