My late father and I had a similar experience in our Bonanza when landing at a Dyess AFB airshow decades ago. We were instructed to fly a holding pattern, and then a C-5 Galaxy flew by us to land. We then followed it to land, obviously far behind. After we landed and turned off the runway we were instructed to hold short of the taxiway while it taxied by in front of us.
