Official statistics reveal that over the course of three years, police forces have put the wrong fuel in their cars on 4709 occasions. That's an average of four cars damaged per day, and the mistakes are estimated to cost around £6500 a week. Over the three year test period, that equates to more than £1 million. Humberside's force has an all-gas fleet but still managed to somehow put the wrong fuel in one car. This evidence came to light when a group called the TaxPayers' Alliance demanded the information under the Freedom of Information act. It asked 52 forces for the figures, eight forces rejected the request, and four more didn't respond.
@@DJAUDITS when you watch police chases in the US, it's not uncommon for the car being chased to run out of gas. I'd bet that it's protocol for the cops to always leave the station with a full tank.
Those pumps, in my Army days, you had to tap in the reg etc, obviously can be abused, then they changed to a card system. Still abused lol. Depends who is keeping an eye on it. When we filled up, we always filled a few Jerry Cans, for emergency use. My own car lol. I should report to the Police immediately haha. So easy to be misused. I can only assume better systems are in place these days to prevent abuse.
@@Alipalibach Of course it was lol. When, back in the day they paid us about £4 an hour, for potentially 24hrs a day, was difficult to afford anything. Plus we put our lives on the line for a pittance. Yes was my choice. Any perks legal or not were taken gladly.
You'll probably find the doors were stored ready for breach training. I once did a big office refurbishment, had about 15 doors of all different types and the police actually knocked and asked if they could take the old doors for this reason 😂
Maybe they was just topping up the tank. When I used to do van driving the van I was issue with was always the one that was only half full. So I wonder if that's the same issue👍
I note that the drone code states that you should fly more than 50 meters fron overhead electric cables. Did those cables interfere with the drone's navigational communication signal?
They only put a small amount of fuel in the car, because if you watch closely, it is quite obvious that the woman officer is training the other person, showing them how everything works. Putting fuel in was just to instruct the trainee on how things are done, hence the small amount of fuel inserted in the tank.
Good video mate 👍 the doors are probably for training as each door can have a slightly different sweet spot to hit with the big red key . And the fule thing is they have to go out at the start of there shift with a full tank or fill it at the earliest convenience. Great drone footage!
Just so you're aware, police forces across England are currently getting briefed on auditors. It'll also be included in police manuals for starting officers. You'll start receiving very generic interactions with the police which may not make exciting viewing.
I doubt it because the police will only replace the door if 1. They have made a mistake. i.e. wrong address, or 2. They didn't give the home owner a chance to let them in & when they got into the property, there intelligence was wrong & no crime was being committed, then the door as to be replaced with the same quality, or better than what the home owner had, or they could sue the police for costs of the difference in getting it replace. .
@@smokieandenzo Wow! thanks for all that PC BACon ning em - it must be a police front door recycling area then! 😁 😂 🤣 😆 (And it's their intelligence - not there 😄)
Another great video. Interesting how the totally enclosed, totally isolated and fenced off police station represents how the police appear to society - in a world of their own. This is reinforced by the chap at the end on the phone, who declines to speak to a member of the public, and is most likely on the phone to ask what can be done ! - great work DJ Audits 🙂
regarding filling the car, most police forces have a policy of re fueling a car after use to ensure there is always a full tank, so regardless of how many miles have been driven its left with full tank
Those doors are probably used for training I would guess so they can keep up to date with the best entry tactics for newer doors, some of those upvc doors are extremely difficult to force entry. The composite doors are near impossible
They probably are filling it. They may have a policy of topping it up when it get's to three quarters or something. I use to drive buses and when we returned to the depot in the evening we always had to top the bus up regardless of the remaining fuel.
IF that is a cop compound; paid for by the "taxpayers"; then IF those cars undercover are "seized" vehicles, then possibly when owners want them back the cops are "double dipping" the charges paid and NOT involving any other private compound owners!!! Possibly that is why there are NO signs telling the general public what that "riverside" place ACTUALLY does!
The girls that didn't put much fuel in did turn their blue lights on just after passing you. You can see the reflection of the flashing lights on the back of the lorries (on the 5th wheels) at 15:28 - 15:29.
I would say that they had a mostly full tank and were just topping it up before leaving for their daily duties - although I don’t know how the officer you spoke to would know what they did from the other side of the yard, your attempt to interact would of being better spent asking better questions eg. the doors, the confiscated vehicles, main purpose of this site ect..
It's an interesting but fairly anonymous location. The facilities there probably replaced the old Shakespeare Street garage they had in the city centre.
look in the front of police vehichles 2ft by 2 ft sticker across the dashboard in yellow says this vehihcle is diesel and one outside the filler flap and they still pick up E10 PUMP .OR E5 . or parrafin . And it has been known that some officers in the yard have put hose pipes in the oil cap untill it was full .all on line .
Had to deal with a vehicle that was on fire after a crash and was later told by the fire brigade that a petrol tank that had only a small amount of fuel in it was of much higher concern that a full tank. Diesel is a different matter entirely if it becomes vapour.
You Can't get fuel mixed up!, the fuel key for that car only works on one pump . The second key is a drivers key so the fuel is log out to that person . Easy to trace if people are filling fuel can's, I am NOT saying police do that , I worked for Barnsley council and we had the same setup . The doors are like other people have said , it's for the BIG RED KEY training lol

good little vid, i also think thay just topped it up to full, but i think that should be done by returning bobbies not those going out on shift, less chance of them coming in on blues but leaveing is highly, but how many does it take unless someone was showing someone lol, then again its the driver normally does that so if the new be was driving then would'nt they of done a refuel of there own cars,
