UPDATE: The creator of Morserino-32 contacted me in the comments below. Adding Farnsworth spacing is quiet easy and is referred to as "intercharacter space" in the parameter menu. Double click the red button and you'll find the setting there. Great!

I'm a no-code Extra, but I learned code because I wanted to, and I'm super glad I did. In my experience, the best way to learn is to just do it. There are many many guys on the air (local and elsewhere) that are very patient and enjoy ragchewing at slow speeds with new CW operators. Just avoid contests at first LOL. I purchased this before your video, on a whim, and it has been one of the best kit purchase that I have made. There are a lot of possibilities and I have just scratched the surface. I just assembled the Morsenino 32 last evening. It was very simple and quick. The instructions far exceed my expectations for clarity. Good stuff!! Just built my Morserino this weekend and am thoroughly enjoying it. I've noticed a definite increase in my CW ability though I am a complete beginner. It's a really flexible, useful and friendly device. Hoping to get the WiFi working; all I need is a friend to get/build one and figure it out!! Thanks for the review and insight.
My kit came a few days ago. All the SMD parts are previously installed. It only took me a hour to install the rest of the parts which are the socket, plugs, and battery connector, great learning tool. The LoRa option is neat as you can have two or more units in the same room or house in different rooms and send CW back and forth just like being on the air.

The echo trainer is great it’s basically teaching you a new language the same way you learn any language including your mother tongue. When you were a child you heard a word and mimicked it. I found it the fast way for me to learn and improve both my copy and send at the same time. The active participation seems to utilize more of your brain and it just goes quicker. The portability makes it great to take with you and learn on your spare time. I found it a very powerful device.
Thanks for the great video! Just one comment re. Farnsworth spacing: you can achieve this by adjusting the parameter "intercharacter space" - There is als the possibility to just increase "interword space", which gives you a whole word in fast speed, but then increases the pause until the next word is being generated...

Double-clicking the black rotary encode knob gets you the parameter menu.

It's a great little kit. I've been having fun with mine! The creator is super responsive too. I have a bad speaker on mine and he had no issue sending me a replacement.

Mine arrived a couple of weeks ago. It does come as a kit that requires soldering to assemble which if you have the tools and skills can easily be done in one evening. I didn't order a battery for it until after the kit arrived. It worked the first time that I turned it on. I've been trying to learn Morse code for a while. I can send but my timing could use some refinement. Learning to go from code to text has been a real struggle. At this point, I just need to practice, practice, practice.

Thanks for the demo video, I can't find your amazon link to the lipo battery and his directions listed bad links in Europe as well for the 600mah version, most battery's at amazon were too wide in width by 5mm. but that mini usb connection to power it looks promising, since I have several battery's to support my iPhone with its lousy battery, keeping it on life support.
I have been doing well with my straight key & oscillator, & paperwork from CW academy to go along with it since I have several HF radios that only use straight key, like my clansman prc320, also have been using the ICWO.net site and of course ARRL/W1AW MP3 file page for practice, since I want to get back to the mid-nintys when I got my WAS on 40 with CW but since fell off the horse! Looking forward to putting my kit together since it came in two days ago!! Now If I can just get off these 12hr shifts! this is my last one for awhile!!! 73

I started learning at 23WPM and I am almost 75% throuhg with the koch method. I read somewhere that its better to start fast right away. I have no problem with one char at a time with 2 seconds pause. And also have no problem giving code. The problem is as soon sever chars come at once in a word I am totally blocked in the head. Is that normal? How long does it take to get used to fast paced words?
Start taking the Learn CW Online tests and keep ratching up the speed as you progress. That is one way to get through the copy hurdle.
What are the batteries you used? Size name of battery, I think you said you got the off Amazon, but I never saw the link.

Was looking for a ham-related kit to build, and stumbled upon this. Played with various apps which convinced me of two things:
1. I haven’t a chance of learning with a straight key, but the paddle seems best.
2. Repetition, preferably by immersing myself in Morse, daily, seems required to make progress.
Concern: I’m a better than average typist, but tend to make mistakes when typing fast- a non-forgiving device when trying to learn to key at speed seems like an exercise in futility- especially if I cannot see what my mistake might have been. Thoughts?
I agree with your points 1 & 2. As for the last part. Don’t go faster than you can receive. Receiving is arguably the harder aspect.
Hey Josh, do you still use this device? I'm trying to learn to copy letters, numbers and punctuation (using the Morse Mania app) and I'm wondering about the Morserino. Also, have you done any more with the Long Island CW club?
I still play it. Lots of fun. I have to get home earlier in the day to make it to the classes for Long Island cw club. With my new responsibilities it has been really tough.

Like in so many other demo vids of an iambic keyer, you are not using the iambic function. For example at 10:04 you only need to squeeze both paddles, touching the right one (dahs) first, for sending the letter C. The iambic function takes care. Also, you are using the iambic B mode, which I would not recommend (i.e. use mode A instead). 73 de HA7RJA

I practice with it. But I use my radio on LICW.
So I don't knee it just makes it easier to learn. I know the teach 20 Characters And after you get them down they teach you another 20. Then after that they put you butt on the air which is in the area of 3 months is that correct
