Thanks I've been wanting to this, great video you've made my mind up to do this
You're welcome mate
Cheers bro great video as always
Appreciate it mate!
Great video, really gave a detailed information. Really loved the park where you comparisoned the salaries.
Cheers mate glad it helped!
Im on a little bit less than this but im still fresh to the industry, can't wait to earn the big bucks!
It's all about working your way up mate, you will get there eventually 😉
Great video sam!
Cheers bro!
Totally agree on the first 2 years gaining experience being the hardest. Yes you have to be realistic and understand you won't be on top dollar right away but if you find a good agency you won't be skint either. If on agency be keen with clients, they'll ask for back by name. The work/life balance is important too. It's no good having £60k just to pay a divorce lawyer and child support when your Mrs has had enough. Plus as much as I'm addicted to trucks I'm the first to say you need time away from it to chill out and be yourself.
Thats it mate, work life balance to me is soo important in tgis hame and it can be hard to come by.
I love the job adverts that say £53,000 OTE then later in the ad it says the hourly rate is £13.50.
Haha yeah madness isn't it 😅
interesting. Can be region specific. I've seen class 1 at £11.50ph recently !!. Not sure there'll be many takers though.
Thats what they try to get the people that are desperate to just get in a truck and get experience
If u get a good agency or adhoc contract that gets u lot of work as a new pass i was on £600-£800 a week my min rate for work for on class 2 jobs was £14 an hour (agency rates) I wont work for less than that on class 2. By the way let u know i got my pratical booked and test dates for class 1 next month theres a bit of a waiting time with dvla for the test dates about a month so not long now....
Thats brilliant mate 👏
How long are you looking at for the test date? And let me know how you get on! Best of luck 👍
@@truckitprayle 15/03/2024 test date not long now one interesting thing about this Govt Bootcamp i doing at the place where im doing the Bootcamp for HGV is run by Mod staff where they train all there HGV Drivers for the army......
Thats pretty cool, well good luck with it and let us know when you pass!
The funny bit about “if you are a single then do tramper because there’s a money” but then lucky if can get a tramper job which doesn’t extend beyond Friday. Just Monday to Friday will be perfect for a single person and from Friday evening until Sunday morning to go out and grind for a decent chick who understands my commitment to driving.
😂😂😂
Yeah thats one way too look at it i guess, although im definitely past that stage in my life haha
Can't wait to pass in Feb
Good luck fella let me know how you get on!
@@truckitprayle i will pal be seeing you on the road
Also when you see a job advertised by an agency, there's no job. It's just bait to get people registered.
Yeah thats true sometimes i guess
whats the difference between class 1 jobs and class 2? is the work/pay very different?
Class 1 bigger distances bigger truck bigger pay, class 2 smaller truck, smaller distance, smaller pay.
I am looking at a career change currently been doing security for 6yrs i am 25yrs old and looking to do my automatic driving test as everything is automatic these days.
I also live in Thurrock been living in Grays for 25yrs.
I have seen a few hgv driving trainee jobs are they worth it as they pay for everything for you as its very expensive
It is definitely worth it long teem mate, you might have to sacrifice for a year before you can earn the big bucks.
@@truckitprayle Thats true what you've stated as money is not great to begin with but...if I look at it as I am being paid to train, my course, test and pcv is all paid for which is like £6,000 or more then its a smart choice as after like you have stated in a few of your videos that I've stumbled across after 2yrs I'll go from 25k - 30k to earning the above average wage and be on 3.5k a month.
Is Maritime a good company as always get those at DP World?
Depends if you don't mind being over taken by everyone haha
There lorrys are restricted to 52mph..
@@truckitprayle Thats alright makes for a comfortable journey. And makes no difference no real time difference between 50 - 70
Worked just under 53 hours last week, nights. Grossed £1,078.
Aint many jobs without a degree where you can earn that right?
I’m currently on target to hit over 50k this year…4 on 4 off…3 nights away then 5 nights home
Thats a nice little number you got there then! Nice one.
50k for 4on4off thats great
Here in Germany 30-40k gross.
Euros?
@@truckitprayle yes
Seems low, im guessing the cost of living must be a little less i guess
@@truckitprayle Yeah because lots of Ukrainians work bellow minimum wage they made the market worse
Nice video m8 however, earnings as an hgv class 1 60k+ is just an fairytale on the web. In the real time, you'll never ever get this money and that's a fact. You'll be always somewhere between 28-33k annually and as a trumper round 40k max. The companies now days don't want to pay a decent wages as an hgv so don't bother. If ya work in any foreign chain supermarket as a stock loader, you'll earn even more. I get my C-E license, spend fortune and after 6 years of trucking stuck on 30k. On the Internet, there's plenty of trucking job offers with, but you'll hardly get someoneto reply. Now I working steady as a forklift operator with 42k. No hassle, weekends always home, plenty of family time. Sorry, just saying to others.
Thats fair enough mate, i think it really does depend on where in the country you are i have had several jobs down this way 40k+ and would be alot more if tramping.
It's definitely got harder since they had a big push to get more people into the industry and now the competition is higher for jobs.
the big money comes with hours worked.. you are doing almost twice the amount of hours as a normal job
Correct more hours more taxes no over time :)
All you need is a pulse and Turners Transport will take you.Wages Maritime Transport ( i couldn't work for them) is a good bellwether what the game pays.Agencys talk bxxlloxx
You pointed the wrong way, aim for top right corner 😂😂
It showed up there eventually haha
Sold me a dream 70 k a year
Experience is key? How about you learn to park straight on a bay!
Ok mate 👌
Thanks for your wisdom.
