This was a long time ago when times were different. When I was a kid, young, 3rd & 4th grade we lived in Ankara Turkey in an area surrounded by a lot of the embassy’s from foreign countries. Next door to us was the Saudi embassy (the building we lived in was old Saudi embassy before new one was built) and the Ambassadors son was my age and we played together alot. One summer the son (cannot recall his name) was going home for a week and they invited me to go. It was so much fun. They were such nice warm welcoming genuine wonderful people. I was also a bit of an oddity with the servants and locals. I had red hair and freckles. I looked like Opey on Mayberry or Andy Griffith show. Looked more like I should be from Ireland than US. They were also fascinated and enjoyed I would eat and loved everything they fed me from there. Their food was wonderful. I think the family wanted to take me because I was always trying and eating everything they had in the house that they ate in Turkey. Never got back but would love to.

wow what a story, i can only imagine how it felt to have this rare experience, moreover to keep this as a childhood memory. It is so true that they are willing to share with you their last piece of food or whatever really, feels like they have big good hearts 🥲 honestly willing to come back sooner rather later as it is becoming slowly very popular travel destination:) thanks for your comment, see you in the part 2 :)

Welcome to my country. We still maintain our customs and traditions. The most important foundation of life and culture in the Kingdom is to welcome the guest, no matter who he is. As for coffee, it is prepared in the same way that you saw. I hope your trip is full of love and happiness.

Dear Kristina, Saudi Arabia is considered a continent in its size and geographical, cultural, and tribal diversity. If you want to know this diversity, it is preferable that you visit a city in the north, south, east and west after you have visited the capital, Riyadh.I hope that you will visit the rest of the cities, and I am very sure that you will add more experiences in the field of pastries and baked goods, due to their diversity in the Kingdom especially if you visit villages where people still using the original tools & methods of preparing traditional bakeries & bread. Wishing you a fruitful visit to our country.

To answer your question about the 1st cup of coffee as it being mandatory to drink here is the TL;DR.. it is only rude to refuse the first serving of coffee as it show that you're being ungrateful to the host, but depending on the house/family it can vary some people would understand if you don't drink coffee others are very traditional and they would take this seriously :)

I will tell you a little 'behind the scenes' thing, when we - video creators- go the websites to download music (at least in the one I use), we don't have music by country, it comes in blocks like Middle East, so yes I should have double checked as I don't have any intentions to use ,let's say, not appropriate music. Anyways, I hope you did enjoy the video regardless this part. 😇 Saludos! 👋🏻

Hey Marian, I think it is very personal, when I went there I was very open for all kind of experiences. as i didn't know how this trip would be, but it resulted very very good, no one told told how should I dress or things like that, i think the key is to treat everyone with respect and they will respect you. But again it is very personal, if you don't feel like visiting this country, it's absolutely fine :) there are many countries in the world, see you in the next video :)) regards!
