That video was embarrasing. You should be ashamed of those rankings. Im not sure who ranked those people but it was so way off you should maybe find a new career. Bader, i love your commentating. Please dont ever rank wrestlers again. Dan Gable said Chris Campbell was the best wrestler he ever coached. Gene Mills had the NCAA pin record for decades. Jayden Cox missed weight. Rulon Gardner beat Karelin by a fluke at the absolute end of his career. The rules that beat Karelin dont exist anymore because they were so bad. He slipped a grip. No points were scored.
Much much MUCH better international resume than Cael. Tbh the only reason to put Cael above her would be his coaching career but that doesn't seem to be considered in this ranking system.
Too much emphasis on the female & the “First black” etc… enough of that. Wrestlers abilities & accomplishments should be the only consideration. Has Flo gone “Woke”? I mean cmon, you had Helen over Cael? 😂 (Btw I wouldn’t of minded a separate female list, like the top 10 or 20 females of all time maybe..)
I think you forget that white ppl created race to oppress, violate and exploit Black ppl and IPOC so it's ok to highlight competitors who had to overcome anti Blackness racism. Black ppl have a different history and existence than all other demographics in the USA. I agree there should be a separate list for women/girls.
Great that you put all this time and energy into rating the top 100 American wrestlers. It is well done but I feel some of the old time wrestlers such as Jack Vanbebber who was the first undefeated 3 time NCAA champion and who pinned ever single one of his opponents plus he won an Olympic gold medal have been underrated. Sure it was a long time ago and there was not as much competition as in the modern era but wrestlers such as him and others like Hodge would be even better wrestlers today as the training methods and techniques are even better. So all that has to be taken into consideration when rating the old time wrestlers otherwise they get underrated which I think some of them have been.
I think the list was pretty good but I feel like Cael and Dan should be top 4 at least, their coaching prowess is incredible and I think deserves to bump them up.
Wade Schalles is still my favorite wrestler. He was the king of funk and even had a video called "Legal Pain." The "X" in the mat wasn't his idea, though. It was someone in the student body that challenged him to pin his opponent on it. Coach Bubb never knew what was going on because when Wade was pinning his guy, the tape rolled up and came off the mat and stuck to the guy who got pinned. I was teammates with Dennis Koslowski's brother, Jim. He also was an extremely tough wrestler who placed 3rd in the nation. Cool guy, too. I saw Randy Lewis pin his Soviet opponent in 1981 in Randy's home town in Rapid City, SD. I've never heard a crowd scream so loud.
Great video Flo! The only one I think you guys were way off on is Gene Mills-I would put him in at least the top 20. In addition to what you guys said, 107 falls and 96% victory rate in college. It would have been a huge upset for anyone to beat him in the 1980 Olympics. One of the most impressive things he did was when he just walked out of the stands at age 26 and beat Kevin Dresser by 12 points in the finals of the Midlands. I don’t think he had wrestled a single match in 3 years and he had moved up 2 weight classes.
Putting a female in top 100, let alone TOP 5, is not okay. The BEST wrestlers are all men. Put the 100th person on this list against her, and we’ll see how good she stands, she can even choose, folkstyle, freestyle, Greco. She can choose the style, and the man will beat her in every one
Bro it’s not about who would win it’s about their achievements, with that being said this list is bullshit and Cael being behind Helen and not even top 5 is an insult to the goat of ncaa wrestling

Bruce should be second and I don’t think it’s even close. However, Jordan is a solid third. -Dan Gable should be higher
I think Bruce in front of JB is debatable 2 Golds a Silver and. Bronze in the olympics. That tells me on the biggest stage when things go his way he’s good and when they don’t he still sticks around in the top three! At HW too wrestling the biggest baddest dudes on the planet! He had injuries at a few key moments in his career and was done a disservice at the Olympic by the ref... He was in my opinion hands down the most fun American wrestler to watch ever to this day.
Andy Rein had a great HS and college career in Wisconsin. Add the Olympic silver medal, plus other international wins and he deserves mention. Watch this match against Nate Carr ruclips.net/video/BqR31ALBd0Q/видео.html

