    Hi Caleb and Kim!
Here's a fun fact my wife and I learned when we were doing research on how to furnish our Victorian home with period appropriate pieces. Victorians actually made furniture out of Paper Mache! They glued the paper over heavy wire frames to create furniture that was almost indestructible.

What a wonderful Thanksgiving video surprise! The Campbell House is so beautiful all dressed up for Christmas! It’s swoon-worthy! 😂
I loved your garland on your stair railing and your tree was a true delight! Kaleb, your father is so supportive of your work and the channel - he’s the (mostly) unseen third set of hands and a strong voice in the comments. How lovely that he took the time and trouble to make the popcorn and cranberry garlands for the tree. That’s not an easy task and they look so sweet! They really help to make the tree complete! We appreciate all you do, too, John.
Hope you’re all having a wonderful Thanksgiving Day. 🍁🦃🍁

There's something old about putting an angel on top of the tree and somewhere in the room you could have an old tin jack-in-the-box. That little nook is perfect for the Christmas tree - lights show from the outside. Don't forget to hang some stockings on the fireplace and eat a gingerbread cookie.

It was always my dream, starting when I was 6, to restore the house we lived in 1968. My sisters too, I found out later. It had the same roof as your house. Even tho it was run down, we saw its beauty even at such a young age. Unfortunately it was torn down before we were old enough to save it. They're were several mansions on the road torn down and replaced with new. Craziness. I'm glad to live vicariously through your efforts to save this masterpiece.

Hey guys! This post really lifted my spirit! I decorated for years for the enjoyment of my family. Sadly, but great for them, Jesus decided to call them home. I am fully confident I will see them again! Just a little sad and nostalgic to see this video, but I LOVED it! My Dad was the one who introduced me to a "Music Box Christmas". It was a large vinyl record of recordings of the giant, stand-on-the-floor, wind up, cut-metal discs(the music) music boxes (my favorite was from a brand named "Regina") the collection of a wife of one of the early auto barons of Detroit. Dodge, I think? The sound coming from that music box was beautiful! And , that strand of gorgeous multi-colored glass ball garland. I have one of those from my Mom-it must've been my great grandmother's! She lived during that time. The music, garland, and the way the Campbell house was decorated reminded me of the way I decorate. Absolutely loved this video. And thanks for lifting my spirit! Merry Christmas!🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄✝️

I took a moment remembering of Christmas past from my childhood in Canada. A time when families would place a Victorian tree as the centrepiece in the middle of the room, carefully decorating it with small bags containing everything from popcorn balls to chocolates and candy fruits, etc. On Christmas Eve, we would gather with family and friends, and during the festivities, you would wear a blindfold, circle the tree, and pick your treats. Along with some gag gifts, nothing too bad, but someone always got a bag of coal-a couple of BBQ briquettes wrapped up. Which usually means you had to do the dishes afterwards. These are fun times filled with laughter as a way of bringing people together before the celebrations of Christmas. Have a wonderful Merry Christmas and Happy New year everyone.

I would be a kid in a candy store in these houses. Growing up my parents would take us to every antique shop we passed by on holidays. At the time it was boring, but around age 10 I started to buy my own little antiques, especially old pop bottles and medicine bottles. Many years later, I am so happy for the memories i have of those trips and time with my family and it gave me the appreciation that I have today for the beautiful craftsmanship from the Victorian-1960s eras.

I’m with Kim, that food looks good! During the Victorian, food security was available to more people, but back when our European ancestors had that mid-winter meal (waaaaaay before Christianity was a thing), winter started the new year around mid October, and when the winter solstice came around there was a feast/celebration since that was the point at which spring was closer and closer each day. It was also kind of an FU to winter, etc. As Christianity came into play, dates shifted, and pagan celebrations were renamed and absorbed into Christianity (including just about every aspect of modern Christmas such as the tree, the greens used, present giving, etc), so here we are. It’s awesome to me that these ancient traditions still live on.

Happy Thanksgiving you two and to all those following your channel.
I have a number of Christmas decorations from that period, including a paper angel used by my great-grandparents as a topper for their tree. Over the years friends have gifted me antique Christmas tree ornaments and I've done the same to my friends. I've not pulled out the Christmas decorations as yet but when I do I'm going to send you both one or two from your time period. If any others want to do the same (assuming Kaleb and Kim are comfortable with this) it would be neat to see their tree decorations again next year. I'm assuming the time period of 1890 - 1910 would be best for the ornaments. How long did the Brown family live there? I suppose those years would also work well. Again, Happy Thanksgiving.

This is beautiful Kim and Caleb. I took a break from restoring my 1899 Marschal and Smith pump organ. It's an extremely slow and tedious task, but it will be worth it when I'm done. Good news is I do have help so I'm not going at my project alone. I still need to find out where I'm going to buy replacement exhaustor bellow straps for my organ. One is connected still; the other is either torn away or had rotted over time. Any information you could give me would be greatly appreciated. 🙂

This was such an enjoyable video. I could have lived and died in the 1890’s-1900’s. The houses and tours were so beautiful! ♥️🎄

Just a little late to the party (only by a couple months 😆), it was great to see the Campbell House and Magic Chef Mansion all done up for Christmas. The wind up music box that spun the tree was so awesome! And it was great to see a tree at your house Caleb and Kim. All that you put under the tree was a great reminder of all that has happened in 2021. As the years go by, you will find more ornaments to put on the tree. Best to both of you in 2022 and thank you for the house tours!

We moved, this summer, and got to put up Christmas lights, today. It’s so neat to decorate and make the house feel like your own. I hope you guys really enjoy your first Christmas with the house.

Love both style homes. That wind up tree was awesome, I want one. Victorian and Edwardian era homes are the most beautiful imo.

I believe the picture of the room in the Magic Chef mansion showing wicker furniture was a summer picture. In that time period it was common for the larger houses to change out the wooden furniture for wicker furniture for the summer months. They thought it lent a cooler look than heavier furniture and fabrics.

Yes, Queen Victoria brought the Christmas tree into popularity, she would have a tree for each child hung from the ceiling and have cookies and candies all elaborately decorated hanging from the branches with presents underneath

No thank you Caleb for going through this process and documenting it. I literally knew almost nothing about St. Louis. If it wasn’t for you, I would not have realized that there was such thing as the magic house mansion. Keep up the good work
