Our standard Magnetic head requires the steel pad to be placed on the back of your device. It is not the same as MagSafe but we do offer MagSafe head options if you visit our site.
How do you route the wire for the mag safe option is it just sticking out in the open? Any installation video or pretty much the same just different head unit?

Is there meant to be a large gap between the dash and the head unit?
Make sure to push the bracket all the way to the dash pad before tightening it down.