@@smooch7842 they ranked a female above Gable 😂😂 what a shit page this turned into. Woke trash
Great history lesson. Good to remember the pioneers of this sport
Helen number 4... flosports come on now! Better than Cael!?!
Equality 😅😂😂😂
Welcome to WokeWrestling
Yes, she has a better international resume than Cael.
Much much MUCH better international resume than Cael. Tbh the only reason to put Cael above her would be his coaching career but that doesn't seem to be considered in this ranking system.
Ali over Metcalf? Lmao woke much
Too much emphasis on the female & the “First black” etc… enough of that. Wrestlers abilities & accomplishments should be the only consideration. Has Flo gone “Woke”? I mean cmon, you had Helen over Cael? 😂
(Btw I wouldn’t of minded a separate female list, like the top 10 or 20 females of all time maybe..)
I think you forget that white ppl created race to oppress, violate and exploit Black ppl and IPOC so it's ok to highlight competitors who had to overcome anti Blackness racism. Black ppl have a different history and existence than all other demographics in the USA. I agree there should be a separate list for women/girls.
Woke virus
That's what happens when you go woke
Damn Stephen Neal was a athlete. Beat Ricky Williams, Brock Lesnar, world title, then goes and plays for the patriots for ten years! Crazy.
Lesser was not a great wrestler but he was stronger than everyone
Stephen neal was incredible
@@lesgobrandon9444He was a NCAA Champion
@22:07 we see Hendo rockin' an epic mullet back in the 90s.🤘
This needs way more views !
Great job Flow !
Why its worst list ever nobody needs to see this
Great that you put all this time and energy into rating the top 100 American wrestlers.
Amazing history of our very best in the sport.
I'm happy to see my friend Lee Kemp was in the top 10.
The world missed out in 1980.
Mike Caruso, Lehigh Univerity 3X NCAA champ only because freshman couldn't wrestle varsity back then. Easily would have been a 4x.
I love not just this list but how much notoriety wrestling has gotten flowrestling ❤ thank you
I think the list was pretty good but I feel like Cael and Dan should be top 4 at least, their coaching prowess is incredible and I think deserves to bump them up.
I'm not mad at their placing. If this was "Top 100 Most Important Wrestlers" then I have them 1 and 2.
@@magicalfrijoles6766 Agreed Cael and Dan show be 1 and 2. It's not just their wrestling, it's also their coaching.
I’d go…
1.Smith
2.Sanderson
3.Gable
…if the criteria is the entire career just because Smith won so many golds. 🇺🇸
@@cgmoran91it all depends on the criteria. Are we going with straight hardware or as a totality for the sport? For the latter, it’s gotta be Gable.
He should have been higher on the list. He beat Lee Kemp who was way up there.
I agree, much higher.
Tech-pinned reigning world silver medallist Bobby Weaver months after Weaver almost won a world title.
Mills should have been much higher. Very few can match his accomplishments at all levels.
This is a dumb list lol.
Your comparisons are not fair. Woman deserve to be on the list. You can't compare thier abilities with men.
@@Jacknippleson1 I would consider Dake the GOAT of collegiate wrestling, but he's definitely runner up
@@Dpend84 that’s a fair opinion but Cael never lost in college… only person to do it. So respectfully, I disagree
Those females wouldn't be in the top 100,000
This list is definitely not legit as far as the top 100 greatest wrestlers in United States history! Especially in the way you guys ranked these guys! I'm confused how you can rank ncaa 1st to 8th place wrestlers higher than ppl that won world and Olympic gold, silver and bronze medals!? This list is just way to all over the place! And how do you rank these collegiate wrestlers that won all through college but never did the freestyle or Greco-Roman stuff? Not to mention, you got ppl on this list ranked higher from winning division 2 and 3 championships over a division 1 title and world and Olympic achievements? I'm confused lol
Cael Sanderson is definitely #1
127-3 in Highschool
159-0 in College
1 Olympic gold medal
1 silver medal at world championships
Current best college wrestling coach
Stephen Abas seriously should be way higher on the list.. I don’t even know how that is possible
My college teammate beat metzger in the big eight finals but lost to him at nationals but i also wrestled at the same time of metzger our high schools were about 10 miles apart but different weights classes thank goodness
Bobby Douglas in the upper 80s has me in shambles.
Agreed. Very disrespectful. The man is a total legend.
Ridiculous he’s that low
Seriously, he’s top twenty at least!
Very cool dude also! Was a great friend of my father.
Metcalf at 100 is wild
1. Cael Sanderson
2. John smith
3. Dan Gable
4. Snyder
5. Lee Kemp
6. Bomgartner
7. Taylor
8. Burroughs
9.Dake
10. Rulon
Where's Dave Shultz

@@tropicalterrarium1742 when and where did you wrestle
You guys lose a lot of credibility after that atrocity of a top 10… what? Cael number 6? That is straight up disrespectful to the goat of NCAA wrestling and arguably just the goat.
Honestly should just delete the video and try again… I shouldn’t be so annoyed but you claim to know wrestling and put Cael at 6 and Gable in the 30s… David Taylor got pretty disrespected too tbh
@@Jacknippleson1 they put Metcalf last, even though he could beat the brakes off every female on the list that's ranked better.
@@bocain812 yeah they did him dirty too, they should’ve done a separate list for women.

