Total confidence in Brooks despite multiple close matches. No confidence in Spencer because he had one close match. Something doesn’t add up.
Spencer has probably the second deepest weight.
He’s definitely good enough to win gold, it’s just more of a debate of whether he can put all the matches together to win. Which is already a dumb take since he hasn’t lost a freestyle match in years, but even as a SL fan, is a valid take.
@matt6619 The thing is these last few years he hasn't really been competing in freestyle. I pretty sure this Qualifer was the first international tournament he's wrestled at in like 8 years and at the senior level. So, I'm not sure how much weight going undefeated in years really holds. I still think his chances are very good.
@@matt6619Spencer was also on a 50 or 60 something win streak when he lost at NCAAs his final year and seemed to be all but guaranteed to win his 4th title and got pinned. Any guy at any given tournament can show up and crash the party.
Spencer has the mindset to put that all behind him. He will take home the gold
Spencer
If he can work on his neutral, yes. His neutral is his weakness
Spencer Lee is the only guy to show dominance. And he can fix the blast single problem.
They could go six for six with everyone getting a medal but falling short on gold. And yet, I could see Spencer, Dake and Brooks bring home a gold.
Spencer Lee. Aaron brooks. Kyle dake.
I think Snyder can as well
@@Patricktheluchador I can only see Spencer Lee winning....everyone else...yeah...
@@helloman3676I don’t know man. I think Spencer CAN get gold, but I’m more confident in Dake, Snyder, and Aaron than I am in Spencer
kyle has to outwork sidakov
1. Spencer Lee
2. Aaron Brooks
3. Kyle Dake
4. Mason Parris
5. Kyle Snyder
6. Zain Retherford
Dissing on Snyder is simply and utterly idiotic.
No it isn't 😂
You should look at how he wrestles also he lost to azarpera in the ranking series even without the sadluev threat he is still there
And Mason Paris has to be last because he lost to Iran's 2nd string in valizadeh at the same ranking series
look at what tazhudinov did to sadulaev and snyder in the same day in belgrade
@@انوشقزوینیand then what about the loss the Sad had to Taz?….Snyder has world and Olympic golds along a silver Olympic gold medals, not even Jordan Burroughs did that
@@francostacy7675 sadluev isn't competing
@@francostacy7675 Snyder isn't the same person he peaked then he has younger
Also sadluev isn't competing and was injured
Kyle Dake absolutely not. Unless Sidakov is gone hell to the no. The gap between Sidakov and Dake is the same as the gap between Dake and Nolf.
If I had a bet with my life, I’m taking Spencer every time. I’m seriously rooting for Kyle Dake though. Aaron on a mission from God right now.
After watching the last chance qualifier I'm going Spencer. Outside of the Chinese wrestler (who was the 1 seed) he completely dominated the field.
I like Spencer as most likely to win
Spencer, Dake, Snyder, Brooks, MP, Retherford.
Retherford for sure medals. This isn’t his weight and he has HAMMERS in his class. He’s not taking Gold. Mason Paris can medal but I don’t know if he’ll take home Gold. But I think he’s only getting better. Spencer with adjustments is a SCARY guy, I can see him taking Gold. Dake I can see taking Gold. Synder I think medals but I think he can bring home a gold.
I don’t know if Brooks takes Gold.
In My Opinion:
1- Brooks
2- Lee
3- Snyder
4- dake
5- Paris
6- Retherford
1. Dake 2. Brooks 3. Lee 4. 5. 6.
Kyle Dake is bringing it home this time
I don’t see him beating Sidakov
@@ttot20 I think you're right but I hope he can.
Sidakov’s never lost in international competition. He’s due for a loss.
@@ttot20 bro just watch there last match no doubt Dake adjusts and doesn't leave any doubt
@@JYes-s5oI agree. Dakes adjustments are alot more than sidokov
All 6 weights could medal, hope there are a couple golds in there at least.
The ones most favored to win medals are gable? DT? :)
Lee, Dake and Brooks
Seems like every U.S. wrestler could medal but in terms of gold… No one really talked about the competition level in each weight at US Team Trials.
74 and 86 were utterly insane. Dake looked the most dominant vs the strongest competitors. Lee and Brooks next in my book. Of course Brooks had close matches, he faced multiple world medalists in a two day period. 65… well Yianni didn’t even make it to the finals which says a lot, though Nick Lee and Retherford got to skip ahead. Here goes:
Dake
Brooks
Lee
Snyder
Retherford
Paris
May be putting too much emphasis on Brooks beating Taylor. Taylor is 33 yo and hadn't competed much recently so may not have been at his best. One Brooks victory based on a singlet pull.
