    Yes JT... no one wants to be caught with their pants down. Kudos to you for checking the oil level before starting it!

    I owned a 2014 one of these for 7 years. Loved it! Only issues were the wearing out of the left side vent actuator a couple times. Luckily the dealer had a talented and skinny tech who could do them well. That was a great van! If I could afford it, I'd have another.

      How many miles did you get out of the 2014 Promaster? What was your maintenance schedule for oil changes, transmission drain & filter, and coolant changes? Also, did you drive with a heavy load or relatively light payload? Do you think your driving style is light and careful, or more hammer down? Collecting information on what van to buy. Thanks!

    Did you notice the oil all the way up on the hose clip for the remote reservoir hoses? how did it get that high, unless it was spraying in the upward direction? I definitely understand about the trans having most of the oil, but a foot up to the hose clamp area? I didn't see any signs of it spaying upward on the hood, did you? Good luck, sir.

    I have noticed on some promaster intake bolts water collection around the heads of the intake bolts. They have rotted to the point there is little to grab ahold to. A few have required drilling. Only on the promaster, no other applications.

    • @sydecarnutz972
      @sydecarnutz972 Год назад +1

      The Promaster has a terrible rain intrusion issue under the hood. Very poorly sealed by design!

    • @PandaMan02
      @PandaMan02 Год назад

      its caused by the split separating the left and right side of the windshield cowl, there is pretty much nothing actually sealing water out by it. the water drain tube is kind of a decorative piece.

    • @antigroundhogday
      @antigroundhogday 2 месяца назад

      Kip from Promasters Only YT channel hasa solution by covering the bolts with caps. Other people have done DIY solutions where they divert the water away from the cowl. GL!

    At THIS point, the adapter housing should be under mass recall and repaired, for free. Subaru had a 5 year Electric E-Brake recall, now? Unlimited miles & 15 years 😵 due to the massive amount of failures.

    • @LynxStarAuto
      @LynxStarAuto Год назад +1

      The difference is brakes are considered a safety item. But an oil filter housing leak is not. Recalls only ever happen if the failure could cause you to lose control, prevent the vehicle from driving or stopping, or make the vehicle a fire hazard.
      An oil filter housing is covered under warranty (if it's applicable) and address via a service bulletin.

      @jasonpocaro2730 Год назад

      @@LynxStarAuto well let's see.. ok, you get an oil change and the kid "screws on the filter housing" a little bit more than necessary. You spring a HUGE oil leak, on top of your engine, and you don't know it. The transmission starts to pool the oil on top of it, then, the catalytic converter is so hot, the vehicle has started on fire. Not a safety thing huh? Get you head out of your ass. This does all 3 you mentioned about and more. Drips massive amounts of oil on the highway and streets. Vehicle engine (s) seizure, no start from lack of oil and tons of warranty claims. I have replaced thousands of dollars in these, on a case by case basis. Some, the engine is fried, others have burned to the ground on the highway and in parking lot (s) with other vehicles going up in flames within a spot or two... Oh no, not a "worthy" recall. Not until your vehicle is damaged by something else like this, your put out of a $8k engine job or you get in a wreck. Then it's, oh shit, we gotta do something!!!!

      Never buy a 2014 to 2021... You'll be constantly changing the transmission. The 2022 gets the new transmission BUT the 2023 gets the cosmetic upgrades so go with the 2023 because you'll pay almost the same as the 2022 that nobody wants now...

      Much less enjoyable to live in a truck, although some do it. I wouldn't say the Promaster is shit. It has some aggravating flaws but mine has done pretty well, at about 104000 now
