The dark color on the edges before you painted the parts was absolutely a genius, that really really helped this kit pop off in my opinion. I’m defiantly gonna be using that little trick in the future
I have this build at least 20 years ago. This build refreshes myself enjoying the process
NGL, this is my very first perfect grade. A co-worker was cleaning his garage and found this in a trash bag (without the box, just all the runners and stuff in a trash bag) He said all the parts were present and after getting to the chest piece it does look like all the parts and screws are here. Excited to finish this, though, I didn't even think about painting the model. I already have the legs, arms and shoulders connected and painting those now seems like a hassle since I feel I'd have to disconnect those and redo them.
Spray cans for a PG kit ? The absolute madman...I can't imagine how many cans you went through.
4nimeDaisuki I used tamiya ts 84 metallic gold cans on my PG unicorn and went through 10 cans not including other colors ugh
@@zergslayer69 madness!!!
@@zergslayer69 how? Unless you mean the banshee or phenex isn't the only gold part of the unicorn the v fin?
Jaylon W. I painted the regular white unicorn gold, basically sprayed every single white piece. I did each piece separately since I wanted some color separation in certain areas
@@zergslayer69 sounds great do you share the pictures somewhere ?
Gundam Wing is what started me building at 10 years old, i stopped building about 8 years ago and now im getting back into it and i want to get every wing zero Gundam i can find and build
this was my first PG, and 2nd gunpla ever back in the day. how I wish you had this video out back then :p
This WAS my first ever PG kit, and I love this thing.
I was thinking getting this and perfecting this gundam this time since it's my third gundam and my first PG kit and I'm also good at electronics and wiring so I won't think this will be a hassle but who knows you won't unless you try also yolo
I'm getting a 1/100 mg kit of this for my birth day and can not wait, it is my most favorite gundam/gunplay and you made me more excited for it
Gunplay? 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
Lol this was my first gundam kit period, wayyyy back in 2000 when I was 16. Took me about to week to build and cost me $120. Was using razor blade to cut from runners (and seriously cutting myself), krazy glue, and few more mistakes here and there. Lasted for few years and slowly got damaged more and more along the way (having a bro that doesn't know how to take care of shit). I eventually un-built it and stored it away until I can someday do a full repair. Did pick up another new kit few months ago but not building it until I can ensure its protected and built to same caliber.
This WAS my 1st perfect grade lol. Its still waiting for paint. After all is said and done, this kit has a great shelf/ display potential, its a classic
I had no clue the original had issues like that.. ill keep that in mind when getting this kit now. thanks!
You're welcome 👍🏽
I really like that black you put under. It makes it look like planes that have that soot or whatever it is. I do think it's maybe too much on the wings and the metalic might be a bit too sparkly. Maybe the blue and red needed a bit MORE of that sparkly lol and glossy like metal. And maybe using that marker that makes the lines black. But yeah, really satisfying to see this Gundam figure become more acomplished.
My dad gave me this for my birthday, building was a whole challenge but im soo proud
I know this video is pretty old now but I’ve watched nor read any reviews on this particular PG Wing Gundam but I think it’s pretty sick that Bandai made the wing sections rubber instead of plastic. I would imagine that it gives you a bit more flexibility and posing! Keep up the good work @OtakuBuilder ❤❤❤
such a beautiful build and gundam design and one of my personal favorite gundams.
Some steady hands you got there bud!
I just ordered this kit I haven't got into painting! But I hope to start soon!
Dang I bought this PG not too long ago from the model shop around my area and it's probably the first PG I'll ever build which might be overwhelming 💀. At first I had my eye on the PG RX-78 that I've been saving up for but unfortunately, when I finally had enough for it, someone already took it. Nut to my surprise I saw the Wing Zero and got that instead. Hopefully it'll all go well lmfaoo. WISH ME LUCK!
This is my first perfect grade, and im working on it right now. I've had some electrical experience, and its very helpful teaching me how model leds work
Update: when i tested the leds, they worked until i got to the battery carrier assembly. Then they died.
Final update: fuck the finished product.
@@goldsocks9999 what happened?
