    Good video. I have one comment on the physics explanation. By practice we all now that when you let go of wing pressure the board will rise. But the reason is not that you minimize the wings downward force because the wing does not actually have any. The wing is driving you in 3 directions sideways/forward/up. If you manage to sail with the wing totally vertical you will get 0 up lift force. So why does the board rise? It is the Torque created by the forward force that when fully powered up tries to bring your nose down. Well, it does have no real impact of the way you ride, but it might be a fun fact to actually know.

      I do find when I’m fully powered up on a speed run I can pivot the wing (think back hand higher than front hand) which adds weight through my feet. Not sure if this checks out or it’s just a feeling but if you were to draw a vector perpendicular to the leading edge of the wing it would have a vertical component pointing down that would be reacted to the board through my feet. Again hard to explain without a free body diagram but might be what led to the board rising after releasing the wing thought

    Great video. I picked up a 105cm mast too recently. I just tried it once, but it was very difficult for me. I used to ride a 85cm until now. Everything feels much more laggy and unstable on the 105cm. The maneuvers were much more difficult also. I barely made a jibe. It kinda feels like the board wants to stop turning in the middle of the jibe. Do you maybe have any tips on riding a longer mast like this??

      The longer mast is definitely a different experience at the start. I remember my first few sessions feeling super tall above the water and unstable, especially through gybes and speed runs downwind. The biggest tip for it is learning to find your “safe” angles of roll. It’s natural at the start to want to ride the board level on the roll axis but for stability it really helps to have an angle of lean to kind of lock the board in. Difficult feeling to explain but with speed and a bit of roll my board feels really locked in. After that you will learn to roll the board through transitions and not spend a lot of time with it level in the roll axis.
      Aside from that, you really just need time riding it to gain muscle memory of how it flexes. At 105, it doesn’t really matter how stiff they build it, it will have some amount of flex and the trick is just learning what that feels like through turns and building the muscle memory to predict and tame the flex.
