I like your advice but I really hate that anyone ever attached the word "casual" or "informal" as an adjective to interviews if we still have to behave almost exactly as we would in an interview without those adjectives proceeding it. There's too much pretense in the hiring process these days lol.
My informal interview turned out to be a pretty intense interview. I was told by the recruiter that’ll be more of a chat and during the interview the hiring manager was asking me over 10 questions. Felt really really really uncomfortable during the interview.
Got a final invitation which will meet the team of 4 people. I've already pass the hr & user interview before. The hr said that this final interview more like quick chitchat with coworkers.. i hope this is an informal interview with local language.
That's awesome news! Congratulations to make it that far. Keep your preparation going. Although they say it is a chitchat it could end up being more formal! All the best and good luck!
Yes as it sounds like they are setting up more of an informal interview to see if you would be a possible candidate for a position. Essentially, they want to see if you are what they are looking for in an applicant before bringing you in for a formal interview. My advice is to prepare as if it was a formal interview as it is important that you are prepared for any questions they ask even if they frame the meeting as "exploratory." Happy to discuss further if needed so please reach out at info@mypracticeinterview.com🙂

Thanks so much for your feedback. There a lot of pretense in the hiring process and that is why I make these videos to help demystify!
Perhaps it’s an attempt to put the candidate at ease, and to justify a hitherto unannounced interview stage.
