- Keandre Kelley a.k.a K2 is a young drummer from Florida. He's played for several artists, including Tye Tribbet, Chandler Moore and more. In this video, he has to learn a song that he has never heard before. The objective is to listen to it a few times, figure out parts, sequences, solos etc, all this while listening to a drum less track. So he can have all the freedom to come up with his own drum parts. After he listens, he plays it to the best of his ability and listens to the original song afterwards to see what the drummer on the track did different. Hope you enjoy!
THIS IDEA WAS INSPIRED BY DRUMEO, IN WHOM WE LOOK UP TO!

What songs would you like to see on here? & Who would you like to see on here as well?
Rage Against The Machine - Bulls On Parade. The song sounds simple but the drums are doing some really fun things that will catch someone off guard when they hear it vs what they played. (also, Drumeo did this song but i feel the drummer was lying about not hearing it prior)
What I’ve done - linkin park
Slayer - south of heaven
"Mad At Myself" - Issues
or
Borders - "The Sunshine Underground"
Dance of eternity by dream theater
So you're telling me now we all need to hire gospel drummers for our punk bands?
Dude that was so sick
Gospel guys have the capability to play with the power a punk/rock drummer is required to play but they have an advantage of having more vocabulary in the types of grooves/fills they can do. A lot of punk guys just play to their tendencies and can’t really go beyond just playing with power and speed. That’s why the best drummers now Matt Gartska, Luke Holland, and ii learned some gospel chops and took inspiration from that style of playing to make their grooves sound livelier than a typical band in their genre.
Gospel drummers are the goats. My mates 12 year old son plays in their church band and he shids on most grown men. Amazing to see
Look up Eric Moore and Thundercat playing with Suicidal Tendencies back in the early 2010's
Drummers like guitarist, bassist...and all such benefit from looking to other styles.
and if you hire a punk drummer to play punk music its even better.........
having them play it again after actually hearing it, man that's a step up I didn't think I'd want so bad. Keep doing that!!!
Was thinking the same, plus that also takes it a step different from Drumeo so it's not just the exact same format but only using lesser known gospel drummers in comparison to the drummers that Drumeo's able to bring in. It's a welcome change.
It was so cool seeing K2 play after he heard the original, want to see that happen more times, it's a nice feature for your show
Same!
yeah definitly give them a second chance to do well its lovely
Agreed... really like the format of the show
Yeah drumeo never does this let them hear it one time and then give it another take I would love that
Definitely
The most amazing thing is that he enjoyed the song and the drumming so much, he asked to play the song again just for the hell of it. Amazing artist!
I respect how you guys took the feedback from the last “hearing for the first time” video and actually applied it. Content is looking great I’m subscribing for sure!
reallly,, i subbed on this one.
I did the same.
after he heard the original drum, he immediately had the desire to play again. the 2nd time he really did his best.
Would be so cool to see the opposite! A rock drummer attempting gospel.
This dude did a great job on the track. I didn’t mind the halftime chorus at all 👏🏼
That would be awesome
Great idea!
That half time was a great touch!
ngl id be terrified to try and play gospel lol
🙌 YESSS this!!!
That tuning key held on for dear life lol
Please bring him back for another one!!!!! Actually bring him back for many many more 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 love his skills but damn, that energy and enthusiasm !!!!!!!!
This guy needs his own channel doing this
15:25 Yoooo, this fill caught me off guard. That footwork is on point! As a new drummer, I love this series so much! Y’all are shedding some light on all the talented gospel drummers out there - I had NO IDEA gospel drumming was so dope!! ❤
Damn, without even hearing the drums he basically got the Kick right through almost the whole song. K2 is on another level.
Just proving how universal music is. It doesn’t matter the genre, the style, the color, music transcends all of that and good music can be enjoyed and appreciated. Thoroughly enjoyed this and love to see real musicians work their craft. Keep it up
Damn, Keandre's version is so much doper than the original's, and I grew up on that track! He really added so much more variety to the song, and his drumming chops are insane!
Yes i think also
He fell into the same trap a lot of the Drumeo folk do where they overthink a line that's very straightforward
@@DerekWrites but then it wouldn't be any fun. I thought most of it worked as an alternative take - except for the guitar solo bridge, which was a bit too busy and unfocused.
The floor tom part in the middle is really cool.
Totally agree it was awesome!
I’ve listened to this song for so many years…it’s crazy to hear it without drums. I keep adding it in. Drums are so meaningful for holding the song together.
Made me smile with the "that track was fun. Let's do it again". Some very talented people being featured here.
Man!!!! Letting them play again after they listen to the OG version is epic.
My dude be smilin on on that last playthrough. Music is great like that.
Yall should get like a metal drummer in here to play gospel. I wanna see what they would do!
or just get this guy to play Meshuggah or something
Tool, RHCP, Green day, RATM, Korn
Tool would be especially cruel.
Punk Rock is honestly one of BEST genres to play as a drummer!!!
Church/gospel musicians are always the goats! Even though Im not religious, I always loved playing with the church guys because they had great attitudes, could mesh well with and loved learn learning tons of new styles and almost always played really, really well. Great vid!
It's always fascinating for me to hear how drummers from different genres attack a song. I wasn't sold on how he played the chorus the first time around, but he quickly adapted after listening to the song once. Pretty cool stuff.
Love that you showed him doing it after hearing the actual track as well, and also that you play the drumless track more than drumeo
Gosh darn this channel is SO much fun! K2 kicks serious butt!
