American Crime Story brought me here. They showed a clip of SNL on the episode. Linda says "I hope they go easy on Monica" then turns on her TV sees HERSELF being depicted by a MAN. Ouch!!

John Goodman has been in a lot of classic movies and has played memorable characters, but honestly his portrayal of Linda Tripp is my absolute favorite!

John is truly a great all around performer. Comedy, drama, singing, dancing etc.
It's so funny, because those crazy faces Goodman was making is exactly the way Linda Tripp was drawn in MAD magazine back in the 90's. Also, King Ralph was a fun movie IMO.
John Goodman's portrayal is just so funny! But, Sara Paulson has done an amazing transformation to play Linda Tripp on the currently running series "Impeachment". It's uncanny.

I was a freshman in college when this orginally aired and may not have understood the issues, but as a 41 year old, this shit is HILARIOUS! SNL was savage back then.

I’ve just finished ACS (Hulu) and I’m so impressed with Sarah Paulson as Linda Tripp just like I was impressed by her Marcia Clark in season 1. Lots of footage of Linda Tripp on RUclips for comparison. Watching this contemporaneous SNL is fantastic.
Goodman's portrayal of Tripp is uncanny; he is exactly like her.
As someone who only learned who Linda Tripp was through this skit, yeah, they were too kind.

Not to many people know of it.
I liked it so much as a kid I made a crown and sceptre out of cardboard and would mimic the movie.
I always used cardboard as a child to create things because I was not aloud to use tools when I was young but I cut my hands up and have so many scars on them from cutting myself when making things.
I came from a poor background and never had to much for new toys or possessions so I made most all my own toys and things to play with.
I would look in the Sears catalog and find toys I liked then I would make my own version of them out of whatever I could.
After time I was able to use tools and started crafting from wood and metal sometimes.
I use to make wooden guns and I would take a piece of thick broom handle cut it to about an inch to an inch and a half then split it down the centre to make the chamber for a revolver by glueing the half’s of broom handle to either side of the wooden revolver and drill three holes in each one to make room for wooden bullets I made so I could pretend to load and unload the gun.
They should bring Goodman back for one more time with this skit

I assume the sketch is to have taken place after all the plastic surgeries. Goodman did say in a monologue that he was never going to stop impersonating her just because she changed her appearance.

Darrell Hammond did a perfect Bill Clinton parody also and, yes, a better Trump than Baldwin. He was always SNL's Trump for years, not calling him was disrespectful.
Sad part in the Baldwins fame won him favor with Lorne for ratings . Darrell Hammond deserves more respect very talented person .