Lee
Dake
Brooks
Snyder
One of those four, could be more than one.
I wish i had attrmpted freestyle back after thr ncaa
Zahid and Ringer gave Brooks fits and scored many points on him.
Those two guys aren’t slouches
lee (1), retherford (1), dake (2), brooks (3), snyder (np), parris (3) ... mark it
I think all of our guys can get it done. All of our women and greco guys are gonna get after it too. Every single USA wrestler at the 2024 Olympic games will win GOLD.
Us hardcore wrestling fans are few and far between! 😂
I think mason may have the best shot of making the finals aside from Dake I really think he beats Geno, Zare however is a different beast.
Spencer, Aaron, Snyder, Dake, Zane, Paris is my order....
1. Dake
2. Snyder
3. Aaron
4. Spencer
5. Mason Parris
6. Retherford
The top 4 I think have a 90% chance of getting gold, the bottom two I think CAN get gold, but they seem like silver or bronze guys to me at the moment
Dake will have to wrestle 2 guys he has lost to. I doubt it
I think the biggest threat to Snyder is Azarpira he beat him 6-3 at the ranking series
Sidakov and saduleuv are out of the Olympics
Then Dake is clearly the 1 in this conversation.
I haven’t heard of Sidakov being out there’s been no mention of that
If Sidakov is out there should be an asterisk near the gold medalist
@@somarramos7156when does that ever happen?
Every champion in whatever sport has some good luck shine on them. In wrestling it’s a dog eat dog world, if a guy somewhere in the world gets hurt or disqualified, it all is part of the grind and survival of the fittest.
If you look at it that way ANYONE that wins the heavyweight gold should have and asterisk on the medal that states that Gable was not there
Everyone knows Valencia beat Brooks and Taylor didn't prepare for the trials how he normally does. No way Brooks is favorited, hes ranked 3rd in my opinion at that weight. Lee is my favorite to win just based on his senior events this year
I hope DT teaches Brooks how to beat Yazdani. Lets not forget, nobody else has beaten Yaz in 8 years. I honestly think Brooks can be the best wrestler the USA has ever had.
Snyder should be a favorite considering Sadulaev is not going to betray his country to go to the Olympics. Yes, Taz had a very good WC run. Let's see it again.
Now I now who stole my wife's ear rings.
Aaron, Kyle, Spencer
1. Dake
2. Lee
3. Brooks
4. Snyder
Valencia handed Brooks that match. Brooks wasn't Head & Shoulders over everybody else.
People are over optimistic about these Olympics. Brooks is not a favorite for these Olympics. He will be running a gauntlet for the first time ever. He beat David Taylor twice, but he looked very vulnerable against Zahid. Singlet pull for the win. Mirasola took him down twice. These guys talk about Snyder as if a few adjustments are going to result in him suddenly beating Taz, who teched him 10-0 last time.
he had to run a gauntlet just to get to Taylor, who was the consensus #1 P4P in the world. Not as deep as the Olympic bracket will be, but he beat Hidlay who won Bill Farrell and Zahid is world class. Sure, the quality of opponents may not be as deep but he's had that tournament experience of making weight two days in a row and wrestling with a short turnaround .
Taz scored 8 points on two defensive throws because Snyder was careless against the no-name wrestler and overcommitted on his shots. How many offensive points did Taz score on Snyder? It most certainly is something Snyder can turn around.
@@tylernicholson1155 That "no-name wrestler" handled what most people consider the #1 and #2 97kg senior men's international wrestlers, and the matches against Snyder and Sadulaev weren't even close. Taz deserves respect, and he sure has mine. He also beat Mohammedian from Iran 8-2 in the Asian games on his way to a gold medal performance.
@paulmalfara6071 Did I say Taz doesn't deserve respect? At the time he was a pretty no-name wrestler... you cannot deny that. That is why Snyder didn't have his guards up. And youre failing to address the way in which he scored points on Snyder (because you know it doesn't support your argument). Sadulaev forfeited this same match due to a neck injury did he not? This tournament in the matches leading up to Taz, Sadulaev had some of the most unconvincing wins of his career by just squeaking out wins against wrestlers he usually destroyed. Then we discovered he genuinely had something wrong with his neck. So I'm failing to see how you're bolstering your argument by bringing this up.
Taz is great and has beat many great wrestlers but stop acting like he went out there and put up 10 offensive points against a sharp Snyder because that's just fabricating history.
