@@joekmodels what did you think of their choice of paint colors? For the top I went with a lot darker than they suggested. Mine ended up about the same color as yours.
Lovely build Joe! Couple of nice tricks there too. Liked the way you used the extruded sprue to fill the nose seam... not seen that before but will giving it a try! Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks Andy 👍 Always trying new things out when I can. I really liked how it takes away any ghost seams you might typically get if you were to just sand over regular filler. Certainly something worth experimenting with. I've also been having good success with sprue goo on my more recent projects which is kind of a progression from this what I did in this video. Appreciate you checking out the video!
Really appreciate that Xavier. As I learn about the subject, I try to pay it the respect it deserves even though it will never be perfect. Thanks for the kind words man.
@@joekmodels I was surprised by the different colors you used below. I have never taken into consideration for example to use others in addition to the white. This has resulted into a new pattern once the base color has been put on top. May I ask you the ratio you thinned those tones?
@@MrMarcocamp I had them pretty thin to control how much I was putting down. I would say maybe about 70-90% thinner. The more paint you have the higher the opacity, so I try to go light and go over parts I want to show up more with more passes. Also, when you put your main color down, you want to be putting it down thin so you don't cover up everything too. You can never go too thin imo but def too thick. As far as colors go, there is probably a lot of color theory here, but I try and use complimentary colors and study photographs. If you look really close you can see hints of greens/browns sometimes and this might be done using a filter also. Adding the brown before the white on the bottom would give a "dirter/dull" appearance simulating many mudding landings or fluid stains over time. Hope that helps. If you look up Doogs models on YT, he has a whole video series on the subject of black basing you might want to check out. ruclips.net/video/rcplKK9TIxE/видео.html
@@joekmodels thanks again! I'm just working on a P70 in all black (being a radar equipped night fighter) where all these tips can come useful. Thanks again

@@joekmodels you did a really good job on you wildcat! I have several really anxious to try your methods! Thanks 4 the reply...i didnt mean that as a criticism. Have a great weekend and the best to you! A fellow modler.
I believe I mixed 5 parts xf18 and 4 parts xf2 to get the as19 spray can equivalent for Tamiya. You can also buy the Vallejo air war color set for the US Pacific, which should have those colors included premixed.
Might not be very positive feedback but what happened. Such a shame, the content is great. Image quality is very low, Must be possible to prevent that fromhappening again.
Really nice build. Love the final result and the weathering. 👍👍🇨🇦
Thanks 👍 I had some video editing issues, but I tried a lot of things on this one. Thank you so much for watching Bob!

Good blue
Thank you so much!
you must have super vision to see parts that small
I loved the build and love the music, who is the music artist or group name?????? i could model to this all day :)
It's called Heaven and Hell - Jeremy Blake Thank you so much for checking it out!
Do I need primer before I paint? Great build btw😊👍
You don’t have to have primer but it does help with checking cleanup and doing pressing techniques.
Where can I get the us blue gray paint?

I have this very kit, and its not finished yet , because I just got the back half of the engine that was missing.
I enjoyed this kit and I think you will be very pleased with it once completed!
why no lightening holes opened? if you go that far in otherwise detailing the plane, go a l l the way :)
The landing gear assembly is really a hassle. I wouldn't get any awards the way I just have it jammed up there.
Why is the music so dramatic
I agree it’s a little over the top, someone else edited the video and that’s what I got 🤷♂️
What’s with al, the lines in the image. Especially when quick action happens. Unwatchable.
Thank you for the feedback!

Music too intense!!!
Thank you for the feedback!
The music is rather sorrowful, sad and burdensome than dramatic.Music for sleeping...
