Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (メタルギアソリッド3 スネーク・イーター Metaru Gia Soriddo 3 Sunēku Ītā?, commonly abbreviated as MGS3) is a stealth action game directed by Hideo Kojima. It was developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Japan and published by Konami.[3] It is both the last canonical game and last Metal Gear game overall to be developed by KCEJ prior to the formation of Kojima Productions a year later. It was released for the PlayStation 2 on November 17, 2004 in North America; December 16, 2004 in Japan; March 4, 2005 in Europe; and March 17, 2005 in Australia. The game, which serves as a prequel to the Metal Gear series,was followed by a direct sequel titled Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, which was released for the PlayStation Portable in North America and Japan in 2006 and Europe and Australasia in 2007.

and then the same problem at the bridge. Got the roll down for the last area but the first guard at the bridge turns as soon as I run up. Got it a few tries later, I just don't see what I did differently so I guess I'll just hope it doesn't happen on the actual run

@@kronadcit doesn’t really have mouse support per sé, they just used the mouse to emulate buttons on a controller.

Yeah. They removed that in the modern versions.
I'm thinking of trying this, do mandatory saves count towards the save limit? (like when you finish the virtuous mission) and once you get an alert and it's game over do you have to quit rather than continue? Awesome run btw.
They all count, yes.
The mandatory save places are really bad, you should always ignore them.
I like how short your life gauge is shorter depending on what difficulty you playing on I know you can increase your life by treating your injuries
Yeah but you can't do that too much during this run as the game tracks how many lifebars of damage you've taken, then voids your Foxhound rank if it exceeds 3
during the first volgin fight, are you staying in the same area as him (just before the grates on the floor) so he's stuck in a loop? im doing a foxhound run rn for the first time in a long time and ngl he's been kicking my ass for the past hour.
Have your weapon equipped and unequip it as soon as he starts throwing lighting projectiles
@@kronadc took me a couple more tries but i finally beat him. on his second phase i threw some glowcap mushrooms so i got a free hit off his first attack but then he kept hitting me with a backhand smack whenever i tried reaching around him and that got me killed a couple times. I knew to unequip my gun whenever he did the lightning attack but i never put 2 and 2 together and figured out i could bait the lightning with it lmao. thanks for the tip

Can you explain the strat against the End? Why wait so long to shoot, and what’s with the shadow boxing?
Just passing time till the he gets to that sniper position while his stamina also goes down gradually a bit. I might have waited too long, just wanted to be safe and my stomach to not growl from hunger, which can alert him and mess the whole thing up.

I like it so far, there were a few slowdowns but it's most likely because I have a really old PC and it's much below the minimum requirements.

@@kronadc fixed. The game port sucks ass. Just cap fps to 35. MGS3 has no logic to be more demanding than something like MGSV.

Unequip and equip your weapon, it's called tactical reloading. Explained in the game manual

Hey, sorry to bother u but when i try to run mgs3 pc version on my pc, snake walks slow like very slow, compared to xbox and ps versions. I heard it has something to do with fps. Do u know the fix maybe?
Like on ur pc snake runs at normal speed but on mine he is normally running at like half of speed of urs
Yeah it's a frame issue. You need a decent CPU to run this game, Ram and graphics card do not matter.

It's possible, but tedious and time consuming. Probably not worth anyone's salt.
5:18 What's the purpose of emptying the gun?
Emptying an entire clip without tactical reloading gives you a magazine, which could be used for luring or silencing footsteps.
I never ended up using it though.

@@ryukoprop not quite. No slowdown on xenia, graphics options. And free. No reason to pay for the same game a 3rd or 4th time, especially when the money goes to Konami. Much better to pirate.
@@I_AM_BAYTOR I literally pirated the collection, you’re also pirating the game when you play on Xenia. There’s no need for graphics options either and even then I found some, I can double click a .ini file within MGS2 and 3’s folder and just type the resolution I want. On top of that there IS NO SLOWDOWN. This guy specifically said in his description he gets it cus his PC is bad. These are the most stable the games have ever ran in their lifetime and of all people Konami actually restored effects from the PS2 that were missing from Bluepoints Xbox360/PS3 collection AND fixed the cutscenes that their collection messed up. If you’re ready to play them I will gladly send you a link for a free download to the games from the new collection
Xenia Canary is unstable and Steam version actually does have faster load times because it doesn't have to cache shaders
I can't test this claim because my PC can't even emulate PS2 games with PCSX2 properly.