@@santiagogarcia1606 Its so hard to stand on its own, i cant put it into any neat poses without it falling over or just slowly falling down and its just annoying
@@goldsocks9999 huh, well that didn’t go well to be honest, sorry dude
Wohoooo found another awesome modelkit channel.. love ur work man..
Super awesome video. Enjoyed from beginning to end. Also love the sound of your voice.
love the result of your paint work been watching a few of them and forgive me for asking as i am new to the hobby and skip rattle cans all together and investing in an airbrush set. Is there a reason you use both rattle can and airbrush? Is there a benefit in using both or can you just use one or the other?
Fantastic build. I'd love to see something from Five Star Stories or even a G-System build. Keep up the great work.
Very nice looking, man. How much force did you use at 18:00? I've been working on mine and when I get to that step, I have to exert so much pressure that the springs inside come undone.
On the wing ? Not lot pressure.
@@OtakuBuilder Huh, maybe it's something to do with owning the pearl gloss version, or perhaps it's just because it's an older mold of it. The wing part will push in a bit, and then get stuck, and extra pressure has to be used, and the springs fly everywhere. Maybe I'll just have to file down the pegs somewhat.
Love this man.mi always wanted this kit..since he is my favorite gundam and gundam pilot..I am building the strike freedom pg..but now I am stuck because I took soo long on it and always put it to the side that the paint I first started I cant find anymore so now its just sitting in its box unpainted.
It's funny that you mention that. I will be getting started building the strike perfect grade Gundam later on next month.👊🏽
⭐️ great build that I have enjoyed watching several times….did you also paint the rubber parts of the kit like the feathers and torso ? ⭐️ thanks 👍
That thing turned out amazing.
The beauty of this kit is just astounding, I was thinking this should be my first perfect grade model lol and I was curious if I do actually need the LED lights???
I'll be getting this PG kit soon I love the overall look of it, and it would make an Awesome piece for my collection
Favorite model!
I'm the same, a 00 starter. I think the thing that draws me most to these wings kits tho is how I feel when I hear The Wings of the Boy who Killed Adolescence
Amazing build!!! I have yet not built a PG ever but I was always curious regarding this kit! 😯😯😯
that model is one of my favorites, great job.
It's about time Bandai makes:
- MG XXXG-00W0 Wing Gundam Zero Custom (EW) 2.0
- MG XXXG-01W Wing Gundam (EW) 2.0
Great job with the build.
I will say though that this PG is definitely showing its age.
Besides having to use screws and having to construct the LED, the design looks very stocky and the proportions seem off.
A new youtuber about gunpla or a modeler? Wat a beautiful work.. IMPRESSIVE. you deserved a subsribe man.. cnt wait to see more of your work.
I wish I could make a kit as good as the one in the video.
Absolutely awesome.
Great job Sir. !!!!!
excellent video..few questions, 1, which stand are you using to hold zero up..amd 2. what did you do to get zero to hold the guns up?
If you go on Amazon and look up PG Universal Black Bracket Base Stand FOR PG Gundam New by beausheen
@@OtakuBuilder is that what the strike skugrasper and mg s/ex-s Gundam come with?
you are making me want to get a PG now. great job on this one. you have a new subscriber sir!
i assume you use a white primer instead of black because you can see where u want to place your preshadowing better after you apply your color?
Great Video! Love your choice of BGM. Hope to see the next one soon!
Thanks for this video. Great tips
your alligator clip holder during the paint process is so cool!
Dude! You are awesome! I wish I could make mine Gundam look as good as yours!
Great Paint job, I just bought 2 Gundam Kits ( My First ) Your video has inspired .
Thank you my man. That means a lot to me🧡👍🏽
Never cared for the feathered wing look on this model. It always blows my mind how good these kits look when you spend the time to paint them. I do wish that Bandai would update some of their older PG kits like the Zaku an Zeta.
Go back ins update PG. Damn you asking for a lot. In 12 years only got like 1 or 2 brand new PGs the rest is rehash Strike, Exia , 00, and Bandai bread and butter Unicorn.
My god, that's a beautiful job, man! And thanks for the video. I have this kit, but I haven't built it yet. Been really afraid to because it's my first perfect grade and the kit I've been training myself for years for. My girlfriend at the time bought it for me, and I want to make sure it turns out amazing. Watching your video helps me get an understanding of how I should tackle it. Gonna have to invest in a lot of primer and metallic gray. Also, how did you paint the rubber part of the torso?
