In first stage, (which uses the EXACT SAME sound file) Ryouske specifically mentions his turbocharger. "What about his instant throttle response?" In fourth stage, during the Kyoko battle, Ryouske specifically mentions how the idea that turbos are laggy is obsolete.

Initial D and Wangan Midnight were done by the same studio, with some cars using ‘shared assets’. The S30Z actually uses the sound from Ikeda’s 350Z from Initial D.

Where this supercharger nonsense came from? It's clearly turbocharged sound with obviously distinguishable mechanical turbo noise. Initial D translation is messy and at that point is completely incorrect, FC NEVER had a supercharger!