Henry is a goat Olympic first ever Olympic gold medalist in the ufc and one of the only dual ufc champions
Mark schultz was the first olympic champ in the ufc henry is the only ufc champion to hold a olympic gold and win ufc gold.
Mike Houck was my Cabin Counsellor at Ben and John Peterson's Camp of Champs in northern Wisconsin in the mid 1980s. Great man and extremely humble.
Some of these rankings I don't get...Slay over Lewis...for example...lot other rankings too.
Still enjoyable video.
Great job. Glad someone is making content like this
I really like that number one proved it is not how you start, but where and how you finish. How high you go--not how long it took you to get there.
I would also credit Burroughs with pushing Dake & Taylor to be so good. Dake & Taylor were constantly battling with Burroughs for that 74 kg spot. And when Dake finally beat Burroughs it turned out to be the best thing for all 3. Because Burroughs was great @79 kg & Taylor was perfect @86 kg.
Can't wait for Jayden Cox to to be the coach after his awesome career.. absolutely sucks his disqualification for not being on time... One of my favorite to watch
Should have included Abe Lincoln, guy has a crazy wrestling story.
Hahahah so true. 🇺🇸

One HUGE bit of information you failed to mention regarding Greg Gibson ( #65 ) was of all his amazing accolades and there are MANY. He not only represented his Country in the Olympics but more importantly HE SERVED HIS COUNTRY HONORABLY. FROM 1978-2003 HE SERVED IN THE UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS.
Now that is unquestionably truly remarkable.
His Military service was not more outstanding than his wrestling accolades.
How he wasn't on this list is beyond me! He beat Kurt Angle, and out of his two losses in college, one was Bruce Baumgarter.

Kyle Dake is #2 overtaking Burroughs currently and David Taylor is top 5 all time after his Olympic gold.
I would DEFINITELY not put Dake above Burroughs at this time, even accounting for his superior NCAA resume. If he beats him again in the trials and wins Gold in Paris then maybe. But at this point, no way. Agree though that Tayor is probably top 5 at this point. If he wins another gold in Paris, he's probably one or two.
Men's and women's wrestling are two different sports and, in my opinion, trying to rank them together doesn't make any sense. I'd love to see a video about the the 20 best American women wrestlers though.
Great video. Thanks for posting this flo
Awesome video love this stuff. Keep up the great work
In a couple of years I believe Gable Stevenson will be at the #1 spot if he continues his dominance, he already has two NCAA titles, two Hodge trophies, and an Olympic gold medal
Heavyweights just not same level of wrestling then the lower weights.
Cael not being number 1 makes me upset. Bru what, he’s the GOAT. What are you guys talking about. He’s not even top 5?? You guys can’t be serious
bruh is international credentials aren't great enough, it's very simple why he's at where he's at
Should have a separate list for men and women. A lot of great wrestlers were left off of the list. Men and women. DT is proving to be in the top 3 all time.
Only at the 80's on the list. But man what a list. I'll came back later and let you know if I agree. Already Sschalles and Mills should be much higher on the list.
If Burroughs has another Olympic gold medal it would top this argument.
When I seen metcalf at 100 I’m like fuck this list is going to be unreal
He needs a movie based on his phenomenal life experiences!! 👏👏👏
When ya go woke ya go broke.
Come on guys! Really? I know it’s fashionable to support female wrestlers but this is embarrassing.
Correction Kurt Angle won the the Olympic gold medal with a broken FREAKIN neck!
I thought he was gonna say it. Bummer
DC ranked that high? How did he even make it into the top 100? He’s a NCAA runner up and bronze medalist, that’s it. I guess it’s a popularity contest, not an actual best list.
I totally agree. And they have him ahead of Rutherford, Metcalf and no Yanni.
I don't even believe DC should be on the list.
Mark Churella, big miss on this list.
- How did DC make it that high? Runner up in college and a bronze medal in one world championship is his best showing ? ….Brent metcalf undefeated high schooler, hodge trophy , ncaa championships and a team title two time freestyle national champ … Zain train undefeated for three years in college with 87 percent bonus points , team titles, Royce Alger called the toughest by gable, two time ncaa champ, won a silver world medal….DC is not above them
- Adeline Grey is not top ten
- I would switch Bruce and Jordan because Bruce has more medals , which includes 4 Olympic medals in two of those are gold. Bruce should be second and I don’t think it’s even close. However, Jordan is a solid third.
-Dan Gable should be higher
Where's Kevin Jackson, Kenny Monday?mark Shultz
Nothing worst that going to my sons high school wrestling match and hearing the girls screaming for each like anyone gives a chit!!!
Anyone else fast forward past the females in this video?
Dan Cael are at the top if you ask me but wow the list is crazy good
John smith over Cael 🤨
Chris Campbell world champion, lloyd keaser world champion
Randy Lewis should be higher
Crazy list, awesome!
I think Bruce in front of JB is debatable 2 Golds a Silver and. Bronze in the olympics. That tells me on the biggest stage when things go his way he’s good and when they don’t he still sticks around in the top three! At HW too wrestling the biggest baddest dudes on the planet! JB had one Olympic gold but a lot of worlds.
Tim Lambert is hands down the best American wrestler of all time and Flo knows it. This list is bogus.
The list is bogus for sure. Helen in front of Cael? Yianni didn’t even make it and he deserves it as well.
Steveson at 37 is criminal. I guess because this was made before the 2nd Hodge? DT should also be higher.
Stevenson has only been to one Olympics and zero world championships. He is lucky to be as high as he was.

Good list but I think u missed putting Andy Rein on this list. He won Outstanding Wrestler at Tblisi and I'm not sure anyone other than Gable did this (can't find good records).
