  • After replacing the blend door actuator last year, I lost heat in the van. After finally digging in, I found it was a very simple fix. Hoping this spares others the same trouble if needing to replace the blend door actuator.

How did you "pop" off the cover? How many screws are there for the cover? I found one Philips head with green paint on it but I was afraid to tug at the cover. I just want to unplug the actuator. I'll set it in AC mode for the summer and worry about heat in the winter. I'm in AZ (Scottsdale) too.

Please please please if you have any advice on how the heck to reach the actuator in order to replace it
I feel like no matter how I contort I cannot get to those screws
My mini Phillips cannot even fit up there
I’m getting a sign that my engine is on reduced efficiency mode and after doing some looking around, it seems like the bad actuator could be responsible

I cant even get the first cover off. Removed single screw but still doesn't want to release.

I remember it being an absolute pain in the ass to get in there. I slid the seat back as far as I could. I may have went in backwards so I could lay upside down to get to it.
Somewhere I saw that you could remove your seat to make it easier. It’d be a pain but maybe worth it. Just read up about your airbag wiring first!