Thanks dude! 🙏🏾
Dudes footwork is insane
Dude, this is the killer evolution of the original drumeo format - having them play it again after hearing the original ONCE. Not trying to cop it exactly, but having an idea of the direction
Kinda hope drumeo copies that from you now
That’s a great invention!
Duuuuudddeeee!!!!!! That was amazing! Kudos to K2 for the perfect authentic performance and to Drumble for the content!
Y'all are arguably better than drumeo rn because it's not big name celebrity drummers but it's still the same level of talent. Everybody knows gospel drummers got it but this channel is a great way to see it in action
He's stressing it so hard and we're all sat here with out mouths on the floor. It's awesome that he takes it so seriously but the fun of these experiments is to see what comes from your style! No wrong answers. This is Gospel drummer on Punk, not Punk drummer doing Punk.
Left the tuning key in the snare had me cracking up
Mad respect to K2 and all gospel drummers
Having them play again is a unique twist that you could run with a something different
I love gospel drummers. They got all the chops to play literally anything.
I definitely like the final playthrough once theyve heard it and they can nail some parts they knew they had but didnt play etc.
REALLY enjoy seeing gospel drummers play other genres - shows how much their skills translate! Also, (from experience) theyre usually "not allowed" to play so many songs like this growing up, so its nice to stretch the wings God gave them :)
That Dude is Him! He just took that thing around the block!!!
That was beautiful to watch!
im loving this series. lets do something a bit more heavy but jazzy, "Prison Song" by System of a Down
His enthusiasm is fantastic. I love every minute of it 💯‼️🔥🔊
Been an offspring fan since i was a kid, loved this interpretation of the song.
Really liked how he let the vocals shine. The tom part was really good! Made the song feel really dynamic.
Yall are doing great with this show, loving it.
Love the format of him playing the song again after hearing the full track with drums! So good!
Brother STEPPED IT UP the second time. Both were fun to hear. Great job 👏🏼
This was incredible and shows the versatility of gospel drummers and the insane possibilities of linear and single pedal drumming
K2 is crazy talented! Y’all stay blessed
I can tell he’s been playing gospel and worship music cause he composes around the vocal parts 😂
Facts
That was awesome! Love seeing more people doing the "Hears for the first time" format and I think its even more respectable when you cite & shout out drumeo as your inspiration
Great content guys! so much fun to watch. K2 killed it
This dude has so much talent
That WOOOOOOOOO at the end. :D awesome work
K2’s run after hearing the song was insaaaaane
This was fantastic! Love this format. Keep it up guys!
The drummers you guys have are so solid! Yessiiir
Just keep bringing gospel drummers !
Yes, another play through after listening is what we needed to see - keep doing this!
Absolutely killed it!! Love it!!!
love it, well done K2!
Really enjoyed this!!! keep em coming
So fun to watch - what a fun guy
people really be overthinking Pop-Punk music. It's cool to hear a different feel to it though.
That was an amazing rendition of the drum track! Well done, sir!
Beautiful reset on this tune. Sounds so fresh. Great job!!
That was sick!! Great video. Keep them coming!
These videos are so great. I legitimately thought this was a drumeo vid, well done guys! The Offspring has some bangers too, love to see you pick them!
Awesome love it!
Mad respect. Offspring being my favorite band growing up loved to see this.
I don’t even drum and i love these! Please do more of these! 🔥🔥🔥
One of my favorite songs to play on drums!
Awesome work guys, the editing has improved & K2 absolutely crushed it 🥁 Love watching these!
Dude killed it, absolutely awesome. He got the feel of the song right and that's what is most important to drumming in my opinion, drums have such a a huge impact on what tone the vibe is going to be.
Wonderful choice for the song!
That was a sick arrangement,I loved the half time
More More More More More! As a musician capable of playing multiple genres, and a listener of multiple genres, I love seeing people get out of their comfort zone and learn new genres, and be able to appreciate different genres. Keep it up my guys. fr fr. peace out.
Love that the host doesn’t know offspring either! Truly a foreign song to them!! Keep up the good work fellas!
Hit a gospel drummer with “Jerry was a race car driver” by Primus. That’d be a good one.
Those fills are insane and I love this more than the original.
Some of those fills were amazing !!
Loving this channel alot🔥🔥💯, and the respect y'all showed drumeo is fantastic🔥
Great video!!
This was really fun to watch!
Love the ending!!!
Stellar performance.
Outstanding!!! 👏 👏 👏
Awesome content! Thanks guys
Beautiful!
Props on taking the criticism from the last video and making an effort to make your editing different. I enjoyed the emphasis on showing how the drumless track sounds. Sound editing I know the emphasis was on the drums but the rest of the track could have been a BIT higher in volume I think. Digging the gospel drummers. Looking forward to the next one. Keep it up!
Loves it, thks for more drumless parts
Loveit! lets try.... Still waiting By Sum 41!!
LOVE IT KEEP IT COMING!!!
Cool content guys! looking forward to the next vids!
GREAT !
I just love gospel drummers fandoms chops. They’re always so tasteful
Oh my word what an absolutely epic interpretation of the song!!!
Please keep this series going!! So dope
This was Fire,
There is a reason the professionals are professionals!!!!
Love it! Keep up the great work.
As a huge Offspring fan myself and this being one of my favourites by them, this was such a fun video!
This album was so important to me, loved this performance
That was amazing!!
Another banger video. Dudes playing is outta here, tones are sick, vibes immaculate. Keep it up!
Man, that's one wobbly snare!
damn he nailed it. Loved the passion he played with