I'm happy you found this video helpful to you dude. Now if you want my advice related to the rubber torso area. Do not I repeat do not bother painting that area at all. Because here's what's going to happen, no matter how many times you primer it and apply multiple coats of red paint to sustain it will start to flake apart over time. That goes double for the wings because they have the same kind of rubber texture.
@@OtakuBuilder Okay. I figured. I read somewhere else that someone tried to paint the rubber torso, but the paint started to flake off. Are the LEDs you used beginner friendly? I never used LEDs before, but I want to put some in for my kit.
@@HELLBENTSOUL tbh only the torso and feathers you need to worry
I was just curious when you ordered you new LED was it the 14inch wire? and if so did you have to cut off any excess wire slack in order to be able to to install it in the model's backpack? thank you so much
lol im dumb they are 14 inches but did you have to cut them to make it fit is my new question lol
Beautiful vídeo and beautiful work! Congratulations!
thats 780 HKD, roughly 99 USD
it cant be that cheap !!!
This thing probably cost 700 bucks now! Lol
i heard paint doesnt stick on rubber, did you have trouble paiting the rubber belly of this kit ?
780HK? You got a great bargain on this one!
I just got this for Christmas and I'm a little overwhelmed but once I clear my build que of 2 hg and 2 mg I should (hopefully) be mentally prepared
What do you mean by newer version? How do you tell the versions apart?
another amazing build! great work bud, if only if i have a third of your gunpla skills
cool weathering
@Otaku Builder I just finished watching the YT video for this and in the process of doing this kit. How did you wire the LEDs for power and to turn them on and off? Using the existing backpack design or something custom?
Thought you gonna add chipping or weathering effect, but she definitely look gorgeous.
I'll be doing that for the next build. I guarantee it.
Sometimes when the kit is already loaded with detail it can be a case of "less is more" in terms of painting.
Not that I've attempted it yet in any of the three kits I have built so far, need to get some HG kits to try it on, been thinking about trying to make a custom Jegan
Bought one today, just one page for the arm took me almost 3+ hours. Hoping the LEDs in the box work
Watching you build this model is like building a real robot. LEDs, switches, screws and paint jobs. That's just too much hassles for me. HG all the way.
hello how are you very good your video, a question how did you do with the part of the hips where the legs are connected in which I arm are a little loose which makes it difficult to stand up
I am planning on building this kit in the future and would like to replace the LEDs. I was wondering if you used the battery compartment in the kit? I was also wondering in your builds what kind of switch do you use and what kind of batteries and battery compartment you use in your builds? Thanks.
Nice Gundam
Hobby Link Japan had a surprise drop of a few units of this kit a little bit ago. I decided not to get it because I'm still bloody waiting for the PG Exia to get back in stock (also because I basically _just_ bought the old MG kit), but it sold out pretty damn quickly. Listening to your intro, I wonder where they found them.
Still hoping for a PG Barbatos Lupus Rex 🙏
John Ryan what about pg gundam bael...
@@neofighter6966 not really a fan of bael, i prefer lupus rex or gusion rebake full city. But if that's what they decide, then I'll take it.
John Ryan i also waiting for gundam barbatos too, but i prefer barbatos lupus than barbatos lupus rex..
i prefer barbatos lupus but as long as its a pg barbatos i'll take it
The wing on this kit for me was such a pain in the ass
Did you paint the rubber bits? I couldn’t tell. Right now that’s my only hang up about buying this one.
I know I'm super late to this video but, I just bought this and didn't realize it didn't come with decals. Where did you find a location guide to apply the waterslides?
I love this channel. I just got pretty decent at airbrushing Gunplay and you gives me so many ideas for colors and design.
Thanks
😍😍😍 this one is my favourite
I honestly would like springs and screws in more modern kits for more stability and better gimmicks.
Very nice build yet again... What can you say about the rubber parts for the waist and the wing in terms of paint adherence or the possibility of the paint flaking/peeling off.
When it comes to rubber waist don't even bother applying any kind of custom painting because at the end... the paint will start to flake off and it sucks.
