Nice job. Enjoy watching. Helps with 6 pack scan. Suggest adding commentary on power settings. Your videos are a great demonstration of BPPP PAC. Talking the viewer through the process might help other pilots watching to learn PAC. THANKS!
Good job!
Hello MR. Johnson, your videos brought back some of my favorite flying memories. I got many hours in your Bonanza N572TM during the time it was based in central Florida. At the time I was both the line service manager and flight instructor for American Aviation inc in Brooksville Fl. I flew it before and after the avionics upgrade. It was purchased to do the Avionics upgrade and for resale as it was purchased not long after American opened our avionics shop. It was later purchased by a student of mine after he received his private license. I did his Bonanza training and started his instrument training. It was really good to see her still out there in the world.
Looks like an IndyCar track... ;-)

Very nice. My hometown so awesome to see.
I love KBKL, it’s a shame the city is constantly trying to get rid of her for lakefront property ala Chicago
Love it. Local. Sub!
Nice flight, very scenic, too bad you didn’t have the shadow in the shot! Some of my windiest landings have been up there. Rock on!
I enjoyed the Cart indy car races there back in the day.
Are most of your flights business or just boring holes in the sky?
Definitely a mix of business and pleasure - this one was just for fun!
Looks a little bumpy but a great landing. This is my home field. You flew over my boat at 5:15.
When I started flying, having been an MSFS weenie since the 80s, I wanted to make a pilgrimage to Meigs. Daly shut Meigs down before I could get there so we did Burke instead. Great little airport. Hopefully the anti-airport types won't shut this field down and it can remain forever.
Nicely done. Can’t wait to experience my first time flying to minimums and breaking out.
It is one of my favorite things - always amazing to see the runway where it is supposed to be
Slightly shallower angle of approach compared to the Shuttles LOL.
Lower airspeed as well...
Boy do I miss flying ILS Approaches in my 172 back in the 80s. No better feeling of accomplishment than descending down on the needles through the muck to minimums at a never been there before airport. Lost my medical years ago. Your video made me happy. Thanks.
I flew into Norwood for 46 years. Landed on 17 hundreds of times. Once you get below the tree line it smooths out. Looks like you’re flying an A36. I owned one in the 80s. More recently a G36. Great airplanes!!!
What’s with the glove lol lol lol
Prevents hand slipping 👍
Awesome job! I was curious why they'd land you on 24 if the winds were 060. or is that the only RNAV available?
The winds shifted early in the approach; they gave me the option to switch - but it was light enough I chose to stay with it
@@Eric.Johnson ah ok yes that makes sense!
good job
Do you remember what the ATIS was for the approach? Thanx.
I do not - but I do think it had the ceiling about right
Ahhh, flying the Bo with Eric.
Nice
Awesome job!
Wow, I didn’t want to go missed and I wasn’t even the PIC 😂. Ground contact for so long but had me wondering about the missed and alternate.
What happened to the Archer in front on him # 1 to land ?
I think that's the Warrior visible on roll-out and followed into the ramp
Could have been Awesome but I'd lean toward "Boston"
Boston
Definitely brings back memories...I was a student pilot when Norwood Air was there. Cessnas were in the stable: 24Mike and 82Uniform.
What year? Trying to remember the name of the place I took lessons from. A guy named Peter ran it but got forced out by a Delta pilot opening a competitor. I lost all my money on account. Good memories though.
Nicely done
Good coordination of aileron and rudder up high. Try feet only. If we concentrate on exact target between legs or exact hash heading, the wing is continuously levelled. On short final walking the rudder pedals with fixed aileron will really mitigate the wing drop from gusts. If we dynamically and proactively nail/bracket the centerline, we are already moving when the gust gods strike and cause a bit of adverse yaw should we use the steering wheel. Good job.
I like OWD. I have my F33A at BED.
You should come out to Kansas and practice TGs...yesterday we had 56 mph gusts and in the summer it's not unusual to have 30 to 40 mph gusts 75% of the time.🤣🤣🤣🤣 I was on final at 3AU in a 150 with a 30 mph wind but it was straight down the runway and I could power off and hang like a kite.😊
I have flown to South Dakota several times - windy every time so far...
Butta!
Thanks for this!
Great video!
Very nice IMC landing 🛬
Very nice! Thanks for sharing.
Very nice landing and yes, it was definitely gusty.
Thank you for the flight...brings back fond memories when I was able to fly.
Same here.
I was like wow these MSFS 24 graphics looking good 😂
I live in the next town over and have been to Taso's many times, but never been on this side of the fence.
Very well made (and flown) video here! I will be subscribing.
I had to rewind this video several times because I was a little confused. Did tower really have traffic left and right for the same runway? 😮 (He said you were following a warrior that was on “Left” base. I’m not surprised you couldn’t ever see him since you weren’t following him. You were “Right” downwind and looks pretty hazy in the video)
That's correct: traffic on left and right downwind. It's definitely possible at towered airports.
@ possible yes, smart no!
@@GravitiesNemesis you must not fly or watch many youtube flight videos... it happens ALL the time at busier towered airports with traffic coming from many directions... you just curl em in left and right.. not a problem at all.
@@pesto12601 Where I'm based, tower puts the students doing TNGs on the left DW and arriving traffic on right DW. Makes sense especially when you're coming in from the opposite side.
Cool
great approach. mediocre preflight/weather planning.
I have been out aviation for about 12 years and I have a question, what is everybody using on their tablets to file flight plans, figure WB,airport directories, all the stuff to go from point A to point B? I had a ASA flight computer and filled out legs of my trips on paper before and I bet all that not done much anymore
Tablets are really great for flight planning and charts - a real improvement over paper in many ways. It does effectively require a backup, though.
Very nice approach!
Most of these aviation vids are clickbait bull-💩...not this one; very fine work: you made a difficult approach look easy. Tip o my cap.
Awesome approach, great flying.
i mean it look like you routinely do this, seemed like you had it down perfect