@@tylernicholson1155 Lighten up, Tyler. We'll see how things play out in the Olympics. I would point out a few things. First, Tazhudinov is only 21 years old. Young guys DO appear on the Senior Men's International Freestyle circuit, and they often make an immediate impact. Most American fans are hoping that Aaron Brooks will do so in these Olympics. If he does, he will do so as a "no name" wrestler internationally. The world does not follow NCAA folkstyle wrestling. The second point I would make is that Tazhudinov has a few years of pretty awesome success. He got a bronze medal at Russian Nationals in 2022, before he made the move to represent Bahrain. Now you seem to know something about wresting, so I don't have to tell you how tough a tournament Russian Nationals is. Since making the move to be the rep from Bahrain, he has won gold at EVERY TOURNAMENT HE ENTERED, including two Asian Championships (2023, 2024), two Grand Prix UWW Ranking Series Tournaments, the Arab Championships, Yasar Dogu (2024), as well as the World Championships last year. My final point is that he comes from Dagestan. Enough said.
Future Oklahoma State assistant coach, Kyle Dake.
No way. One of the GOATs? He’s not taking ANY assistant jobs (unless it was Penn St.)
@@ethanksiazek5548 DT is one of the GOATs... 4x NCAA finalist 2x champ 4x world champ and Olympic gold medalist... but I think the main reason he said that is bc Dake and Taylor are close friends and have been since childhood. and Oklahoma State is the most prestigious program in the country.
@@kristopherwilson506it was the most. Now it’s PSU. Taylor can turn it around.
I’m gonna blaspheme and say we are bringing home a lot of silver this summer
I say the states bring home 4 golds with brooks and spencer the best bets
Id rather see Valencia rep the USA over Brooks, the ref in the challenge finals did everything in his power to make sure Brooks won, definitely not the better wrestler (at least in that match). Disgusted with USA wrestling for letting the happen and not doing anything about it
Doesn’t Brookes train with Taylor? Maybe that’s why he beat him
Spencer Lee should be the gold medal favorite from what I have seen. Followed by Aaron Brooks, Dake, Snyder, Retherford. Sorry Mason, 0% chance at gold
I feel pretty confident everyone outside of Zain will be on the podium (not that he can’t, just tough cut and weight loaded with great wrestlers).
My prediction -
Spencer - gold
Zain - heart says bronze, head says dnp
Dake - gold
Aaron - gold
Snyder - silver
Mason - bronze
Good gosh can JD talk about Sad anymore? I think he has a man crush on him! I think he wants to sniff his singlet
He wants to put an untested Brooks chance over Snyder even though he has world and Olympic gold medals .
However do agree and put Paris last
I put Snider 1, Brooks 2, Spencer 3, Dake 4 , Zain 5, Mason 6
I still think Taylor is the best American wrestler
Every FS team member could do it.......Eastern European refs/judges are often a big factor.......I don't see anyone beating Aaron....
The best team ever
Brooks looked beatable at the trials. Dake, synder and Lee.
Dake won’t be
Myles amine could beat Brooks then lose to yazdani
This clip is a joke.
Dake is better than David Taylor. He beat him countless times. Sidokov is much better than yazdani.
Third
Aaron is the most boring wrestler. And who cares if he wins? He’s just going to say this doesn’t matter and all glory to god blah blah. I’d love to see Spencer with the gold.
Aaron wins a gold lee and dake win gold zain wins the bronze and synder second no prediction at heavyweight
Everyone says brooks but the David he wrestled was not the same we’ve seen on the world stage years prior. David has opened multiple businesses, coached and was working on his new farm. His mind has been on other things no discredit to Brooks and his win ,but that’s just my thoughts on it
I completely agree. I can’t remember a DT that had almost zero offense. That was not the multiple time world medal DT.
Totally agree. Before the match Taylor talked more about wife and kids and then after the loss…BAM….hes a coach at a major wrestler school. That was not a spur of the moment thought…..I think inside he knew his time was done and ready to pass the torch onto someone worthy of
Brooks will never be able to stall his way to a gold. He has shown little to no offense and he can’t just out muscle the world competition. He will be on the shot clock for sure
Wanna watch more Spencer and Zain
I’d put my money on Spencer over Brooks
deringer won the match
My six
1. Lee
2.Dake
3.Snyder
4.Brooks
5.Zain
6.Paris
I don’t think Brooks won as much as I thought DT was cold and had a really bad day. Brooks had a tough route.
Wrong
I predict that Americans win 10 medals that includes Americans wrestling for other countries
I think yazdani might not be there, injuries?
SPENCER LEE
Ramos wins a silver and