I HOPE THE NEXT PG GRADE IN THE LINE OF" WING GUNDAM SERIES" IS TALLGEESE3, I WANNA SEE IT .
hello again, i love your vidoes. you inspired me to build gundam models. i recently purchased this kit. the older version pg wing. i loved it so much. great build. i used your shading techniques and it came out so nice. thanks for the inspiration. anyway, do you have a suggested action base for this model? the wings are so heavy. i was looking to get some knowledge on what a good base would be for this heavy kit. keep up the amazing work
First off thank you so much for liking the video it really means a lot to me. As for what would be the proper action bass for this perfect read there isn't any out there. Keep in mind this permacrete was never intended to have an action base. However the one I found Amazon can work but you have to keep in mind that the state third-party product."PG Universal Black Bracket Base Stand FOR PG Gundam New by beausheen" you can find it on amazon.com.
@@OtakuBuilder thank you for the reply. i really appreciate how much work you put in to make this amazing content. also, thanks for the information.
wow, it's such a great work!
May I know where can I get the stand for PG Wing Gundam?
No where. Most people who have the PG just have him standing cuz there is no real stand for him. Otherwise you literally need to build your own for him
Nice paint job ~ for speed build project !
Hi! When you are making the preshading, how many psi you use? and its a 3.0 or 2.0 airbrush?
I was about to paint brush my perfect grade wing zero , but then I saw you air brushing. I’ve never air brushed before. Is it easy? What do you recommend?
Is the pilot figure already colored from the box? Or did you customize it?
For the small paints of tamiya, are you just putting it in the air brush, or are you mixing it with thinner?
they need to make a 2.0 version of this kit to fix the proportions a bit but and make it closer to the master grade version. the master grade kinda out shines the perfect grade a bit.
hamsterwolf and get rid of the rubber piece, really ruins it for people doing custom colors
Who knows ifbthey will make a 2.0 of this kit
This is about to be my first PG, a Xmas present from my wife, what kind of stand should I get for it?
Was there a guide to placing the decals? I bought some decals seperatly and i thought it would come with something and dont remember anything in the booklet seeing decals were not provided in base kit
Im new to gundams but Ive done a ton of 40k...still reletivly new to airbrushing though and never used tamiya. What PSI are you using in the airbrush? Very cool videos.
Thanks
I wish PG could have released a light set which mimics the self-destruct mode.
Zongtao Li Pretty sure you can just tape some firecrackers on it to get the right effect
I’ve only done HG and MG kits and this is WILD by comparison
New sub! Great video & awesome build. This was my first perfect grade I bought back in 07. Sadly I (stupidly) trusted my cousin to build it & yeah that didn't work so well. I do plan to get it again. Quick question, when you were outlining the wings, was that black paint or primer? Would any other colors work? (I'm a noob when it comes to painting gunpla) Keep up the amazing work!
What's the song title at 9:05 love the track and keep building!
anyone else have to replay the first 20 seconds because they were too distracted by the beauty of the gunpla? :)
Went back here after seeing your announcement of the mg verka.
Wait a sec... the rubber part.. Did you actually paint that? It looks different from the normal shade. If so, what did you use? :o
Sir can your PG kit stand normally with all the wings attach? cause mine cant and being pulled from the back? and does the metal where you attach the legs move easily? or is it kinda thigh thanks!
I have a question, what do you do to prep your model for painting?
Also that lil character you have is so adorable
As much as I loved the anime growing up I don't think I'd ever buy the wing zero pg kit. I think G gundam and gundam wing were the dark ages of gundam design. I do have a heavy arms on the self but that's ample representation for the whole Era.
Wait no! Tallgeese! That's the exception. I would totally get that guy.
Why you use spray can when you have airbrush?
Hi do you sand it first before painting.?
hello little questions what is the paint you use to make the shadows and its compound
Did you add an led to the forearms? How did you get the lighting effect? On both the arms and the back of the head?
Hey I have a question, I bought exact this model here, and I didn't find a decals, is decals for PG sale separetaly?
Is the base included in the box with this kit?
Just found your channel, really good stuff! Would of pre-shaded the wings in blue to give it less of a harsh contrast :D
Would you use the same painting scheme for the master grade wing zero? I just bought it and it’s my first model but I wanna go big.
