I use 90w gear oil for my 525 XW ring chain, as per recommended by the chain manufacturer (Regina). I feel like all these spray lube are a bit waste of money if you ride very often. If in a pinch I'll just use some 40w engine oil.
@@thesighbored the thick gear oil doesn't get flicked as much if I wipe away the excess after applying the oil. It's those rollers & the pin underneath that we need to lubricate more coz that's the cause of chain stretching. For the outer links, I'll usually just spread very thin layer of oil using tooth brush or even my fingers,& then lightly wipe away the excess. Want to ask.. This chain lube.. Dries to become.. wet, dry, sticky? For chain cleaner.. I've switch to kerosene and an old toothbrush and rag.. Work's as good as any chain cleaner IMO, and 1 L will last you a very long time. Each cleaning probably need just 50-100ml. Lube wise I am still experimenting.. Favourite so far is wurth hhs drylube.. Zero fling.. Bike stays nice and clean..
Motul is quite expensive I think, RK Takasago is not a new brand.. They are famous for chain & sprocket.. So they have their own lube and cleaner products too..

It's not advisable to use tissue as u will have bits of tissues will stuck on the chain
Yup, I couldn't find a rag to use so had to use the tissue instead.
can we use RK chain cleaner to o-ring chain?
Yes you can use it to clean your o-ring chain, just remember to lube it afterwards.
